Steer clear of this website
I ordered a Bluray system with surround sound. Paid it off within the required timeframe. They were horrible to communicate with - never updated payment statements and advised that goods would be dispatched, and I would be issued a tracking number and delivery date- a month later and nothing. No response to emails and I had to threaten them with Fair Trading in order to receive what looked to be a fake automated email stating their Christmas closure hours 2 days later. I had to lodge with Fair Trading in order to get a refund approved.
Waiting on this to be processed - hopefully no more issues from here on in.
But don't use this company please!!! Not worth the stress!

I also seem to be having some problem with laybystore.com
...i had been using laybystore.com.au/ since mid 2013, first layby completed and delivered without a problem within few months. then i made a new order for a long layby to run between nov 2013/2014.
...i think maybe due to some failed payments, a problem with their automated system has occured and the layby which should of been completed sept/oct 2014 due to increased fortnightly payments now, still hasn't been completed and hasn't been delivered (nov/dec 2014) with additional payments.
...i have been able to get some help by text/email a...Read more

Worst customer service ever - Full of lies
I have had a terrible, terrible experience.
I purchased an iPhone 6 and paid it off in full on 05/11/14, I tried contacting them numerous times from 20/11/14 forward and didn't hear anything, so I lodged a complaint with the department of fair trading, I then received an email advising the iPhone won't be dispatched until early December, I advised them this is poor service & was not made clear to me and I want a full refund.
They then sent me an email on 24/11/14 advising I will get a full refund, I contacted them numerous times again fro...Read more
m 26/11/14 forward as I hadn't received my refund. They now turn around and tell me my refund was not approved and my item will be shipped in early December, I have lodged another complaint with the department of fair trading. Ridiculous right? - Words cannot explain how angry I am & what poor, poor service they have. Do not buy from them!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bad Layby store
I used this company twice(should of learned the first time) and both occasions the product was not sent, which took me time to ring them to find out what the heck is going on, they eventually refunded my money. then i had to go out and find a suitable product.
Their business model is let you layby products they don't even have available.
Don't use laybystore they are useless I will never deal with layby store again in my life.
I have found a decent a layby store called Mylayby.com though which is great and trustworthy.

Do not use this site - they'll take your money and won't send product!!!
This company is terrible! I paid $769.00 to them via direct debit and 6 weeks post final cleared payment I have still not received my item (website says item will arrive within 15 business days from final cleared payment). I have tried to contact them numerous times but their telephone hours are forever changing. When I finally got in contact with them they said that they would rectify the issue and phone me back, still no phone call 6 days later! Have sent an email requesting refund, again same story, no one from the company has contacted me. ...Read more
Have just lodged complaint with the Office of Fair Trading. Hopefully I can get my money back. Don't make the same mistake I did, nearly $800 out of pocket and no explanation from the company. Terrible customer service. Would not recommend
I put on layby a Samsung fridge almost a year ago and started my fortnightly payments. I noticed on the website that the product was no longer available and made contact with The Layby Store to enquire about its availability. They are very hard to contact via telephone and slow with email response. No fridge is available and no refund has yet been provided even though the process was commenced over 5 weeks ago. Be wary of this company. I have had to lodge a formal complaint with the ACCC.

After Sales Service & Performance of Product
My Wife purchased this Saeco Intelia Automatic Coffee Machine from The Layby Shop an on line (Internet) business. They were very attentive to her needs until the purchase was made. Once the product was received and we had problems they do not want to know us, they will not return calls. We wanted proof of purchase for a Warranty repair and they would not even return our calls.
The product is extremely good when it works properly
The electronic display commenced shorting out just before the warrant ended.

I have just found out that The LayBy Store online have gone into liquidation. I have paid just over $4000.00 dollars in a year for a flight centre voucher. I have 4 payments left. What do I do? Will I get my money back? If so how long will it take to get my money back? This voucher is supposed to be used to buy my airfare to Europe and the States. Luckily i have postponed my trip until next year! Can anyone give me any advice?
Cheers.
Jim

I have since stopped further payments! I don't know what else to do! I seriously cannot afford to lose this money! Am so worried! In the meantime have sent the liquidator 2 emails and will ring tomorrow morning! Thanks for the advice Brock!
I'm stressing big time!
Hi Jim,, YOu should have received an email from the accounting company handling the liquidation? All I have been told by the accountant is they will be issuing a report on the 29th May with further information, there is no guarantees to getting money back as there are no assets to be sold off. There is a facebook page called The Layby store Liquidation.. where people are sharing information etc.. sorry I have no other info.. its very stressful .. so many of us out of pocket.
Jvarva - It's a terrible situation and so many people have been affected. Please join our group on Facebook. The info we can share, the better. I know of one person who has already received their money back, hopefully we will receive ours also.
Please join "The Layby Store Liquidation" group on Facebook.
Hope to talk with you soon.

I am also having similar issues with these inconsiderate people. I had a vacuum on Layby worth $800 and December last year I thought I would find out how much further I had to go on my payments. Well turns out I overpaid by around 6-8 weeks. Finally got a hold of them to be told my refund of the overpayments will be processed the following week. Yeah right! Try over a month and I received my refund. It's now April 17th and I still have no vacuum. The last time I could get a hold of them was over a month ago to be told they have not got my item they are waiting on their stockists. I am furious absolutely appalled. I wrote them an email last week saying I will take legal action if I don't get my item or a full refund within 7 days. Today is that day and they are no where to be found. The way they have handled this is so wrong it makes me sick I'm so upset I don't know what to do?

Hi there. Yes this "company" is quite pathetic. I wrote them an email 2 weeks ago. The reply I got was " we are sincerely sorry. Your email has been given to our manager for a reply". I still haven't received a reply and probably won't either. The only advise I can give is to ring Fair Trade in your state. They will let you know what to do.
I have to get together all email sent and received, write what has happened and send it in. I also emailed Fair Trade my account page from they laybe store showing all the payments and how much I have paid in full.
I hope this helps :) I was actually thinking about emailing A Current Affair.
Thank you for your quick reply and your help. I will on Monday get all necessary paperwork together and call fair traiding. I'm starting to think there is no manager (haha) as any other company would have been straight on to it but as you know you only have a two hour time frame to ring them an even them 90% of the time they don't answer. I am very surprised they are still aloud to operate. I fully agree with you and I will also go to A Current Affair they need to be stopped I am a single mother of three and times are tough I was really looking forward to receiving my vacuum but now all I want is refund and I will go buy my own. its just so frustrating.
Thank you heaps again :)
