Love Love Love
I'm not allergic to anything or vegan, I just like this more than any other milk. I go through it fast because I love the taste so much. Good on its own or in cooking or with cereal. Cant beat it. Thank you Vitasoy (not sure if you can top the price and taste of your chilled choc soy but id like to find out if you ever bring out choc oatmilk) yum
Purchased in October 2021 at Woolworths for $2.00.

Perfect for my coffee!
Since finding out I was lactose intolerant I tried a variety of alternative milks in my coffee and on cereal. Soy didn't agree with me and almond and rice milk are horrible in coffee! I tried Pure Harvest Organic Oat milk and I didn't enjoy the taste or texture, yuk. Vitasoy Oat Milk won out by a mile, great flavour and it gave me a lovely creamy froth on my coffee. I have to take my own oat milk with me to coffee shops because no-one uses it.

Much improved
Since my last review I had decided to try this product again since I heard from other people that the formula had changed again. On trying this product again it appears that the company have listened to their customers and they have made improvements and the flavour, texture and creaminess of the old formula has been reinstated to some degree not 100% to the way it use to be but a big improvement from the last time I tried it. Good job Vitasoy by the way I love your soy milky regular it is lovely and creamy perfect in my cuppa tea.

Great with a bit of honey and Carmans Meuseli
I must admit I changed from Australia's Own Oatmilk only because they dropped that line. Wish Vitasoy would put out one with a dash of honey.

Great Dairy Free Alternative!
When I first switched from dairy milk to non-dairy milk I tried soya and rice milks (not the Vitasoy brand) and both were horrid, particularly the rice milk! Then I tried Vitasoy oat milk and I was impressed!! The almond milk is pretty good too.
I would definitely recommend this product!

Vitasoy oat milk original
I really liked the oat milk original recipe, the unsweetened is horrible too powdery for me. Bring back the original recipe which is different as l compared the ingredients. Many of my friends agree about the taste. Why change the product when it seemed to be good - anything good usually disappears from the shelf. Please bring it back who ever altered the flavour what were they thinking?

Love this healthy milk.
I have been using Vitasoy Oat milk with added calcium and without for the past 4 years. I add it too my porridge and then microwave it. I recently had a cholesteral, calcium, vitamin D, etc test done and everything is excellent. My doctor told me that, whatever I'm doing, don't change anything.I just started menopause early this year and have had no hot flushes or weight gain. I don't know if this is due to the Oat milk I use in the porridge besides a tablespoon of LSA, frozen mix berries and half a banana but it works for me. I read that oatme...Read more
al, oat bran, pears, and strawberries actually bind to estrogen receptors in your body, which reduces estrogen activity on a cellular level. Flaxseed and sesame seeds also have an estrogen binding activity in the body as well. One of the responses is that she finds it too watery. Make sure you shake it good before you use it. It has happened to me before but I found out that once you shake it good, it is not so watery. If you have bad menopausal symptoms, give this a go and let me know if it works.Similar opinion? On the suggestion of a friend, I started using Vitasoy Oatmilk in the hopes of getting my cholesterol down without taking drugs. I had another blood test last week, and In approx 6 months, my cholesterol level has gone from the high sixes to 4.5. I'm rapt!

Love it
Started drinking this as I have high cholesterol caused by an autoimmune disease, and this oat milk is said to help lower cholesterol. I'm also on medication for cholesterol.
My aim is to tackle my cholesterol problem head on with full force, in the hopes that I can give up Lipitor and control it with oat milk and a high fibre diet (already have a low fat diet, however my high cholesterol wasn't caused by a bad diet, so not sure if this will work but at least I'm getting a good amount of calcium now!).
Took me a few days to get used to it...Read more
, but now I have 2 x 250ml per day as recommended and have given up cows milk completely. Really enjoying it and not missing dairy milk at all. I buy the 1 litre calcium enriched as a milk replacement, and also buy the 3 pack brown sugar & cinnamon, these are my daily 'treats'. Milk alternative, pleasant taste, hopefully helping to lower cholesterol Wish the 3 x 250ml packs came in 6 packs.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Too watery now
Title says it all, plus it tastes really different. I don't like the new taste. That's the crux of it without writing fifty words. It's simple. The old product was far superior. It tasted delicious. It was creamy and sumptuous. It satisfied me. Bring back the old version please. Thanks.
It is an oat milk.
Too watery and doesn't taste as good as it used to.

Vitasoy Oat Milk
I love Oat Milk. It took a couple of cups before I got used to it in my coffee (I give my Barista oat milk just for me) and I can drink it straight and it's excellent on cereals (e.g. Wheat Biscuits). Lots of people saying it's watery, silly because it's only like that if you don't shake the carton! Firstly, take the cap off to allow air in, and then shake it well (Shake well before use). It's definitely not watery. Rice milk is watery, not this. Price is about the same as soy, just a tad more but when on special I buy a box or two as it's long life. Perfect for me as a vegan too.
Great taste, is perfect for cereals
A little too expensive for me but I buy in bulk when it's on special.

Another unhappy former regular customer
I was very interested to read your explanation of the “small ingredient changes” that you have made from the former Oat Milk to this new so called ‘improved’ one. I wish to address a few issues, most importantly the issue of the wateriness which you stated “doesn't seem to be happening in all batches”. This statement implies that you are aware that batches are ‘watery’ and, as such, why are they put on the shelf for sale? Unfortunately every carton I have opened (various batches) is the same, which I assume means that you have obviously lowe...Read more
red the percentage of oats to water in this new Oat Milk as the colour of the product is at least half the whiteness of the old formula, the consequence of which forces a consumer to use twice as much of the product which of course is financially viable for yourself as the cost to the consumer is the same for an inferior product, which ultimately means that Vitasoy is hopefully selling more cartons. I would appreciate you prove me wrong on this issue. I still have some former Oat Milk cartons which are not out of date and I am wondering if you would be willing to “put your money where your mouth is” so to speak and organize an independent source in my town (or an agreed other place) to do a comparison of both milks which will definitely prove one way or the other whether you or I are correct in what we say because I know that I am as I have been a constant user of this product for years and am thus aware of the vast difference. Secondly, I am having difficulty understanding what your statement about “mouth-feel” means which is the reason you stated for adding tapioca flour into the Oat Milk. Why formulate Oat Milk then if you feel that it is an inferior tasting product? Is it because it is used as a thickener to compensate for less of a percentage of oats? I personally don't like this new taste. Finally, you stated that these changes are “in order to deliver a stronger nutrition benefit”. If that is the case, the thickness and colour of the new Oat Milk should not have altered from the old formula at all! Bring back the old oat milk and I will buy it again!!! Inferior product to the previous milk; very watery; at least half the whiteness of the old milk; cannot be used in coffee; awful taste; far too expensive2 comments

a flour. I totally agree with your comment. The new "formula" tastes terrible and Vitasoy has destroyed their own product. Even the Organic Pure Harvest Oat Milk tastes better now (I felt it used to be inferior to Vitasoy in the past) and at least you are paying the same price for an organic product which tastes better and does colour coffee a little more. Personally I am going to try a product called Growing Naturals Organic Rice Milk Powder which I have only just ordered so unfortunately I cannot give you any information about how good it is.Similar opinion? Oat milk has been changed.
I don't know why but with the introduction of the new packaging they have also changed the oat milk. It is nowhere as nice as it was before the change which is disappointing. It was almost exclusively my milk of choice, now I'm trying to find an alternative and have decided to try making it myself. I hope Vitasoy returns to the original recipe.
A good alternative to regular milk which I don't drink as I'm vegan.
The new formula is thin, not as creamy as the previous version, and doesn't taste as nice. It is no different to anything else to make it stand out as a better substitute.

Update 2015. Vitasoy has apparently listened and the oat milk is back to being more creamy. Very happy with the current milk.

I find Oat Milk just brilliant in every way!!
I have lactose and soy allergies so finding the Vitasoy Oat Milk has been brilliant for me. It is also much less expensive than the Hazlenut milk I was buying. I'm so pleased to have found this alternative. It makes an excellent coffee base and is good with cereal. The fact that it also lowers cholesterol is an added bonus. I would highly recommend this product.
Tast, texture, less expensive than Hazlenut milk.
Nothing wrong with this product

I have been using Vitasoy Oat Milk for years but recently the formula has changed and it is thinner, and much less creamy than before. Why is this?

I also have noticed a dramatic change in the oat milk consistency. I noticed the change when the new packaging came out. Are you able to explain why this is and if it is a temporary change? I love the original product!

Good
My 5 yr old boy uses this as he has so many allergies. He really likes it and won't drink anything else now! We only use it on cereal, which I think is its best application. The taste is actually quite nice. A little watery compared to cows milk or soy, but is refreshingly nice on cereal. We have tried other brands but this one has been the best.
A good alternative for people with dairy and soy allergies. Longlife carton means it can be conveniently stored in pantry until needed. Tastes pretty good.
Price is quite high. Not all supermarkets stock it. You can't use it as a milk substitute in coffee and most cooking recipes.

When it was the old receipe you could use it as a substitue for cooking I use to use it in sauces and soups etc all the time but this new recipe one you can't it doesnt work cakes and biscuits turn out doughy so I am not happy

Does this product really reduce cholesterol?? Or is it just another gimmick for sales?? Has this been proven and confirmed??

I'm not a dietician so I don't know the answer, and I haven't done the research. I haven't had my cholesterol checked since starting with this drink. But I am on medication for cholesterol, so the real test for me will be when my levels are low enough to stop medication and just rely on vita soy. Please note my high cholesterol levels are not due to diet, but are a result of an auto immune disease.
It is the Beta glucan in oats that is said to have cholesterol lowering benefits. Data seems to be consistent across the board that daily consumption of 3g or more can potentially lower bad LDL by 5 - 7% which led to the United States Food and Drug Administration approving the cholesterol lowering claim in 1997 and the United Kingdom Joint Health Claims Initiative followed suit in 2004.
