I want to buy a hand whisk broom. Where can I find them? Can't find in stores anywhere. They are very useful. I am desperately hanging onto one I bought years ago. They used to be very popular.

I would not ever buy another vileda straw broom. Putting it together required a wrench - not available in most households. First time I used it straws started to come out. The biggest bugbear is the fact that it doesn’t lock in position. 2- 3 sweeps and it needs tightening.

Sorry Laurie, not the answer I'm after. Vileda whisk (straw?) long-handled brooms are for sale in Woolies stores, but not the short handled variety. Why?

how do you make the handle extend

You can't without tools, even though you are supposed to be able to. Most people I've heard of have used vice grips to twist the handle open. Useless product in my opinion. Waste of money.

Could you tell me where I can purchase a replacement Vileda Straw Broom head that screws onto the handle? I have so many handles as when the broom wears out I have to keep buying the complete broom.
Many thanks

I wouldn't bother. They are terrible brooms, with handles that are too hard to extend. I'd toss the handles and look for a different better brand altogether.

I just bought one how the HECK do you extend the stupid handle. Very frustrating

We put the handle in a vice grip and could then open it by twisting. It extends from the bottom

Bob - thanks for telling where it extends from. Putting so much force on the handle to twist it could break it if done in the wrong place. Terrible product.

I'm not find extendable handle

Hi there. I had the same problem. The extendable part is wedged in hard at the bottom of the broom. If you screw the handle around in the direction of twist to lock, the whole handle will detach from the broom. I used some vice grips to twist the grey part around in the direction it shows until it turned and then it extended.

Thanks Nicola...I had to use vice grips also to get it undone! Not great product marketing!
