2015 Yaris
I am very happy with the new design of the 2015 model. I wanted to have a safe car and set my eyes on Toyota because of its safety design and reliability. Having been driving this for 4 months, this car is just easy to park with the reverse camera.

5 Door Yaris
Fantastic, reliable, fuel efficient car. Highly recommend this car which is great value. Cheap to service, cruises beautifully at 100 kph. They are better than expected. Grow on you very quickly the more you use it. No dislikes so far and keep posted as I will keep updating its progress from new.
Product review update. Booked in for the 10,000km service tomorrow. The only concern is I can smell fuel outside the car after I fill it up. So when I get home, I can smell it in the garage.
Dislikes of the car. Wish I had parking sensors. Steering ...Read more

Great car.
Would without hesitation endorse this car, we have the 1300 auto and has all the power we need and very economical to run, great on the open road as well as around town. Bought a Honda Jazz as well 1300 manual and have to say I prefer this myself but both are excellent value. Don't believe what the test drivers say in the mags, these are real world cars for real people in the real world.

Great economical small car.
We bought this vehicle new from northpoint toyota at Hillcrest S.A. in December of 2011.
It was the new 2012 model and we have been very happy with the cars performance. We looked around at Mazda, Suzuki and Honda but value for money and the smaller motor were reasons we settled on the Yaris.
The car is reliable and has bluetooth for the phone and electronic windows.

No car is perfect but this model comes close.
As I said no car is perfect... no matter what you pay for it.
Mine cost me $27,400 - extras included for the price were metallic paint, window tint, rust, interior, exterior protection (which was a rip off at $2500 but hey gotta have a learning curb!). Never be pushed into buying those useless extras as I was but as I said it's a learning curb when the "customer satisfaction manager" pushes you into a small room to force you buy products that aren't needed nor do they work aka the ming mole struck again!
The car is the only Japanese built...Read more
car in it's class; the interior is the largest in it's class with the largest glass area for excellent vision which is aided by great exterior mirrors. The single blade windscreen wiper clears a huge area of the windshield and is quiet and efficient. Interior seats are very large and supportive for the class, seat fabric is of high quality as is the great feel of the thick D-Shaped sports steering wheel that gives more interior room. Sound system is excellent as is climate control system on any given day. Suspension is perfectly tuned as are the brakes so that even in torrential rain at 110km/h the car feels super solid and safe... love the easy to use cruise control stalk (borrowed from Lexus).Similar opinion? YRX, GPS navigation, SD card System do in pay extra for.
I have a late 2013,Toyota Yaris Hatchback YRX, and I fully agree with “No car is perfect but this model come close”, 24th Aug, 2014. The GPS, navigation, SD card system is not worth the money. The GPS has a problem were the school crossing cannot not be disabled, yet there is a menu to allow you to disable them. You get up to 8 crossing in one area and some where there is not a school crossing at all. Toyota knows of the problem but cannot fix it. I am sure if Toyota kept telling the manufacture (of the GPS) about the problem, it would get fixe...Read more
d. Is this too hard for Toyota to do? Toyota also told me that they update the GPS every 18mths, it is quite clear that the GPS problems have not been fixed. Toyota even put a new 2015 version into my car to test it and it is still has the same problem. The GPS is also slow to re-calculate and at time it is so determent to make you do a u-turn before re-calculating. It is expensive to update it over $300.00 and then you will still get the same nasty unfixed problem with it. The YRX is a great car because of the climate control, automatic headlights, economical, very comfortable and roomy but the GPS is a waste of money. DO NOT PAY EXTRA FOR THE GPS, SD NAVIGATION CARD SYSTEM.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Best Little car
I bought my Toyota Yaris in 2010 as part of the Toyotathon for 14,990 for a 5 door hatch. The first thing I realised after looking at a lot of other little cars was what you got for your money. $130 capped priced servicing and the bottom of the range YR hatch came standard with blue tooth connectivity and a full size spare wheel and there is so many storage compartments- 3 glove boxes to be precise! It drives well with a manual in the 1.3L but i would be sceptical about weather an auto would have enough get up. There is ample space in the back ...Read more
as it allows you to slide the seats forward for more boot space or back for more leg room....every single time a new passenger gets in the backseat they comment on how much room it has. a lot of my male friends have been in Mazda 2's, VW polo's with the heads always touching the ceiling in the back....not in my Yaris as the seats tilt back a little to allow for extra headroom. The back seats also fold down and flat for more room- better then the 60/40 split most cars have. We have put so much in the yaris, it fit a 60" Tv and surround sound system in the back with a squeeze and much to the sales mans surprise! the boot closed with a trusty click. Now, 4 years old and 80,000km's on it, it's driven the full eastern coast a few times without missing a beat and never any problems. Fuel economy is amazing getting Brisbane to Rockhampton very easily on one tank. I couldn't recommend the Toyota Yaris enough. In 4 years it has cost me a set of tyres and its $130 every 10,000km's for it's service. Even after the capped price servicing expired my next one was only $200 with Toyota. Such a fantastic little car- Couldn't recommend it enough- perfect little first car.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Fuel saving automatic transmission feature - 2013 Toyota Yaris
2013 Yaris 1.3ltr has a system where the fuel cuts off when coasting or light braking and the torque converter locks up to keep the engine turning (like if it was a manual gearbox in gear) then when you accelerate again the engine fires and disengages the lock up converter.
This gives you a terrible delay/dead spot followed by lurching / jerky/ jumping as you accelerate to get going again. At first i thought it was a faulty accelerator pedal but only found out about this problem from another website after bringing back to toyota many times cou...Read more

Great little Car
Purchased in June 2013 - Automatic 5 door
The Yarris is a reliable little run about. It is a compact car that is easy to drive. Driving position is comfortable and there is sufficient leg room in the back for an adult to sit without feeling cramped.
For us this is a shopping trolley and is used mainly to run to the shops etc with occasional longer drives.
The boot space (back seats up) is limited so consider what you are using the car for if massive amounts of storage are required.
Easy to drive, comfortable. Has all the basic features you would expect.
Boot space a little small,

Nice comfortable smooth drive
I bought the 2012 YR model for my wife in January 2013. It was a mangers car, so it had done 14K in eight months but we managed to get it for $13.5K compared to $18K for a new one. My wife loves the car. The new look is so much smarter than the old style. The sound system is excellent, it is very fuel efficient, easy to park, has responsive steering and has good power for it's size. She loves driving it and often tells me how happy she is with it. I love the fact that the capped servicing is only $135.00 for the first 3 years. Would recommend t...Read more

2010 and 2012 yaris
I bought a 2010 yaris yr brand new and drove it to work everyday, about 1000kms a week. 2 years later when I sold it, it was just like new. I originally chose the yaris based on the 2.9% finance deal and service advantage which makes it very good value.
It was a nice little car with lots of storage spaces but very basic. No cruise control even as an option, no steering wheel controls or stability control or anything like that. I drive a long way to work,on hilly, windy roads and even with the 1.3l engine, I have no trouble at all.

r two years and 80,000kms, I was due for rego and a major service ($890 at Toyota!) and a new windscreen all at once so I decided it would be worth it to just get a new car, as the new yaris came with all the safety features like traction control, stability control etc. that I had originally wanted. This time it also came with 1.9% finance and the Toyota access feature which means my monthly repayments are now even lower than before and the cost of servicing is back to $130 with the service advantage. I love my new (2012) yaris so much!! It looks so much more stylish and comes with so many more features like steering wheel audio controls, cruise control, outside temperature reading and tells you information like avg fuel economy and how many kms you'll get out of your tank of fuel. Things I miss about my old yaris is that you could manoeuvre the back seats to give either a big boot or lots of leg room for back passengers (there was plenty of room for 6'1" bf) however the new yaris seems roomier in both aspects. I also really really miss the glove box above the steering wheel as the dash was in the centre.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Terrible - do not buy this vehicle - High pitch noise in engine. Toyota will not fix.
I previously owned a manual 2006 yaris which I was very happy with. The new 2012 Yaris is poorly built and poorly executed. The main problem with my Auto model is that at speeds of over 90km/hr a high pitch ringing noise is emitted from the engine. This noise is constant and is like the ringing in your ears after you hear a loud concert. I complained to Toyota and Toyota admitted that this is in all similar models and that they would not be doing anything about it.
The glare that reflects of the dash is dangerous.
The new 1 x large central ...Read more

2011 Yaris YRS Hatch - Love It!!
Recently purchased the 2011 YRS model (automatic, 1.5L engine) with added safety pack upgrades - has seven airbags, ABS, ESC, traction control, high pedestrian safety rating, 5-star ANCAP safety rating, and more!
Very safe, provides a smooth ride on the rode, stylish exterior, very spacious interior that makes the car feel much larger than it is, high seating position, great visibility, easy to steer and park, fantastic sound system and simple Bluetooth connectivity, lots of storage spaces, easy-to-read central digital display.
Engine can be a little noisy going up hills (though I rarely hear it over the incredible sound system), boot is quite small when back-seats are not adjusted forward, central display does not show what gear car is in.

A great zippy car with lots of room in the back!
I had a hard time choosing a new car after my first ever car died. I looked at a lot of different makes and models and finally settled on the Toyota Yaris. I have been consistenly surprised by how much room is in the back when I put the seats down - it really is like a mini station wagon. It's fuel efficient too!
Economic and reliable

New Spec 2011/2012 Toyota Yaris YRS
Just bought the new spec 2011/12 Toyota Yaris YRS.
I decided to go with the YRS, simply because when I sat in the base model Yaris YR, the plastic steering wheel seemed cheap and it didn't have the features I wanted, as I had a european car previously.
This model has improved fuel efficiency compared to previous models, it's really really easy on petrol and is very smooth to drive and is a very smooth impressive ride. It's also incredibly safe in an accident.
One thing that bothers me it has no places apart from the glovebox that you ca...Read more
n close to store things like coins and sunglasses out of sight, that's annoying I just put my sunnies in the side door. Other toyotas have a sunglasses hatch in the roof, they should have done that, particularly on mine as I bought the YRS not the base model YR. Drives well, leather steering wheel/gear shift in the YRS is really nice very glad I got that HUGE difference, am very glad I went with the YRS rather than YR it's just a nicer drive. Because it's new, the "new car smell" is quite strong in the Yaris.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Purchased a new Yaris 2015 Hatch Ascent . Clocked in at 19,000 kms. My car failed as it was struggling to move when changing gears. Roadside assistance detected the car was running on 3 cylinders and should be on 4. Why????
The car has to be towed back to Toyota for further investigation.
The car at times fails to start. Why is this?
So disappointed and annoyed.
This is a new car and I think it's a bloody lemon.

Unfortunately there's a lemon every now and then, even with luxury cars... It's just one of the few cases where it got past their quality control checks.
Hi mate.. I am not a mechanic so that I can tell you what exactly is happening to your car, however, you can ask for a replacement car from Toyota dealer for going to work for free . I guess, you still have warranty left...good luck n hope you will get your car back soon.. cheers
Unable to answer the mechanical questions - a pity as Toyota are usually very reliable. Have noted that sometimes motor does not kick with key ON. Place foot on brake and make sure auto is properly in park. Then good to go . The Yaris is definitely not a power plant.
PS how come a new car with 2015?
