Monitor freezes with no control function
System worked for a few years then the monitor controls stopped functioning. Contacted Uniden support but not worth spending the money on repairing. Start again with a different brand. Worked OK at the start.
Purchased in August 2021 at Jaycar Electronics for A$399.00.

Unreliable at best
Supposedly the range of the wireless cameras are up to 50 meters, but of the 3 I installed only 1 works consistently. I suggest looking at other products if security is a high priority.
Purchased in September 2021.

Shocking!
Bought 2 units, both monitors gave way at about the same time. Buttons don't work, unit stays on, freezes constantly, horizontal lines through monitor, only activates sone of the time.Rip off for $600. Dont waste your money, cant even buy replacement monitor.
Purchased in November 2021 at Tweed City for A$600.00.

Great camera horrible application.
Units work well standalone, I purchased the dock that allows you to connect remotely the unit works but the application is of poor poor quality and let's you down most of the time not being able to connect this is with it being plugged into nbn and the mobile on strong 4g connection. I wouldn't recommend this product due to the horrible application.
Purchased in May 2021 for A$399.00.

It does alright for a home system...
We have owned the system for the last 3 years - due to crazy neighbours complaining of our barking dog - found to be them being the antagonist with the system in question.
The system has had its day that's forel sure - it seems to be working well enough to catch most things going on around the house (one camera inside and one outside) - the main problem is the main viewing screen which suffers OS seizures quiet frequently - which means resetting the damn thing all the time and finding out that it's not been recording....
The navigation of...Read more
the system is also pretty archaic - very mechanical and not very user friendly which is very Uniden in all their products. But on the flip side for what it cost in comparison to larger systems it works pretty well for what we need it for.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Don't bother you'll only be disappointed in the long run
I am really glad I waited to write this review. The reason being is that since we have moved house the system doesn't work as well. Not sure if there is interference with the cameras or what. The screen on the monitor has 2 lines of dead pixels which is annoying. When you record for longer than 60 seconds the module freezes and has to be turned off and back on to work again. The battery is horrible for only being 2 years old. Really disappointed. The cameras also no longer lock into their mounts as tight as they used to so its really hard to angle them to the position you want as they slip and self correct into another direction.

Great system.
We already have a uniden system attached to the house that is wired into our tv for monitoring but we wanted to add some cameras to 2 extra areas outside and well away from the house. So I picked this 2 camera system from jbhifi for $200. Really happy with the whole set up. You do have to plug the cameras into mains power but I'd rather that then run off batteries that need replacing and charging all the time. We have one plugged into one of sheds out back but the other one is all the way out the front monitoring the front gate so we have to ru...Read more
n an extension cable underground to go the distance. No big hassle as we knew this when we bought it. The wireless function is great. I have the monitor plugged into a power point in the kitchen so I can always see what's going on and the audio function is fantastic! I can hear everything so clearly and love being able to speak through the camera. Can be used as an intercom at the front gate which is handy. Also you don't need any wifi or internet connection if you just want to view the cameras through the provided monitor. Can't comment on using it through my iPhone as have not set that up and have no interest in doing so. Very happy with this purchase.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Cheapest solution for the deterrence, surveillance and recording
I have Uniden G1420 ($298) installed for my neighbour, a widow as she wants to know who comes to her place during day and night time. One at the front door and one at the backyard. After some modifications on the installation location at the backyard, she is quite happy with the system as it serves her purpose. I am thinking of buying this system for my own, as it is a cheapest solution for the deterrence, surveillance and recording purpose. It is wireless in the context that no cable is required to transfer the images to the tablet and witho...Read more
ut relying on the internet connection. With G1420, you can still see the image on the tablet even you do not have the internet connection. I have tried to use Skype to send the images to her mobile phone but it seems quite difficult so I gave up and $50 to buy the app does not justify. The disadvandtage of G1420 is that you need to wire the camera to the AC power outlet.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Records and displays outside of house at a reasonable price
This system has a display monitor and two cameras that need to be plugged into an electrical outlet. The cameras send sound and vision wirelessly to the monitor.
Setup is easy to join camera to monitor and I didn't need the internet but you need to use the internet for the app to monitor it on your phone. I think you need a $50 app dock as well possibly connected by cable to the internet. I don't have any cable connected to the internet for my system as I only use the monitor supplied. My problem is that the cameras are installed outside and n...Read more

Where do I find uid code?
2 answers
I am not so sure about your question. I did not have to enter the uid code and I cannot find the requirement for uid code for U1420 system from the manual. So I think you might refer to other system of Uniden or others, which requires you to enter the uid code for the supplier database. As I wrote, the communication between the camera and the monitor for Uniden U1420 system does not depend on the wifi or the internet connection. What you need to do is to pair the camera to the monitor (like to pair your mobile phone to the car audio system).
As I found out you have to buy app base so you can see camera on your phone. And this gives you your code, thanks for your help
