File Overwrite. If I allow this function, will it only overwrite files once the internal memory is full, starting with the oldest files?
so there should be 32gb of the most current files remaining on the card at all times?
3 answers
Yes only overwrites the oldest files. I suggest you get a 64gb card which lasts a full month. I have 2- 64gb cards and on the 1st day of month put the card in from the previous month formatting it, so it starts a new file on 1st month and keep for 1 month the card you take out for reference if needed.

Hi, do the cameras use WIFI to connect to the monitor? Or is WIFI only required if you want to use your phone/tablet app?

I have a 4 camera setup, I have had constant problems with this Uniden unit from faulty power supplies to cameras not working . My latest issue is with the spotlight camera . I have had to disconnect it as the spotlight constantly stays on . Any ideas how to rectify this ?

I have this model just wondering if we can save recording using cloud since it is connected to wifi. I am not satisfied with the 64gb as you don't always check it and i set my recordings to overwrite the old files. Is wifi enable external drive will able to save recordings?
1 answer
Sorry I Don't use cloud, I have 2 only 64 gig cards and swap them 1st of every month, and yes overwrite if needed, also reformat previous info when putting card in,

My G3720 seems to reboot itself every few days. I generally run it in scan mode so the screen is blank unless there is activity on one of the 3 cameras.
After it reboots, it returns to displaying all 3 cameras. I'd prefer this didn't happen because I don't want the screen to burn-in if we are away on holidays.
On a separate issue, the phone app is hopeless! Sure you can connect and view camera feeds but use the app for more than a few minutes and the connection is lost - even when connected to the same WiFi.
Being able to connect using a browser on a Windows or Apple computer would be great!

I don't think that mine even has scan mode, I haven't seen it if it has unless you mean the motion detection mode and the screen doesn't go black on mine. But, I'm still rebooting at least once per day and one of the cameras disappears and has to be power cycled to get it back and all three disappear and reappear lots all the time even if I'm only a couple of meters away from the cameras. I haven't seen any screen burn but then I haven't really looked. The mobile app just takes too long to connect to the cameras to be of any use and like yours, mine disconnects after a couple of minutes.

I recently bought the Uniden Guardian G3720 wireless security cameras. The instructions say the charge should last 1.5 hours but it simply does not work at all without being hooked up to electricity. Can you tell me if this product is meant to come with a battery installed?
3 answers
If you are talking about the tablet / screens, I remember that the battery was shipped seperately in the box, you need to install it, charge it and then the tablet will work indepently for an hour or so. I nearly thew the battery out with the packaging ! Also the phone app will not work unless te screens are connected to the internet.
Thanks so much Simon! The battery seems wrapped up in plastic and with cords hanging out and a white thing on the end. Does the plastic stay on or should it be removed? And does the white bit connect to something?
The tablet runs cordless but not the camera, the display unit looks like 80s technology so I would image that the battery is the same.

I saw a review elsewhere that said cameras had to have access to power. Does anyone know if this is correct? There is no power where I want to put one camera at gate about 40m from house. Thanks
2 answers
Hi Devil, You are correct this model of cameras does need access to power and the cable from the small transformer is probably only 5 m long.
That is correct and I had mine on my balcony and the power was further away than the door so I had to wrap the plug in plastic and weather seal it to get it to work.

Hi there. This may be a silly question but here goes.... my brother purchased one of the cameras only. Does he need to purchase the monitor in order to complete the setup ? He thought he only needed the camera/sensor and could just get the app for his iPhone to monitor as this is what the retailer advised. He asked me for help and I thought it best to ask you directly.
Thank you
Krisha

Krisha, I'm not sure because I don't know which camera he bought however, the one's I had would only work with the monitor. There may be another alternative now but at the time there wasn't, there are also some software programs that will interface with camera but I couldn't get i tot work with these cameras but, it did work with my Swan wifi camera.
Dianne Rasked
Is there somewhere on the monitor to turn off the images while staying connected?
1 answer
Hi Dianne, Yes there is a button on the top of the monitor that allows you to turn it off, it will light up if the cameras are activated then go off again after the recording is finished. I have had these cameras over a year now, the latest model may be different or more advanced. I have to say I am very happy with these cameras, great value for money.

I have been in touch with the Principal of Uniden and their Technical Senior. The number above is the customer service hotline and they assure me it is in service. They need to know the model number of the product in order to give correct information hence I can't relay. Could you try again - if you fail to make contact then come back to me and I will see if I can get a direct number for you.
Uniden advise further - "By the way, we also have an email address available for customer’s enquiries [email protected], we will respond within 48hrs." - hope this helps
