This vacuum is the best I have ever used .Yes it is a little heavy because of the suction. You can make it easier by adjusting the brush height. I have borrowed and used the Dyson and it is also excellent. I used my new cleaner strait after the Dyson and was pleasantly surprised how much extra dirt and dust it picked up. If you want a cleaner that does the job properly buy this one. The attachments provided are also easy to use. If you have family with allergies get the VAX . The extra sucking power sucks up all the dust and dirt from carpets, floor boards and furniture. Do you want a vacuum that is easier to push around or one that does the job properly.

Mediocre at best of hard wood floors. Suction is severely lacking and will only pick up dirt on the rare occasion and never all of it...
First it's a chore to use and then after you had a work out trying to use it you have to wind up the power cord not happy at all with this product also can't get into small spaces even with the hose and extra attachment cause the vac to tip over very difficult product

Very good suction and looks a million $$$ BUT would have to be one of the heaviest vacuums to push around so heavy i used it twice and went out and bought a MIELE upright.
If you have the slightest bit of back or leg pain do NOT buy this product.
Expandable hose
Not user friendly,Very heavy to push around you will hurt your back

We got this vacuum cleaner as we wanted one with good suction. It is a powerful vacuum function that picked up a surprising mount of dirt. However we found it very hard to move. Even doing one room is a chore and you feel you have done a workout by the time you have finished vacuuming the house. We were nearly ready to take it back, but as it does such a good job we will keep it but buy a smaller one to do quick jobs around the house.
Powerful suction, picks up all the dirt, long hose and lead
Noisy, very hard to move especially on carpet

The Air Force 2 is basically a good vacuum but is let down on a couple of points.
Firstly the extendable hose has limited reach and will cause the cleaner to tip over if you try and stretch it to far. Secondly when the extendable hose is in its stowed position it is nearly impossible to wind the power cord fully around the top and bottom storage points.
Thirdly, and the biggest problem is the design of the wheels.
The distance the wheels protrude from the bottom housing means that using this cleaner on a carpeted floor with underlay o...
Read morer medium pile carpet makes it very difficult to push or pull as the suction pulls the cleaner's wheels deep into the carpet, causing the base of the cleaner to rub on the carpet. The wheels rotate around a plastic moulded shaft and there is a reasonable clearance between the wheel hub and the shaft. But beacuse of this clearence, when the cleaner is turned on the loose fitting wheels are forced hard against the shaft and plastic against plastic is not a good low friction bearing surface. Using this cleaner is difficult on carpet and quickly becomes very tiring. Good suction, quality construction and robust power head design Stability when using the extenable hose, and the problem with the wheel designQuestions & Answers
I need an," instruction" how to use booklet for a vax vafthu 1600w. Just how it fits together as I may have a part missing. I just cannot connect the glass fronted cylinder to the suction inlet. Its about half an inch lower. Thanks to anyone who may give assistance. I tried to download the instructions but my computer wont let me. My email address kevinsolly5@bigpond. com If possible could someone email with attachment what I want as I would be very grateful. Thanks. Kevin

Read more, that carry spares for Vax machines. Regards, PhoebeThe vacuum cleaner sounds like air is leaking is this normal?
Vacuum cleaners should not leak air. Air will be exhausted via the filters. Need more information as to what the problem actually is. Do you mean it is sucking in air at some other point than the nozz...
Read morele? Where is the sound of the airleak coming from? Has the barrel assembly been properly and securely fitted to the vacuum? If it seems to be sucking in air from anywhere but the nozzle, take it back to the place of purchase and get them to check it out or send it back to Vax for inspection.Get an answer from our members and Vax representatives
