I love the vehicle. Hate the GPS.
I live in the bush and bought 2016 200 Sahara to be legal towing our van. It does everything with ease.
The GPS map is 20 years out of date with the road names around here. I have been checking for updates only to find they are still out of date. All other maps including Toyota link have the road names correct.
Why is Toyota wasting theirs and our money on this supplier. Tom Tom.
Purchased in May 2021 for A$115,000.00.

I have paid a lot to have my GPS updated by Toyota May 2020. My road name and some other are still wrong.
It's not a good feeling.

Electrical problems, ABS sensor issues, weak CVs, dust issues...
I thought this Cruiser would be better than my 105 series in every way being brand new and having that V8 diesel. Well it started ok until a trip to Cape York when it broke it's first CV on the Old Tele track (14,000klms on the clock) no warranty due to ARB suspension being fitted. Then on a trip up Rainbow beach and the centre difflock would not disengage. I tried turning the Cruiser off and back on again but nothing worked until I unhooked the battery terminals. I could turn off the centre difflock to drive home. This turned into a common iss...Read more
ue that the toyota dealer said was caused from going offroad and that most people don't do that and wouldn't fix the issue. Then came the Abs sensor issues with replacing two on the front. Another trip and another CV busted. I got ARB to fit a front diff lock to help distribute the torque evenly and this seemed to work till i sold the vehicle with 110,000klms on the clock. Dust entered the cabin really easily and would fill the vents. we would have dust coming from the rear vents when ever we turned them on for the kids. Overall we lost confidence in the Cruiser and sold it. Paint was an issue also, very thin. Ours was the Graphite colour.Purchased in September 2021 for A$97,500.00.

Large SUV
Used most days around city with regular trips to the Southwest and across paddocks. Standard tyres useless in an slippery conditions, should be offered selection of tyres at purchase. Tows medium sized camper trailer without effort or noticeable steering affect with good braking (assisted by Electric trailer brakes). Limited legroom in second row and third row has your knees up fairly high although almost as much thigh room as the second row. Fuel consumption climbs steeply above 90kph. Should have Android and apple carplay as well as a better Gps which was out of date on purchase.
A very easy mechanism to remove the Third row of seats would be valuable.

What a fantastic beast. Tows like you would not believe. Leaves everything else in the rear vision. Mirror.
Have the current 200 series GXL. Expensive but worth every cent. Tows our 2.8 ton van with ease. Have not had any problems or warranty claims in 4 years and over 60,000 kilometres. It is a dream to drive and perfect in comfort and performance. We hummed and harred about the cost but they hold their resale value better than anything else in the market.

Best landcruiser ever
Ive owned a 40, 45, 55, 60, 75, 80, 100 and now a 200 series. Every model was legendary and every model was better than the one before it. They arent cheap but they outlast the rest. Great tow car, awesome offroad.

comfortable highway cruiser and excellent tow vehicle. have to pay way too much for way too little. basic inclusions - no seat heaters, accessory plug in rear, lumber support adjustment, stereo controls steering wheel and poor standard insulation. high depreciation
I would rather go off road in my old 75 troopy

Beautiful car - expensive and USELESS GPS
I use the vehicle for off road 4WD, commuting. I Live in the bush so require a good GPS system and good robust car that is comfortable. The GPS system keeps wanting to take you back to the bitumen, often it tries to take me miles out of the way. Out of 10 I would rate the GPS system 3. Lift your game toyota, you pay good money for a nice vehicle, don't cheapen it by putting a 2nd rate GPS system in a 4WD! Other than that it is a nice car.....Expensive but nice!

Extremely high quality - best car I have owned.
Use the 200 for commuting, family transport & towing a 3700KG boat. (I had a second stage mfg increase the BTC to 4T). The vehicle is more solid than anything else I have seen designed & built today. Comfortable for long trips, large car that is easy to handle. I will have a very hard time letting go of this one when the time comes.

Great car
You really pay for what you get with these cars. Fairly expensive so you get the best possible ride with it. Very comfortable even with standard suspension. Great car straight of the factory floor.

New Batteries - No navigation
We recently replaced our batteries in our Landcruiser, and now the factory fitted navigation system is not picking up GPS signal, and has gone to a default map of Canberra. Is there a anyway that we can fix this ourselves, or is this a trip to our local dealer?
Thanks in advance, Tania

Great vehicle great staff
I search for two years before I found a vehicle I wanted to buy, it had to have accessories, low is and be able to do what was required in a four wheel drive. Towing etc. I selected a GX 200 series landcruiser 2013. This vehicle is to tow my off road van for extended trips outback as well as a daily drive.

Happy So Far
We've had our LandCruiser 200 series since June, and don't think we'll ever turn back. Has a spacious interior, fits 3 car seats along the middle row nicely, drives well a perfect family car from school runs to off-roading. Has only been taken for one service (which was complimentary) the local dealer offers a complimentary detail along with the service. The dealer was extremely busy on the day our car was booked in - so could not complete the detail - although offered for us to bring the vehicle back at a later date for the detail.

King of the Road
Look I love my Landcruiser Sahara 200series as a car, BUT, as a caravan tow vehicle it leaves a lot to be desired. At this time there is a lot of talk regarding tow weights of vehicles and caravans, eg. Landcruiser kerb weight 2680kg (with 10lts of fuel) GVM 3350kg (Max weight fully loaded).
This is a 7 seater vehicle with a tow capacity of 3500kg and static ball weight of 350kg these are the facts.
Hello Toyota ....... 7 average persons at 75kg = 525kg, a full tank of fuel 135lts at .83kg /lt = 112.05kg, a genuine toyota alloy bull bar 85kg,...Read more

The best family 4x4 vehicle
Toyota landcruiser 200 vx very comfortable vehicle my kids loves it in every trip. Quite cabin and torquey engine. The stock suspension is amazing. Drive it off road and it will just take it easy with the help of its traction control you don't need differential locker in my opinion.

Comfortable car
This is a really comfortable 4wd to drive around. Lots of really good things about it. Some frustrations with the navigation unit being poor, as is toyota form it seems, and some of the alarms and bells can't be turned off, which is annoying. Good long distance tourer. Second major issue is the payload capacity. Toyota need to look at this and address it. Considering so many buy the car as a tourer, tow vehicle, the 650kg capacity is no-where near enough.

Happy enough
The car is a great drive and tows well, the kids have grown up now so its the cook and I, you could argue its an overstated vehicle for two people which it is but is bought for towing and long trips into central and western Queensland etc
I am a little disappointed in the lack of features for the driver: reversing sensor, fuel management, retracting mirrors etc. all of this was standard with my previous Prado GXL
considering the significant cost its disappointing, I wish I had of bought the VX
never the less a great vehicle.
The dealer is excellent to deal with and would recommend talking to them before purchasing elsewhere.

Power and the glory
Had my 2013 Sahara since new, 100,000km of trouble free luxury and hauling tools for work. A great machine to cover large distances easily and comfortably. Economical diesel albeit a twin turbo V8 powerhouse. Love the chiller box and dvd for children in the rear. Plenty of room for the larger framed folk! Reliability is first class.

Beautiful comfy & quiet car for touring & towing, plenty of grunt when towing our 3 ton caravan with reasonable economy (14 to 17 LP 100 kl ).
Interior is plane but functional, comfy seating for long distances, very quiet interior with very little road noise. GPS rather difficult to negotiate as is the radio especially when driving as the screen is too small as are the icons on the screen.
The steering tends to wander slightly so driver has to concentrate more to keep car on track.

Awsome driving experience, quiter than I thought, great steering, excellent on and off road, plenty of space inside, there is nothing to dislike about the interior, easy to clean, and very comfortable for the whole family, it fits everything we need for everyday life or when we go for trips and very affordable running costs, i wish I bought it earlier.

I have an issue with my 2018 LC 20 VX model and radio and Bluetooth having no sound. Here’s what happens
Currently - no sound at all coming through. This effects the radio and whilst the phone does connect to Bluetooth, there is no sound coming out of that either.
Previously - there has been static coming from the speakers. It is very random and can ‘crackle’ at any time, then goes quiet, then crackles again.
Occasionally - At times it just switches on and everything works.
Toyota have replaced the head unit and zero change. I just picked it up from Toyota today for attempt #4 and the technician says there are ‘no problems with wiring or speakers’ however I still have no sound
Any help/advice would be wonderful.

how to fix a clove box lid from opening
1 answer
The glove box handle pulls the latches into both sides of the glove box door/cover . These sometimes jam in because of dust or debris, and have to be coaxed out, but gently. A little lubrication helps them work better. It is not advisable to try to crack open the door as they are stuck together very well.

I have a 2011 gx, and got it remapped recently after buying it about 8 months ago, and the readout said that it only has 165kw after the remap and 140 before, I thought 200kw was standard
2 answers
Ask an Agent or look in tbe manual, usually available on line
200kw is at the engine. When you allow for drive-line losses you get 140kw as measured at the tyres
165kw is measured at the tyres.
Dont feel bad, The Y62 Patrol is 297kw at the engine and yet was 163kw at the tyres AFTER a tune.
