Hi all
Finally purchased a new BBQ after retiring the old girl (Turbo) after 25 years and many part replacements to keep it running like new. My project required a 4 burner natural gas compatible BBQ with a hood that could be dropped into a custom outdoor kitchen cabinet. Well let me tell you, if you don't already know, there are a lot of BBQ's these days to choose from. My price range was around $1900 to $2100 as I figured I wont be buying another one for a long time (probably never) and life is too short to go cheap. Plus there is an o...

These fancy burners won't light.
It worked fine the first two times we used it
then a few days later it won't light.
There is no troubleshooting guide for this problem.
And now i have to write words unnecessarily so i can list my question.
Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!
For god sake will this ever end!!!!!
Yada yada yada yada yada
Blah blah blah blah

I'm a charcoal fan so was very sceptical about spending big money on a gas bbq. I saw them as just outdoor grills.
Well... I have to say this bbq is excellent. Those domes really seem to work.
I have a 4 burner model, half grill and half hotplate, with an additional side burner for a pan or wok.
This works great for us, meat on the grill and veggies on the hotplate. The food comes out with a fantastic smokey flavour, I'd say almost if not as good as a charcoal kettle. Only without the hassle of charcoal! We use it at least a few times a week, so easy and really nice results.
I've not even tried it with a smoker box yet... that might well be the final nail in the coffin for charcoal in this house.
We bought a Turbo Elite RQT. It has always had a cover. It proports to be stainless steel but we have discovered that only some parts are stainless. The metal coating on the handle that raises the lid has peeled off and the metal underneath is oxidising and turning into a white powder. Very disappointing for what was a reasonably expensive BBQ

I used my new BBQ for the first time on the weekend. I was a bit worried in regards to the mixed reviews. It seems people either love it or hate it.
It turns out I am one that loves it.
I don't understand how people have trouble cooking on the grill side. The meat came out perfect.
I slow cooked chicken drumsticks on one part, and cooked a range of other meats rotating them around.
The beef came out with nice grill lines and cooked perfectly. The chicken was crispy on the outside with grill lines, and moist on the inside.
It seems t...
Read moreo take longer to heat up than normal gas burners. To get it going I put it on full until the burners started glowing red. I then turned it down low. There were a few minor flare ups, but this was only as the oil ran over the the glass. This is to be expected. On my old BBQ there were a number of times when I had to stop cooking as there were huge flames coming off of it. Salvage the meat I could, turn off the BBQ and wait for the flames to stop. Then throw out the totally burned meat and start again. I could not imagine anything like this happening with this new BBQ.This is a great BBQ if you don't need all the bells and whistles. Has side burner as well as the 4 standard burners. will take a rotisserie attachment, maybe Massport could make it an optional extra. Looks good and easy to use - even you Aussies should cope :-)
I wish I could post pictures of everything I have ventured on my bbq! Perfect steaks, yummy pizzas, Sunday roasts even cakes!!!! You tube also have great uploads. Like all good bbqs, ovens all you need it to preheat for 15 minutes for that mouthwatering sear & then leave the burners on high for 15mins after to clean.
I have hardly used my oven since my purchase!
Worth every design award it's one! :)

Looked the part at the start, costs quite alot $2500;00, cover ripped on first removal as of sharp parts on BBQ. Took forever to assemble but then that could just be me, so so disappointed from lack of heat for my steak cooking. I think it is well made but it's just no good.
I agree with the last review.. I have owned a Turbo Elite 4 burner with side burner for over a year, I use it a few times a week . The burners work brilliantly, cooks steaks, roasts, pizzas, pretty much anything perfectly. It took a few tries to get the RQT burners down pat . But after that you have to be doing something wrong to stuff up a meal on it. I can honestly say that this bbq is one of the best things I've ever purchased, I love it.
The reviewers that can't get it hot enough, must be doing something wrong, because this bbq ge...

Hey guys, I've seen a lot of negative feedback on the Turbo's and I honestly, without bias, cannot understand how these results are being defined.
As an expert of Turbo's, here is a few pieces of advice that should be able to help you:
Many of you are saying that the heat isn't cooking your meat properly. There could be many things involved with this:
1. Not enough time heating it up. Even though the burners are much hotter than your average burner, the quartz dome does take time to heat up, so you do need to wait a tiny bit before you want...
Cannot get enough heat, rqt burners appear good design but no heat. Disappointing so say the least. Will replace with older burners and ceramic rocks. Fortunately I bought this second hand in Toorak, I now know why he sold it. Lots of improvement needed.

I can't believe that people don't like this BBQ!? I bought mine several months ago after LOOOOOOONG deliberation and research I settled on the Turbo. I get massive amounts of heat. Perfect steaks every time. I would highly recommend this BBQ to anyone. Having said that there is obviously a problem with some of these BBQ's. These bad reviews are hard to read as I consider this to be the bast BBQ I have ever had and I stand by my review. I can only comment on my experience and for me this is a 5 star BBQ. as for roasting, the best roast pork ever...
Read morey time. I get the heat up too 250 then put the rotisserie in drop the heat down to 200 for 25 min then put all the burners on low. The BBQ stays at about 160-170. And just keeps that temp. I love this BBQ.Find out how Ziegler & Brown Turbo Elite 4 Burner on Cart compares to other Gas BBQs

I cant believe there are so many bad reviews. The barbecue provides plenty of heat and grills steak prefectly to medium rare when on high in about 8 minutes. Yes you need to give the burners 5 minutes or so on maximum before cooking but other bbqs require much more time. I have noticed no stewing or broiling. The smokey flavour through the meat is great. Ive had nothing but positive feed back from friends. I cook basically all my meat on the stainless grills with few flare ups. The only time i get flare ups is when i grill really fatty loin ch...
Read moreops at a too hight temperature but the flare ups are still much less than other barbeques and the flare ups quckily burn out if you move the meat and keep the lid closed. As for roasting the radiant heat gives the meat a very even cook. And cleaning is as simple as drizzling some water on the domes, and giving it 5 mins or so to break away. Some times a second clean is required or a gentle wipe when cool. The grills require nothing more than a quick scrape and the inside is easy to wipe out as everything comes apart so easy.BBQ,s Galore Turbo Classic with RTQ Burners
I bought a Turbo Classic before Christmas on the understanding it would chargrill steaks as my previous Bbq did - no matter what I try - lid up, lid down, on griddle plate or on grill bars just stews steak. No char outside with rare inside, just grey right through. Also, hard to clean, knobs get hot, RTQ domes get very dirty!
Very disappointing for an expensive product!!
Been looking at the Turbo Elite 4 Burner for a while, and now it's finally mine. First Impression, great build quality great instructions and went together well. I bought the Module and matching side table.
Used twice in the first week and the result was great. Now the wife likes her steak well done nearly cremated, wow what a difference being able to do her steak cooked through but not black, she was impressed, happy wife happy life. Me I like mine medium so full bore for a quick sear on both sides and turned to just up from low. Brilliant result!
I lined the bottom with foil to make cleaning easier.
If you cannot get the desired result with this product then you just cannot cook.
I've had my RQT Turbo Elite for almost 3 years. I love steaks medium rare with grill marks. To get this YOU MUST preheat the RQT burners for at least 5min on full. I use a water spray bottle to clean the quarts domes while they a red hot and never had a problem. Easy to clean. Best BBQ I've ever used.
A bit over priced and does not deliver on what was promised by the sales people at BBQ's Galore - It does flare up and has ruined many dinner when using the rotisserie even after cleaning it from top to bottom. I see where the design flaws and could be re engineered to prevent this from happening. I should have bought a bbq from Lifestyle BBQ's - a mate bought one and does not have this problem with flare ups at all.

I've had the Turbo BBQ for about 3 months and really love it. Its by far the best BBQ I've owned. Took about 1 hour to assemble and went together easily. The build quality is amazing.
Most importantly it cooks the best steak I have eaten. It heats up very quickly and cooks really nicely with the lid down. Also great for roasting.
Couldn't be happier...
Radiant Quartz Technology (RQT)
Bought a Classic 4B, swapped the cast iron grills with stainless ones on the Elite. Saved $900 on the price cause I got the classic with no side burner. The heat output is intense, the BBQ grills my steaks like no BBQ has before. Pretty wrapped with its performance, never thought I would spend over $1000 on a BBQ but well worth the investment.
Heat output, food cooking quality, technology, after sales service from the BBQ Galore store in Richmond.
Nothing really, price is high!
I have been looking around for a BBQ for quite some time, looking at the Weber Genesis and beefeater signature and Turbo BBQs.
There arent many reviews up on the new RQT burners on the Turbo bbq, some say they are fantastic, some say they are terrible. Eventually i decided upon the Turbo classic as it has 2 RQT and 2 cast iron burners. The turbo frame being double skinned and feeling the most solid out of all of the bbqs won it for me, that and their relaxed warranty terms. Staff were actually very helpful and knowledgeable, something which ...
Read moreisnt usually the norm at some bbqs galores. At first i was going to get a rock tray and convert the bbq back to standard burners but i gave the burners a go. First result: terrible, the heat was either not enough or too much. Second result: excellent, the burners cook differently, you are not meant to have them at their full heat since it creates flames at the front and back of the RQT burner. I asked the store about this and the high heat is for searing, efficient oven temperature and cleaning off the quartz dome quickly. I answered my own question because the burner is too damn hot on high for any cooking, dont know why anyone would cook at such a temperature.. Most cooking is done at a medium heat, and a medium high heat if you like your meat rare/seared. I loved the fact that i could manipulate the heat directly without waiting for it to cool down. The effect was instantaneous and has meant i pretty much dont burn stuff anymore. The best thing though, is that i upgraded to the SS grills. I chuck them in the dishwasher after a quick scrub and leave the RQT burners on high for a while and it cleans itself off pretty much. Being able to remove the burners too meant that i could clean the frame alot easier. I probably use the bbq more because of how easy it is to cook/clean compared to the conventional cast iron burners/rock tray. dry meat no more!If you think the turbo elite is a normal BBQ you need to think again its a radiant heat unit and therefore cooks a different way so you will have to experiment. I can understand why this BBQ has won awards its a great unit. Friends reckon that the whole fillet I cooked the other day was the best they have ever had!
Great level of control
You do get hot spots on the ends but easy to work around
