Broke in 3 months - no response from customer service
Dont waste your time with this. The cleanup of the machine is far more strenuous than hand mopping the traditional way.
- excessively loud
- small tank requires constant changing
- cleanup of tank, filters and machine can take up to an hour, and requires 24hrs drying time
- the mop roller attachment does very little on hard surfaces, builds up bacteria very quickly and requires changing for new after 6-7 uses
- super expensive formulas that are compulsory to use or warranty void
- no parts available for purchase in Australia
- customer service has been on leave since 1993
- product weight is about double that of a regular vacuum ...Read more

It doesn't quite hit the mark for me, but is still handy
My home consists mostly of tiles (4 bedrooms, only 2 are carpeted). I had done a lot of research on the crosswave prior to purchase and decided I "couldn't live without one!" (Maybe a little dramatic, but with 4 messy children... you get the idea!) So, my husband purchased one for me December last year. Although the idea is great, there are a few downsides to the crosswave. It is VERY noisy. I do the majority of cleaning of a night when the younger two are asleep, as I work through the day, so I am pretty cautious about waking them up with the ...Read more
crosswave. And after only a couple of months, I noticed that no matter how much i cleaned the machine, the wheels, the bottom etc, it leaves black marks all over my floor. This is extremely irritating. I have contact TGG where we purchased it from, but due to not opting for the concierge at checkout, there is nothing they can do. The cleaning of the machine itself does take a long time, but to keep it in top shape it needs to be done. The solution that you pour in to the tank smells delicious, and it truly makes my floors look and FEEL amazing. No sticky residue! Would I purchase another one? No. I love the fact that if my little one spills her cereal, or if someone breaks a glass or eggs or anything yuckky on my floor, i can whip out the crosswave and its hygenically and safely cleaned. However, I think technology is coming a long way and I'm keen to watch out for a new and improved crosswave in the future.Purchased in December 2021 at The Good Guys for $449.00.

Absolutely amazing!
I purchased mine online from eBay. I absolutely love this machine, not only does it keep my hard floors clean, it also vacuums my carpets better than my Dyson. I ended up cleaning the hardfloors in a house that hadn't been cleaned in a looonnggg time, and this machine still came to the party and cleaned the floors to pristine in the first pass. After seeing the results in my rented house, even my landlord has said she wants one for herself!

Best Purchase Ever!!!!!
I've had my crosswave for a year and a half now. As a busy full time working mum of 2, i dont have time to clean the house everyday. Having the Bissell crosswave has been a huge blessing for me, I'm able to vacuum and mop my house in 15 minutes, a chore that before this purchase would take at least an hour. The spare parts are easy to purchase as they're actively available at major retailers and the solution is relatively cheap. I'm so thankful to of found this machine.

I can do two things at once
Single-pass over a large area - 2 passes on heavily soaked/stained areas and floors were spotless in under an hour. It would have taken hours to clean this effectively with mop & buckets of water & soap...just dirt all around. This is AWESOME!!!

Replaced carpet with vinyl planks.... this machine is a blessing.
I detest carpet - particularly after having children and pets. We replaced our carpet with vinyl planks (I have reviewed these planks). As soon as they were laid I purchased the crosswave. I do two jobs once! I haven't used it for spills (I can not wait for the day). Half way through cleaning (because I have too many rooms) and to get an effective clean, I am required to replace the water, empty the dirty water container and perform the maintenance 'Easy Clean Storage Tray' task - if I don't the vacuum doesn't suck properly and dirty water streaks my floors. I love this machine!!

Very disappointed.
Do not recommend this.
Used twice. Second use was worse than the first.
Took it back to The Good Guys & bought another Dyson Cinetic Animal Pro.
The Crosswave Pet did not perform as advertised. It left marks on the tiles. Didn't vac the water up very well. Had used 3/4 of a tank of clean water but none in the dirty water tank. Had to go over the same area multiple times to remove dirt & grime from the tiles. Is supposed to save time vaccing & mopping all at once but because you have to go so slowly in order for it to function effectively actually saves no time. Can vac much faster with the Dyson then use my steam mop which also mops better than the Crosswave Pet.

Bissell Crosswave
Purchased 5 months ago. Brilliant Product I have two very large (hairy) dogs and this cleaner vacuums and washes in one go. My floors are CLEAN. Saves so much time. I did have a problem with the seal on the front cover and it was replaced quickly and no fuss. One tank does a very large kitchen/family tiled area and the rugs. I have given 4 stars because of the price but in the end well worth it.

I use my Crosswave on gloss tiles. It doesn’t leave them completely streak free but it does a great job for the time it takes. I couldn’t live without it now.
The only downside for me is it’s very heavy.

I'm a Bissell Convert!
I have a Dyson and a mop and I figured that was good enough. Moved in to a property with mainly very old poor condition wooden floors and no matter how much I tried they never seemed to look really clean. Spotted the Bissell Crosswave Pet on sale and after watching numerous videos, infomercials and reading many reviews I decided to take a chance.
The instructions are very easy to follow and it was relatively easy to set up. It was very easy to use. Light and easy to maneuver. I wish I had taken a photo of the water before emptying the tank - ...Read more
it was black! I used it only on wooden floors and tiles (bathrooms and toilet) as I have a Bissell Revolution for the carpets. Recently I gave my parents the carpet cleaner to use and while they had it my senior dog had a very large accident in my son's bedroom. As the Crosswave can be used on rugs I decided to give it a go on the carpet. It extracted all of the urine and actually left the carpet smelling fresh and looking very clean. If we had not had the Crosswave we would not have been able to remove all of the soaked in urine. The Crosswave is very easy to clean. It sits on a tray that you use to clean the machine. I do feel though that the roller will need replacing at some stage - so hopefully they aren't too expensive. The is a cordless version that has just been released but I am happy with this much cheaper version. Definitely recommend.Purchased in May 2021 at eBay.

Extremely shocked how well this performs
So I have carpet, vinyl and tiles. I have been an avid Shark user for years now as I love them. Best vac I have ever used. Whilst online I saw a preview of another 2in1 on FB and that led me to the Bissell Crosswave Pet. I decided it could NOT work as well as it did in the web site video. Nothing ever does. So I went to youtube and watched many real life demos. Oh boy I was impressed. It DID seem to work just as well for an everyday person. Even on huge messes. I I also read dozens of reviews. sn't), and a long haired husky. My floors get covered to the point I could fill pillows! This machine, if it works, would be awesome, but it needs to be able to remove the pet hair off the rugs. My dog likes to rub herself on the rug which pushes the fur in, and that makes it harder to get it all out. That was going to be the biggest test because even with my Shark vac, which has the roller brush, I need to go over it a couple of times. So I decided to try it out. I purchased the item and got an extended warranty also. So I tried it out the next day with some trepidation. I decided to solve the problem of not being able to get it under furniture. As I dusted the room i also dusted under and beside everything with an extended wand duster. I just pulled it all into the centre of the room. So the first place I tried it on was the vinyl. It sucked up every bit of dirt with ease. As it mopped the floor did looked clean. Then I decided to try the rug. This is a short pile. So I began to vacuum. As I did the crumbs and dog and cat fur literally disappeared. Even faster then with my Shark vacuum! That seemed to good to be true. But it actually was. I called my husband to looked. Even he was amazed at how incredibly well it handled the hair. The fact it also washed the surface of the rug as well was fantastic. It came up like new. It removed a couple of darkish stains my carpet shampooer didn't. Then I tried the tiles. Perfect. The reviews said it was hard to push on carpet. I found it very easy on the low pile. Reviews also said it doesn't work on longer pile. I decided to try it on a shag style rug. It worked! Yeh it was a bit harder to push until it got wet, but it came up great! Yes this machine DOES work exactly like it says. It is brilliant. I have only used it once so far and it took a bit longer than I expected. Shorter than a vac and a bucket mop however. But once I get fully into the swing of using it, it really will cut the floor cleaning time by closer to half. Oh and just to see how clean it got the vinyl in the kitchen, after the floor dried, I wiped it with a damp piece of paper towel. It came up spotless. Some people complain about the cleaning of the machine. I don't think they are used to having to clean out even their vacuum, so it seems annoying to them maybe. I have to clean all my Shark vacs often in the same way as the Bissell, so I did not find it a bother at all. Yes it is noisy but I wear earphones and listen to music so it does not bother me. It is actually Brilliant. I love itPurchased in August 2021 at The Good Guys for $449.00.

Love it on my timber floors
I have used Bissell products for many years. In particular, the power fresh steam mop. We recently moved into a new house with extensive timber flooring, tiled floors only in the bathrooms, toilets and laundry. I knew I would still use my steam mop for the tiled floors, but was hesitant about the timber floors. After much research, I decided to try the Bissell Crosswave Pet Professional, because I really liked the idea of only going over the floors once. Our old house had mostly carpet, so the only downfall to the new one was cleaning the floor...Read more
s twice. Now I don't have to. I am a very fussy cleaner. I don't have pets, but that doesn't bother me that this is meant for pet households. To me, it means it should be even better in a pet free household. I've been surprised at how good it is. For a start, the fact that you can send it back in 60 days is always a good sign in my books, no company wants hundreds of these coming back, so they must be pretty confident. Mine is NOT going back. It takes a little getting used to for the first couple of times, because it's a different way of cleaning. But, once you've got your routine happening, it's a breeze. I work from one end of the house, to the middle, then go to the other end, work back to the middle, by then, the first half is dry, so I can finish off, and sit down while the rest dries. The trick is, don't over spray the formula and drench the floor. The vacuum is really strong, so it's great at sucking up the excess liquid too, therefore helping the floor to dry. I love the straining filter too, so easy to get rid of the fluff etc. Our timber floor is so silky clean after, it's really noticeable, with a lovely sheen to it. When we first moved in, it was a little grotty, I've used the Bissell Crosswave Professional once a week over the last 4 weeks and it's come up beautiful. I love the cleaning tray that comes with it too. So simple to clean and spin the roller, then it all comes apart for simple cleaning, standing the roller up to dry. And, because it's cleaning, vacuuming and spinning it at the same time, it dries nice and fast, so it can all be packed away fairly quickly. I also like that the cleaning head comes apart for a quick clean, let it dry, then pack it all up for the next week. It's easy to see that by looking after it and keeping it clean, this will last for years. I gave 4 stars only because of one small downfall. It doesn't quite go to the very edges, there is a small piece at the sides where it doesn't wash. The vacuum IS strong enough to suck past the edges, but the floor doesn't quite get washed. Also, you can't get very far under furniture, because the head will tip up and lose contact with the floor. So, to remedy this, every few weeks I'll vacuum with my old vac and then wash the floors with my old Sabco mop and some eucalyptus and water in a spray bottle. Get to the very edges and right under the lounges etc. BUT... I WILL keep my Bissell because the timber floor does come up so nice, AND, it's half the time to do it. Hope this helps youPurchased in June 2021 at Harvey Norman Appliances Physical Store for $350.00.

crosswave disappointment.
I have Tiles... wood click flooring and Vinyl Planks.
Very disappointed with product.
I did a lot of research before buying this.
The vacuum is very good but the wash part of it is not good enough.
roller needs cleaning a lot.
my Dog has short hair, it would prob be worse with long hair.
I find I am much better off using my vacuum cleaner then my steam cleaner it does a much better job.
the Crosswave is only good for a quick touch up.

Makes life easier
After using it almost daily basis I can easily say it really is a time saver. We have a 9months old puppy and she does make mess and it was a lot of work trying to keep 100m2+ of tiles clean. With this product, it is a matter of preparing the water/detergent mixture and mop away. Despite the recommendations from the manufacturer, I tried various cleaning detergents as the one supplied wasn't cleaning the tiles to my liking. Although it did leave a very nice smell. Some detergents worked well some left marks behind, some didn't smell good. My su...Read more

I bought this vacuum mop 6 months ago and am so happy with it! I have hardwood floors throughout my house (including the bedrooms) and this does a great job of keeping them clean. I run it with the ‘wood floors’ solution and it does an excellent job - especially seeing as I have to keep them regularly clean with two little kids. You can imagine the mess! This works perfectly! Hi, I bought my cross wave a week ago.. they had none in stock so I bought the display model which had been used before for demonstrations.
Every time I use the cross wave, half way through a clean, the whole machine turns off.
Has this happened to anyone before? If so, could you tell me why please?
1 answer
Hi Renee, the Crosswave has an automatic shutoff in the case of the brush roll being jammed, or the machine overheating due to a filter blockage. Can you check all of the air-paths around the brush roll and it's housing, and the dirt tank are clean and clear of debris? Check the filter also, as being a display unit it may not have been washed or cleaned thoroughly in some time. I'd suggest calling Bissell customer care on 1300 247 735

I have just bought a Crosswave Pet and absolutely love it after giving my floors a fantastic clean. What I need to know is that the instructions say to wash the parts and dry them, but the paper type filter doesn't dry very quickly and I need to know can I still use the machine when the filter is damp because I like to vacuum and wash my floors every couple of days? Also do I have to wait until the rollers are dry or can i use them when the are still damp? Appreciate your reply.

I would leave the filter out to dry as much as you can (I leave mine out in the sun) before using the machine again - just to make sure moisture doesn't go into the motor. Maybe think about purchasing a second filter so you can rotate? I only wash the actual filter once a month though, it's the mesh part on the filter I find needs cleaning most. The brush doesn't need to be dry before using, though I pop it in the little drying caddy after use anyway. Hope this helps!
Thanks Brad you answered my question well.

Can you use this just as a vacuum on carpets or does it wash each time too? Looking to get one for mainly floorboarded house but don't want to have to get a separate vacuum just for the carpeted bedrooms.

I do I just dont put the wash trigger and it lift the animal hair
If you have low pile carpets and area rugs, absolutely. On thicker carpets you may find the suction will stick to the floor and it will become harder to push. If so, consider grabbing yourself an 'Area Rug' brush from the Bissell website - that will make dry vacuuming (and washing) on thicker carpets a lot easier.
