Early days but very impressive machinery
I bought the Victa 18" 82V mulch and catch mower, and the line trimmer with battery from Bunnings. I'm very impressed with both tools. Super simple to assemble and more than enough power for my needs. I used the mulch plug and it works as expected.
I probably swapped the 2aH batteries once for all mowing and snipping (approx. 350m2 of couch).
Batteries charge in 30 mins and the range is roughly 45 mins. This means you always have one on charge ready to go.
If you're in two minds about going cordless, I can strongly recommend the Victa ...Read more
82V range. No heading down to the servo to fill up a jerry can, stopping to add petrol mid-mow and worrying about it going stale in the shed. The mower runs really quietly, too. Trimmer is light, but feels sturdy - well balanced I guess you'd say. There is a harness included if needed.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good
This is a quality unit. As previously mentioned the 18” model actually makes better sense @ $499 because it has a 1500w brushless motor. The larger 21” model @ $799 only has 1200w.
No more fuel, oil or hard starts.
Also a 5 yr replacement warranty. Can’t fault the mower to date.

Perfect for small blocks
I've had Honda 4 stroke equipment for years. After moving to a smaller block, I wasn't using petrol fast enough, and it was going off before I'd use it, meaning I'd spend about 5-10 minutes getting the mower (+trimmer and blower) started. That, and the fact petrol equipment needs to be serviced, and the other ongoing costs, made me contemplate cordless options.
I wasn't certain about which battery mower to go with, but after running the numbers on battery Ah's, Voltage, warranty etc, the Victa was a smart choice. I also liked that the mower on...Read more

The best buy, Victor 82V mower
Was sad to see my old Battery enviro mower finally gave up, Went to Bunnings and found a grate buy, Victor 82V Lawn Mower, comes with a catch and it will Mulch, the first thing that got my eye was it had a .460mm metal base, not plastic, this size base makes it easy to manoeuvre, it also comes with a 82V 2.0AH battery and 30 minute Rapid Charger, all for $490 It cuts my thick Sir Walter with ease, it has 5 Year warranty

Victa 82-V Range cordless 18" lithium ion Battery
First use of new 18" 82v cordless mower very pleased.
Steel deck, essay to adjust cutting height, the grass catcher is easily slotted into place and stays put even over bumpy ground.
The battery lasted the back and front garden, two nature strips out front and two nature strips at side of house.
This was two catchers full of clippings (Catcher is 50 litres capacity)
My old Victa petrol mower took one tank full of for the above cut.
The battery still had two green lights on it after cut so plenty of capacity. The battery charged in 30 min...Read more

Why has Bunnings pulled the victa 82v electric mower from sale?

Peter, hopefully the Briggs and Stratton team (owners of the Victa brand) can answer this question directly, but my understanding is that has been some problems with a recent batch of batteries. I have been advised that those existing customers with fully operating units have no reason for concern. My mower is working perfectly with no battery issues whatsoever.
I agree mine is working perfectly and glad I didn't buy another brand

Should I still want one after not being able to buy one at Bunnings as I was told it had been recalled ?

I have personally contacted the manufacturer at 1800 356 632 today to inquire what might be the problem and have been informed that there is a batch problem with some of the batteries. I was also informed that if my mower is working ok, the battery is fine and I have no reason to be concerned. This product is truly well worth purchasing (has exceeded my expectations) and if you can continue liaising with the manufacturer and/or your local Bunnings store, it would be worth waiting (hopefully only for a short while) until you are able to purchase a product with the battery working 100% ok
I probably have a different view to Angus. I am a bit disappointed with the Victa because the exit shot blocks quickly with even slightly damp grass so would be inclined to try another brand. Ryobi seems to be liked by a friend but I haven't tried it
I bought mine about a month ago and very happy with it. I often cut wet grass and have no problem. I use one battery and take a 30 minute breather while it recharges because I have such a big backyard. I’d say persist with the manufacture because it’s a great product. You’ll love it too

When I went to pick one up from Bunnings they gave my money back and said it had been recalled ..... knowing that should I try and find one somewhere or pick another ?

Here in NW Tassie, Bunnings stopped stocking the Victa 82V range at the Burnie store just after I bought mine there. Wanted more batteries and had to shop online, ended up buying from Henderson Mowers and they have been great to deal with. Also bought the line trimmer and chainsaw from them, So Bunnings missed out. Really not sure why Bunnings would drop this line, given they are probably the best cordless mower available and make petrol mowers look like a bad joke.
Great mower, btw, and the line trimmer has tonnes of power, cuts everything you can throw at it, I use mine to trim the paddock edges, so it has to cut all sorts of woody weeds, does it no problem.
