Hi there,I’m after a schwinn meridian 26 inch wheel trike.is this a good choice?
I’m an active 40 year old male.
I just want it to go to the markets and carry some groceries yet strong enough that the wheels won’t buckle under a bit of bumpy road.the schwinn just looked pretty nice.
I don’t have any experience with trikes but have ridden bikes all my life.
Any help on where to get one in Sydney or something better would be much appreciated.
Thanks very much.
Anthony

Hi there Schwinn is made in Taiwan but I don't think there is any importer for them in Australia at the moment, there was about one year ago but nothing since that I am aware of.

This site specifically for the brand Trike Bike you may find another section here for Schwinn and you would be better off asking their

Hello Diana, please give me more information about the type of trike you have, the brand ?, is it normal pedal or electric ?, who put it together for you ? If you lift the front wheel off the ground does it spin freely ?, If you lift the left wheel off the ground does it spin freely ?, If you lift the right wheel off the ground does it spin freely ?

There are so many variables that we need to ask these questions. The best point of contact to answer these questions for you would be to call where you purchased the trike from rather than asking a product review website

Thank you Michael C I am sure it was purchased from you at Trike Bike Aust. (Pink)
I had it assembled at a shop here in Victoria by an ex Olympic cyclist it is normal pedal .. I have just tested if the wheels spin freely and no the back wheel on the right hand does not the other two do

Trike-Bike
Michael C.Trike-Bike

Then you need to find out why the right-hand back wheel is not spinning freely. It is going to be probably the disk brake has not been adjusted correctly. There are two bolts holding the rear caliper onto the bike, I would remove these two bolts which will remove the caliper. Once this is done you should go for a short ride (knowing that you have no rear brake) to see if this makes a difference. If the tricycle rides normally then this would tell you immediately that the rear brake has not been fitted or adjusted correctly and it will need to be looked at. There is a wealth of videos on our website showing you how to adjust the rear brake correctly.

Disclaimer: if you ride without the rear brake attached you need to be very careful because you only have the front brake to stop the bike so do not go out on big hills or anything like that just test it on the flat area to see that it is the cause of your problem

Hi I have a question I have a adult tricycle that has a limited slip differential on the rear axle that has a sprocket bolted to it and my question is if I put a motor on the back of my tricycle and run a chain from my motor to the limited slip differential sprocket that's on the outside of the differential housing will that work to drive the bike?

1 answer
Trike-Bike
Michael C.Trike-Bike

It probably wont work, if you have a diff, and i am not aware of any in the Australian market, they are designed to work with the power from a "human output" a motor has way more power and will probably overpower the whole system and just destroy it. What brand of trike and what brand of diff is it and i can find out ?

Hello Diana, this is for the Australian sold Trike Bike brand only. The trike you are talking about is only in US and available through Sears. I would be going back to them for product support or alternatively you can contact me directly off the review website, send some photos and I will see what I can do. Many thanks Michael

I bought what appears to be a vintage tricycle (swapmeet) and it has 2 gears connected by one independent chain on the hub side? Looks like some kind of differential axle which the main chain goes to? It has no braking or linkages what so ever? The front emblem appears to look like a “wheel within a wheel” almost looks like a molecular symbol? Any ideas on what I have? Thanks
Sincerely

Why do I get a clunk when I peddle, does the rear brake need greasing ? are the two screws on it greaser nipples

1 answer
Trike-Bike
Michael C.Trike-Bike

Please ring the office directly and ask for workshop. You do not apply grease to the rear brake otherwise it will never work. There are no grease nipples on the trike because everything is sealed. It sounds to me like you have overtightened the nuts on the left-hand wheel and are straining the bearings. Before you do any further damage ring and ask for the workshop and get them to give you instructions. 07 5522 0583 Trike Bike.

I am continually amazed why somebody who purchases a trike would go to a review website to get information. Regardless of whatever brand you are purchasing why don't you just call the business who sold you the product because they would know more about it than anybody else ?

After submitting my reply I have had a good look at the photo in your profile and you don't even have a "Trike Bike" which is what this product review section refers to. I would ask you to take your answer to wherever you purchased the trike from because everything I have told you only relates to the product we sell which is the genuine "Trike Bike" not the knockoffs

How do I make both wheels drive on my Schwinn meridian trike?

1 answer
Trike-Bike
Michael C.Trike-Bike

This is not a site for Schwinn but i will try to help you. Basically you cant. All modern trikes only drive from one wheel, driving from 2 wheels needs a differential and this takes more power to run the diff than a human can produce. Thanks
