2014 Corolla Hatch - I don't see what others see in this below average car
I have driven several Corolla models over the years, and I can't say I have ever had a memorable experience other than a bad one.
It is inevitable that whenever you drive a different car that you will compare it to others you have driven, but sometimes there is good reason for it.
I recently rented a 2014 Corolla hatch while in Western Australia and was not that impressed. I own and drive a 2010 Lancer and despite being 4 years older, it is leaps and bounds ahead.
First thing I noticed about the Corolla was the poor rear window visibil...Read more
ity. I have owned a hatch previously so have an idea what to expect. The sloping roof towards the back of the car reduces the length of possible visibility. When I had a car directly behind me, I couldn't see its roof. If i wanted to see further into the distance I had to use the side mirrors. The CVT auto cops a lot of flak and if the criticizers had only ever drive CVT in a Corolla it is with good reason. I found that the transmission was constantly searching for the correct gear. Even if I didn't move the accelerator, the car couldn't make up its mind and would frequently change and rev higher in search of the right one. The CVT Auto in the Lancer has no such problems.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Honest Car
We bought our Corolla auto sport on run out as we expected to get an upgraded model for a bit less.
I had test driven a few cars from other manufacturers with similar pricing/style & many had the newer CVT auto transmission, which I find terribly annoying. The Corolla was right on the money. It does everything it's supposed to with out any fuss. Easy to park once you get used to it's dimensions as you can't see the front because of the slope of the bonnet. It's good with petrol if you take it a bit easier, handles well to. My only niggle is the skirt on the front bumper, it scrapes on our & other driveways. They are a great car.
Easy to drive, frugal with petrol.
Front skirt to low. Their like backsides, it seems everyone has one

Love driving my Corolla
Bought a new Toyota Corolla Ascent Sport model in August Japanese build 2013. The quality is extremely good. I like the legroom as I am over 6 feet compared to my Yaris. I also like the footrest whereas my Yaris didn't have one. It is roomy and comfortable especially the front seating. It was the seating which is one of the main reasons I went for the Corolla. I tried many other makes models but it was superior seating of the Corolla. All other accessories as excellent especially the bluetooth and radio.
Good all round vehicle
The clock on the dash should be closer to the driver. Now that I have a hatchback I would rather prefer the sedan.

Toyota 2013 auto sport hatch review
Ok here I am Back with a Toyota. My first car was an old Escort (good little first car). I then bought a 2 yr old Commodore (disappointment). 1990 new Corolla limited hatch excellent, next Toyota Hilux 4 runner (again excellent). Change of circumstances small zippy car needed Hyundai (pce of rubbish) after 4 years worth needed new motor and worth $500. Bought a new Ford Focus (very disappointed with its drive and servicing. Ford treated me like a dumb female and salesmen 2 only interested in hitting on me). Silly me back to Ford for a new Escap...Read more
e (meh! Very ordinary and again service rubbish different dealer). Now I feel home again with my Toyota Corolla sport, comfortable, economical, dream to drive. Toyota has never disappointed me. Every one treats me with respect and kindness, they even remember my name. I have never had trouble getting decent money back on a Toyota. One thing I can't stand when looking for a new car is a salesman that can only put down his competitor rather than sell what he has. Researched and test drove Hyundai, Mazda and VW. Golf was lovely and had everything but I thought too expensive for what it is. Got a great deal on the Toyota sport at $23,500 with full window tint, mats and weather shields all round, less trade. I drive to the city and back every day in traffic (aprox 40 Ks every day) and once a month I travel interstate (aprox 600 Ks). Handles highway and round town like a champ. Cabin noise is a little more than I would like, but with music I honestly don't notice it. I believe it was worth the little extra for the alloy wheels, reverse camera etc on the sports. Once at work I use company cars Toyota Yaris, Corolla, Camry hybrid, Ford Focus, Falcon and Holden Cruze. I wanted a small car or I would have gone a Camry, word of warning Holden Cruze can not handle traffic we have had 2 overheat in the last 12 month 2 different cars two different drivers and spare an optional extra??? Economical, comfortable. Cabin noise could be reduced.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Toyota Corolla Sports - 2013 Great car
I purchased my car in December from Toyota Deer Park. They were really good. The customer service was amazing.
The car is fab! I love it. It is so smooth to drive. Fuel efficient as well.
The only negatives for my car is my sensors that i added are not working, it is making a continuous annoying sound, so I have switched them off until I book in for 1 month service.
My hubbies car (same one purchased 2013 mid year) had a radio fault. The fox station kept cutting out after a few seconds then changing to another station. It was fully replaced though, so all good now.
Smooth, fuel efficient, roomy, easy to drive
Sensors not working, radio needed replacing

The best car ever!
I recently purchased a 2013 automatic Toyota Corolla Ascent Sport for my first car (I am 17), I purchased because of Toyotas reliability and the general safety of the car. Before my purchase I was looking at other cars such as the Ford Focus and Hyundai i30. I can't make many comparisons as I have only driven a few cars in my life, but ever since I've had it I've been in love. It is extremely smooth to drive and easy to get around in, the fuel economy is great. I get around 550km out of one tank and it costs me around $60 to fill up. The interi...Read more
or is extremely sexy and is way better value for money over some other similar cars on the market. The car has been extremely reliable and I will make further comment after my first 6 month service. Definitely would recommend buying this car. Reliable2 comments
Maybe she fills it up when it hits 1/4 full which a lot of people do - 1/4 = 41 litres x 1.48 a litre (price here in wollongong) = $60.68. I spend about $70 to fill up my Camry so I think that's about right personally...

Value for money
I purchased my new Corolla Hatch in March 2013. I've had a few problems with it. Firstly the stereo. Very temperamental when it comes to connecting the Bluetooth. Only works 50% of the time. Secondly I've got a problem with the 7 speed auto. We live on a busy road, which means that when there is a break in the traffic, you have to put your foot to the floor to exit our driveway. But for no apparent reason, sometimes the auto won't change gear. It just stays in first gear, motor screams and you're flat out going any faster then 30kph. I have to...Read more
quickly change to manual mode and change manually or else I'll get squashed by oncoming traffic. At this point in time, Toyota don't know what the problem is. I have to say It does make me very nervous especially when my wife is driving it. It is dangerous. Sporting looking. Faulty Gearbox13 comments

The current model Corollas use a CVT Transmission. If you are accelerating flat to the floor, the engine revs will remain at about 4500RPM and the car 'catches up to speed'. From your comments, either... Read more

GPS does not work. Reverse camera is ok.
Over all the car is as others say. Great car for the money although I wonder if a Kia or Hyundai would be just as good.
I'm writing this for 1 main reason. The in car GPS option. It cost us $2k to have it as an option. It NEVER works. Constantly loses connection to satellites, never knows where we are when it is working especially in the CBD. It is a nightmare. We have a Lexus as well as this and the GPS is brilliant. Hard to think the same manufacture could make two systems that are so different.
I am currently trying to get our money b...Read more
ack for the GPS option from Toyota. How they can charge $2000 for clearly a faulty product I don't know. I have read a couple of reviews now that mention this is a known problem with the Corolla. 2013 Ascent Sports Hatch. Looks good. Toyotas are always well built in my experience. Roomy for a little hatch. GPS / SatNav simply does not work. $2000 option for nothing. Reverse camera could be better. Contrast is to high, and now direction mapping when you turn the wheel to show you where you will end up in reverse. Very basic.1 comment
Have had my corolla for about three months one new radio (due to the blue tooth being stuffed) and a reverse camera that is fuzzy and Toyota cant fix other wise a great car
What a joke there products and no one can fix

Perfect Car!
I decided to purchased the Corolla Ascent Sports because it had more features than the standard model. For it's price, it's definitely good value.
My dealer was very friendly and polite (thumbs up for outstanding service). The paper work was easy, just read and signed a few papers and had my contract explained to me so and so. The waiting period for car was a month, however this month flew by pretty quick. Before I knew it, It was time to go and pick up my car.
My car was shiny and brand spanking new. I love the new car smell as soon as i...Read more
opened the door. The car delivery guy had programed my car radio for me as well as set it up to connect with my mobile via bluetooth. It was ready to drive away and enjoy! Been driving it for a couple of months now. The drive has been smooth and comfortable. I'd take it out for long drives down the coast from time to time. I'm very impressed with this car. Above all, I believe purchasing this car was a great choice! Sporty look, Sporty interior, reliable, powerful, fuel efficient, quiet engine.2 comments
Go any other place but do not go to Zupps at Mt gravatt, Brisbane their price is much higher, so shop around.
