Poor experience even before the cooking began!
Purchased this unit on the weekend and excitedly assembled it in readiness to showcase visiting family with a bbq dinner...but the pins that hold the lid on were missing from the box. That put an end to that plan! Surely paying a premium price for a so-called premium product, one could expect a better experience. But there's more! I contacted the Weber support desk and all I got was an "ok we'll send you the missing bits in the mail". No information when they will arrive and no offer of compensation for the failure and inconvenience, even when i hinted that might be the right thing to do..Would I buy another Weber product or recommend them?

Love our Weber Q
Our family makes breakfast, lunch and dinner on the Weber Q. We use it for everything from pancakes and bacon to roast dinners. What I like most about it is the size. It’s not too big and not too small. We put a tray inside at dinner with veggies and meat and roast away whilst we sit and chat. Perfect addition to any family.

The heat is on!
Preherating is fast and cooking is fast and easy. The large grease catcher makes with opening at the bottom keeps the drippings and any droppings easy to clean up. Porcelain grills clean up with some elbow grease and safe oven leaner (even hot soapy water to soak in works) or the dishwasher.
The thing is they do not rust and do not have to be seasoned.
This is big enough for a family of four

Best BBQ by far
Despite having owned the traditional 4 burner hooded gas BBQs, I've never really enjoyed cooking on them - the constant attention required, the continual turning of the meat, the flames, trying to get different pieces of meat/chicken done to different tastes, and the very average results produced have resulted in me being something of a reluctant BBQer.
So when my latest 4 burner reached the end of it's useful life, encouraged by numerous positive online forum posts about the Weber Q barbeques, I decided to take the plunge and buy one, optin...Read more
g for the Premuim with it's higher hood and built-in temperature guage. One year later I can say that it has completely changed my outlook on BBQs. Cooking to specific times and temperatures have made it a lot easier to produce good results. I did lots of reading, and watched several online videos to get an idea of how to do things. I also invested in a cheap digital timer and a temperature probe. Cooking steak, lamb, chicken and sausages is now really just a matter of cooking to the times specified. And I don't have to stand at the barbie while it is cooking - I am free to socialise, and simply have to turn the meat when the timer beeps. Steak is done in around 6 minutes, chicken thighs in about 25 minutes. The smokey flavour is fantastic, and you can enahce this further by placing a small al-foil pack with some wood chips in while the Q is heating up. Salmon done on a cedar plank is delicious and easy. We have found that we now mostly cook our meat in the Q instead of the oven, and vegetables like broccoli and asparagus. It uses way less gas than my other BBQs, and is easy to keep clean. The triangular wire brush (thrown in as a freebie by the shop we bought it from) makes short work of the bits on the grill. We invested in the roasting trivett which enables you to do roasts. All in all, it has honestly changed my whole attitude to BBQs. I can now produce good, consistent results on the grill. I'm definitely a fan of the Weber Q.Similar opinion? Best small bbq
We have decided to buy a small bbq to replace our 5 burner Beefeater bbq as over the last few years we only ever used about the third of the plates.
After looking around & reading many reviews we decided on Webber Q Premium.
At first, I was a bit concerned with its small size, but it is more than adequate.
What a great little bbq!
Super easy to use - turn the gas on, press electronic ignition & you are set.
No need to play with the gas settings, just live it on full as per instruction manual.
The steaks cook super fast - so far 5minutes max for medium rare & sometimes it is even less.
The meat cooks very evenly & retains the moisture much better than our old $2000 Beefeater!
Cleanup is quick & easy too.

Use it because it grills better than is possible in the kitchen.
We use our Weber several times a week because it produces delicious food, with minimal clean-up. It is completely reliable. Ours is the model with electronic ignition and a thermometer which makes it easy to use, with consistent results. We have found that Weber stand by their products. Some rust appeared on the grille of ours after about three years, and on production of a photograph, evidence of purchase and the serial number plate, Weber sent us a new grille.

By far the best purchase!
I gifted the Weber Q2200 to my boyfriend for his birthday and we are both obsessed with using it! We cook almost everything on it and it's super handy when you go camping or having a party at a friend's house because it's portable! We also have the stand so leave it set up majority of the time because we use it so often. It's also a better looking bbq than most. If you know someone who needs a BBQ, look into getting this one. Great value for money!

Perfect BBQ for beginners
The Weber Baby Q meets all our needs. The main thing is that it is compact. We take it when we are travelling. It is easy to store and set up ready for cooking. As for cooking it is the best and easiest barbecue for beginners like me

Can't doubt the quality of build and performance
This is one hell of a BBQ, apart from great looks, it's got amazing performance. Meats come out cooked perfectly, thanks to the temperature gauge as well. It's very light.. only 18Kgs!!! and folds up neatly for storage.
The add on utensils are quiet expensive, Weber usually doesn't discount much... But I was looking for a BBQ which was top of the range and having read great reviews i couldn't go past that.

Disappointing with meat always raw or over cooked
We purchased this BBQ in December 2017 and I must say I am so disappointed with the way it cooks meat and vegetable. The meat is always overcooked or undercooked and even though my partner has now purchased a probe to use the meat was raw tonight awful awful awful. Made me feel ill. I actually don't want to eat anything cooked on this BBQ any more. My partner insists on cooking and I enjoy my meat well done but not charred which doesn't seem to be easy to achieve. There just doesnt' seem to be any happy medium. It think there should be looks of free cooking classes available for people to understand the way this BBQ works.

Fuel efficient
Can't knock this BBQ the 4.5kg gas bottle lasts atleast twice as long as the typical aussie 6 burner so although it's usually more expensive over time with the reduced use of gas it will pay for itself.
What I like about it most is how easy it is to transport and take it away camping!

Wonderful barbecue
My husband says it is "awesome". He is the barbecue chef. It cooks steak, rissoles and sausages very well and the food tastes really delicious and so different from the stove top. It is very easy to clean. The dvd which came with it was very informative. It is a little bit heavy for me to move but easy for my husband.

Perfect
We wanted a new BBQ and after reading a lot of reviews online decided on the Weber Q and we weren't disappointed. The BBQ and stand were really easy to put together and we found the dvd that came with it very useful, plus the food has been perfect, especially the chicken roast. I would definitely recommend it.

Best BBQ ever
Bought this BBQ for my husband for his birthday. Absolutely love it and makes the best steak ever. We love the Weber so much we bought an additional one for our camper trailer. My husband has a serious accessories stock, the rotisserie, smoking boxes, pizza stone, grill baskets, ceder planks, you name it he's tried it and he loves all of it. By far one of the easiest BBQ's to use and always, always, gives spectacular results. If needing to know what the internal temperature is buying the high top lid with the built in thermometer is the best option. Also allows for bigger roast to fit in the BBQ! We also have the patio cart which makes moving it super easy. Love, love, love both our Weber BBQ's.

Questions & Answers
Royce Rasked
I have recently purchased a Q2200 and find it takes a long time to heat up and if I open the lid to check or baste the meat, it takes a long time to recover the heat. Is it possible to retro fit the burners from a Family Q to increase the heat output?

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Royce, thanks for getting in touch. I'm sure we can get to the bottom of your issue here, and get you loving your Q! I'll need some further information below to help me get a better understanding of your barbecue.
Can you run me through how you set up your barbecue for cooking, and what you're trying to cook?
Are you pre-heating the barbecue? What dial setting are you using?
The barbecue is set up on an outdoor bench . I usually preheat for at least 10 minutes on high and then place the meat (if a leg of lamb) on the trivet and rack. During the short time taken to place the meat in the bbq, the temperature drops below 200 and struggles to recover . Yesterday I tried a large fillet steak (around 300 - 350 g) - again preheated for 10 mins and placed the steak on the grill for 4 mins each side and rested for 10 mins. When served it was completely raw in the centre and had to microwave to make it edible. I previously had a large weber genius model that had plenty of heat and would recover quickly after opening the lid. I feel the barbecue us way under powered and needs the same burner setup as the family or inbuilt model. I have replaced the gas bottle with a full one and reset the gas .
Dave S.asked
Hi. Could someone be able to tell me the dimensions of the unit (particularly the width) with the tables packed up inside. All dimensions I've found on the Web is with the tables out. Thanks in advance.

Hi Dave, the Q2000/2200 frame is almost 80cm at it's widest point.
Graeme S.asked
I have bought a q2200, and have gone to buy a swap n go gas bottle at Bunnings I only wanted the smaller one as it more portable for camping.
However it is only 3.7 kg, is this bottle suitable for use with the q2200.
Cheers for replies.

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Graeme, we typically recommend any size from 4.5kg-9kg bottles, as this is what has been tested on our barbecues- we use these sizes to determine the number of typical cooking hours that a gas bottle would use and therefore how long it should last.
That being said, if it fits on the regulator, then it is fine to use- you just may not get as many cooks on a smaller bottle.
