Don't waste your money

Great concept, awesome interface, hopelessly inconsistent operation. I have six of these cameras, terrific when they work but disappointingly temperamental. Using rechargeable batteries overcomes the hungry power consumption bit they quote often fail to detect movement, are slow to activate when movement is detected and only records for 7 to 9 second intervals. Often only recording the tale end of the subject exiting the frame. I have one camera that won't record or detect motion at all and goes offline every 2 days. Massively disappointing

I purchased my 4 x Solo+ cameras yesterday believing they will do the trick, good advise from the salesperson and some reading. I had trouble setting up and connecting to the phone. Now I read all the negativity, I now have second thoughts on the quality I am going to receive from the units. We have had a huge amount of house break-ins and my vehicle was stolen. Yes I know the horse has bolted. I was planning a weeks holiday and if these machines wont cut the mustard then a change to an item from another company might be the go.



December 21st 2022 Update: Solo+

I have had the same problem trying to connect. I had them working prior to the Telstra upgrade and my new i11 phone just wont connect. Not happy. Expensive not worth the money.

If you can connect to the cameras using the app you get decent picture and sound. Speaking thru the cameras does not work at all. I was told they where google home hub connectable which they are not.
Connecting to the cameras even when on the same network barely works. If remote it works about 1% of the time.
Turning on the motion detection will reduce battery life from theoretical months the 8 real days.

Seriously Disappointed

I bought this product because of the reputation of Uniden but this product really is useless! Everything is good EXCEPT battery life. Turned down every feature (that attracted me in the first place) and battery life is less than 7 days. I placed the 4 cameras up high so as to prevent theft and I need a ladder to change batteries. I am 67 and climbing ladders is not a recommended activity!! There is no way to use a plug-in power supply as no connection exists. I will dump these in the trash and replace with a powered system at the earliest opportunity.

Battery life sucks

Dumb the camera down until it’s almost ineffective and the battery life is still hopeless. This is its major drawback; it’s other features are great .....when it’s working. I wrote to Uniden to ask if they had solar or direct power line upgrades and they didn’t bother to respond. If it used standard batteries it would have been ok but those little batteries are expensive. For 16 decent recharchables be prepared to spend more $$$. Stay away from this product unless you want expensive dummy cameras.

These cameras are useless for security as they do not record all events. Playback can be patchy, slow or non- existent, OK for live if you want to sit there watch a screen all the time.

Work well but batteries cost a bomb

I’m happy with the system with one exception... you have to place cameras away from any movement like wind moving tree foliage because the batteries will be eaten up in less than a week and they are expensive. Will be going down the hard wire track next time because in the end it will be more reliable and the same cost

Very slow performance. Worst part is anyone can come and take it off from wall like a toy. It's just a little screw which even kids can play around with. Alarm is not very loud either, even next person can't hear that. Motion detection, is 7/10. It won't detect motion every time.
last but not least, picture quality is not well, you can imagine with clothes and shape but no such clear images. Not Recommended

We purchased 4 of these cameras works well but batteries need replacing every 3 weeks max
Very expensive to replace and very inconvenient
Would not recommend due to poor battery life

Installation was extremely easy and did not take a lot of time, the app was great and easy to navigate and the quality of picture was terrific. It also connected over a considerable distance which was something we were after. Then after week three the batteries in all four cameras died. It should be noted that we did not use the PIR function or recording, and the batteries in this product are not rechargeable. The result was $16 for a new battery x 2 for each camera, or $40 for a rechargeable battery per camera with a charger. You will spend your life charging batteries and spend more money on the batteries than the system! Thankfully we received a refund...don't waste your money.

Great camera, but lets itself down

Just installed Uniden Guardian wireless security camera. The quality of the camera is pretty good..... but! The instructions are very poor with little explanation of how to fit. The fitting mount is very poorly designed and needs some alterations to make safe. The camera mount is very flimsy and no security for a person to remove at their leisure. Uniden have let themselves with a great product that finally functions well so far.

Connected Solo+ to WiFi / router but the instructions then say "Create Password", slide the page to read the tips and tap "finish" to start the live view. Tap V to go to the "Devices" menu.
But:
1) there's no prompt for creating password
2) There's no V to got to Devices menu
3) The page doesn't slide anywhere
It seems that a password has already been entered ??? who knows??? HOW DO I RESET THE PASSWORD
I've tried re-installing the app, and resetting the cam but still the same problem.
