I bought 2014 Toyota Yaris Hatchback. When i bought it the bluetooth devices are full but unable to remove it and as the devices are full, i am unable to connect mine with its system. Should i reset it?

You should be able to delete any or all previous connections. I am not driving the Yaris as I have passed it to my son but it was pretty easy to delete when I fiddled with the display, Just play with the buttons on the display and you’ll soon discover the delete button.

Yaris XP130 Hatch (2011-2020)

Purchased a new Yaris 2015 Hatch Ascent . Clocked in at 19,000 kms. My car failed as it was struggling to move when changing gears. Roadside assistance detected the car was running on 3 cylinders and should be on 4. Why????
The car has to be towed back to Toyota for further investigation.

The car at times fails to start. Why is this?

So disappointed and annoyed.

This is a new car and I think it's a bloody lemon.

Unfortunately there's a lemon every now and then, even with luxury cars... It's just one of the few cases where it got past their quality control checks.

Hi mate.. I am not a mechanic so that I can tell you what exactly is happening to your car, however, you can ask for a replacement car from Toyota dealer for going to work for free . I guess, you still have warranty left...good luck n hope you will get your car back soon.. cheers

chuck48

Unable to answer the mechanical questions - a pity as Toyota are usually very reliable. Have noted that sometimes motor does not kick with key ON. Place foot on brake and make sure auto is properly in park. Then good to go . The Yaris is definitely not a power plant.
PS how come a new car with 2015?

Depends on series (eg Y --) and badge ( eg Ascent).
Also auto. vs manual and Km's but in good nick $8 - 10K.
You can check Carsales also or if access to Glass's guide.

Depends on: single owner or second/ third owner, odometer, car’s interior n exterior condition( scratches, dings etc), any accidents, log book maintain, rego left...think from buyers point of view, I have noticed so many overpriced private vehicle in Carsales n gumtree,,,and they have been since ages... and some genuine car and reasonable priced gets sold in the same days it’s advertised..hope this helps.. good luck

den
den

Let’s Assume it’s a Yaris auto, 5 door automatic transmission, kms 60,000, single owner, log book well maintained, normal wear n tear with age, 6 months/ 5 months rego left, tyres in good condition,: 1) $9,000( Good price from your POV)..2) $8,000-8700( moderate 50 50), 3) $ 7000-7500( good from buyer POV).. If you look for quick sale then you get around $ 7000... keep in mind... you are one who need cash and seller always loose... if you go with dealer they are the worst...hope this one helps too

Good question.

Normally the answer will be found in the Owner's Manual however, if your manual is like mine, Toyota do not provide the oil specification for the transmission. Never mind, you have two options available:

1. Purchase the oil from your local Toyota dealership letting them select the correct (and maybe superior) oil for you, or
2. more work for you but likely a less costly option is to purchase from your local spare parts supplier, Repco or Supercheap are two that come to mind but use whoever you prefer. Generally these suppliers have a lube chart in the store which you can look up for the correct oil. Alternatively, before you visit the store, visit the website for your preferred oil brands and then look for a link to their lubrication guide. With a bit of drilling down you well get the information you need. Here are links to three different oil brands to get you started.

http://www.datateck.com.au/lube/castr_au/ says CASTROL TRANSMAX MULTIVEHICLE
http://www.datateck.com.au/lube/valv_auMS/ says MAXLIFE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID
http://www.datateck.com.au/Lube/NulonAus/ says FULL SYNTHETIC MULTI-VEHICLE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID

Please note my answer is general in nature only and before purchasing/using any oil brands you should consult the appropriate suppliers for the information required,.

Hi, I recently bought a 2007 Toyota yaris YRS...and I'm wondering if it does have a auxiliary port where I can plug my cable to?

1 answer

It depends. If it was manufactured from Feb 2007 onwards then i think the aux port is located in the storage area next to the driver's left leg. If it was manufactured before that then it doesnt have one and you will hve to use an FM transmitter like i do

If it is not affecting any safety issue that affects the actual driver I wouldn't worry about it unless it might make the car unsafe to drive

If i buy a yrs yaris why cant i have cruise control put in

4 answers
all_alloy
all_alloy

So concerning the 2011-2014 Yaris The YR & YRS both have the option of cruise control for $500, the YRX & ZR have it as standard. However both can still be optioned at the dealership if you purchased a used one. As for the 2014+ Yaris that was just released with the LED daytime lights and new grille - that's a new ball park. I have no idea if the just released Yaris can be optioned with cruise control.

brian
brian

Why would you want cruise control anyway / it's probably always best to have total control of the vehicle

ann
ann

Cruize control stops getting speeding tickets as sometime its easy to go over the limit in an auto car

MAF sensor and or throttle body needs cleaning. You can buy a spray can of cleaner, or metho on a cotton bud. Google/You tube how to do it. I just fixed my 2006 model Yaris. It's surprising how many mechanics don't know this. Can be done with basic tools and competence by home mechanic.

Hello, I am new to buying cars and was wondering if I could get some advice.

I am buying a brand new 2013 Yarris YR automatic at 17990 with cruise control, rear sensor, tint and 5 year warranty.
Have I paid too much? I have put in deposit but would I be able to retrieve it?

Is it always better to buy a second hand or a 1 year old car as it depreciates a lot as soon as you drive out?

2 answers
Janae
Janae

That sounds like a bargain to me! I paid about 22000 I think for brand new 2012 auto, with cruise, tint, 3 yr warranty. I love my brand new car. Depends on how you pay for it - I got the 2% finance deal so it was better for me to buy brand new.

robertbryson
robertbryson

Sarah - We have enjoyed the Yaris YR Automatic 4 door with hatch. Ours was the 2012 model delivered in December 2011. We paid a bit more than that onroad with window tint and some extras such as floor mats and boot mat protector that folds out to protect the duco when lifting objects into or out of the boot.
We don't have cruise but its an option I would have liked so go for it.The car performs very well and is easy to drive and park. The issue of new or a demonstrator with low mileage or a second-hand vehicle is one that only you can decide. The car we bought was for a milestone birthday for my wife so new was our preference but we did toy with a demonstrator but got the new one for a similar price so went with that.Yes the depreciation of any vehicle is around 50% of the new price within a year or two but if you plan on keeping for a long time it is not something we worried too much about. The good thing about Toyota is they make good cars & are very desirable. Good luck.Rob.
