Hi
I got a zodiac g2 & I can hook it up and it goes for a 1 or 2 mtrs & stops. Disconnect from vacuum plate & hook up again and does the same thing. Any idea what could be wrong with it ?
You may have something caught in the diaphragm. If that is the case take the zodiac apart or it could be that the diaphragm has a split in it near where it goes on the plastic pipe. If that is the cas...
Read moree you will need a new one. If your unit is relatively new the pump pressure maybe to strong for your Zodiac setting. You should have checked this before you inserted the Zodiac. There is a spring tube that allows for the checking of pressure. Also, you may need a flat plate instead of the normal pool plate. This plate allows to to slow or speed up the G2. Finally do you know that you can adjust the valve that the hose is connected too. There are three settings. I did find the customer service team at Zodiac very helpful. I hope I have assisted youMy zodiac has suck ion but doesn’t move, the pipe doesn’t even vibrate
What is wrong with it?

Hi there I have just bought a zodiac g2 today and when I turned the pool pump on it was suctioning fine and moving by itself but once my pool pump had reduced its pressure down to a steady low hum about another 20 mins and the vacuum stopped moving and had minimal suction. I’m not sure if this is due to a problem with my pool pump (as we have had many problems with it) or a problem with the vacuum/set-up. Thank you for any suggestions and sorry if this is such a long question.
Thanks Mathilda
Hi sorry about the delay in responding. Did you do a pressure test in the skimmer box. It is important that you have the correct setting on the valve that goes into the skimmer box. A test device shou...
Read moreld have come with the G2. In my case my pump was too powerful so I needed to purchase a flat skimmer plate. If you have completed the pressure test then all should be OK. However, you may have a problem with your pump. Another consideration is checking to see if you have an obstruction in the diaphragm.Hi live in Perth wa have lots of spares for mine would like a new head at a reasonable price what should I pay and who should I buy from? Otherwise what is a comparable model?
I have a G2, had it for about 15 years, replaced several bits and pieces over the years to keep it going. I'm about to replace the diaphragm again. My issue is: ever since i replaced the ad valve the connecting hose comes off when the pump shuts off. I'm sure i read somewhere about what to buy to stop this but cannot find any info anywhere. Makes it impossible to just 'set and forget' for continual cleaning while the pump is running. Any advice please?
Hi Sandi, Please call us on 1300 763 021, we can go through his with you over the phone. Thanks.
Hi, I have replaced the diaphragm and cassette and there is good suction and works well until i put the cassette into the cleaner housing. It just stops working, take it out of the housing and it starts again, put it back in and it stops. Any ideas?
Hi, where can I purchase a wieght cover for my Zodiac pool cleaner? I live in Brisbane
Hi Steve. Please find a link to our Dealers - https://www.zodiac.com.au/find-a-dealer
Thanks!
Hi I have a g2 that has been working great. But for some reason it has started to float on the surface and I can’t see what’s wrong with it. Do you have any ideas?
Thanks
Paul Sagar
Hi Paul. May I ask if you have checked to see if there is Water inside the Float? Or a missing Hose weight? Thanks.
We have a G2 - and just realised the weight has dropped out as the weight cover has disintegrated. I think we can purchase a replacement weight cover but need help as we don’t know where it fits?
Hi Deb. Please call us on 1300 763 021, we can help/walk through this with you, Thanks.
Just wandering if I can use my hoses from my G1 model to a new G2 I intend to buy? My hoses are near new so I intend to buy only the head.
Thanks
Hi Liz, The Twist and Lock Hoses will fit with both of the G1 and G2, Thanks.
I can not get mine started. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I believe the diaphragm is ok. the head
is a bit beat up but only cosmetic. what hole do I put it in where the basket is normally. There is no suction at all
Hi there. May I ask if you have spoken to our Customer Care team? If the diaphragm has stretched you may not be able to see it straight away and it will affect the performance of your Cleaner.Thanks.
What is the life expectancy of a G3 diaphragm?
I took the unit apart and did not see ant holes or rips and it feels soft to the touch. The overall unit appears to work but will not move around the pool?
Sorry, I can't comment on a G3 diaphragm unless it's the same as a G2. I had a G2 for 13 years and replaced the diaphragm twice. That makes it a bit over 4 years a piece on average. A real lifetime ex...
Read morepectancy should be based on hours of operation but as I don't have the cleaner running in the pool constantly, that's anyone's guess. My new T5 duo is 5 months old and - so far, so good! Ours is a lap pool and the T5 ignores areas of floor at either end because it prefers to go charging around the wall. I am experimenting with introducing a slight bend in the hose just ahead of the cleaner so that it doesn't "follow the hose". That makes it change direction a lot more often & seems to work! Manufacturer take note.My Zodiac G2 machine head keeps unwinding & detaching itself from the hose. The head is lying on bottom of pool. Have screwed it’s back on as tight as I can but it keeps unwinding after a few turns ...

I have a new G2. It cleans well however it is very noisy in that the head pulses very loudly. I took it apart while operational (under water) and could not identify the issue as the noise seemed to be coming from inside the assembly not the rubber head as i took it off (it does sound like flapping). I have screwed the blue and yellow rings tightly. I installed it straight out of the box. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Steve
Sounds like too much suction, have you used the flow meter/gauge supplied with the kit?
We have a power saving pool pump, it runs at greater suction on start up then slows down,
our cleaner head ...
Thanks Greg. i used the flow meter and it is at 3. I don't think i can set the AD lower as the lever is on the bottom lip already. Yes I suspect there is too much suction as well. I'll play around wi...
Read moreth it some more. Thanks for the tip re the pump. Steve. What is the average life expectancy of the Zodiac Z3 had mine 4 years. 3 new diaphrams
Now the directional ring has perished ?
Hi Mark. Parts such of the diaphragm do need to be changed from time to time. There are a number if factors that can cause the part to fail. You should check your suction using the Pool Pulse to ensur...
Read moree that high suction is not causing the part to fail. Can you confirm what part you are referring to when you say directional ring? If you havent already, you can contact our Customer service and discuss the issues with them direct, 1300 763 021. Thanks.Have just replaced the foot on my Barracuda and the skirt keeps coming off. Does the skirt get soft or is there another reason I cannot see that it would persistently just come off?
I've only owned it for a month with no issues at all so I'm probably not the best qualified to answer. Perhaps the Zodiac rep will chime in.
Hi, The skirt on the Baracuda does need to be replaced from time to time as a moving/perishable part. If you are finding that the Skirt is doing this, it might be time to replace. Please call us on 1300 763 021 if you have any further issues. Thanks!
I have just recently had to replace my pump. my zodiac was working fine but now under the AD valve the little sprung hinge now lifts up almost as if the suction is too great. I also had to replace pipes to pump as old pump had a wider opening.
i have done some investigation and could be the springs on the valve according to the internet. $18 to replace springs or $40 to replace valve fully. do you have a recommendation?
thanks
Hi. Sounds like your suction level is too high, if your AD Valve is on the lowest setting, you may need a Skimtrol Plate. You can purchase these through your Local poo shop. If you need further help, please call us on 1300 763 021, Thanks.
My new Zodiac G2 has been installed carefully as per instructions and performs very well except it becomes stuck on the hydrostatic valve cover; which is flush with the pebblecrete finish. The return nozzles have been positioned to direct the flow down and towards the centre of the pool as per instructions. However, this means that two point towards the hydrostatic valve cover. Might this be the source of the problem? If not, what else can be done to solve this problem?
My Zodiac G2 is frequently flipping over, this has only just begun after approx 12 months of trouble free operation. Diaphram was recently replaced & the unit climbs up to the sides of the pool ok. I have tried changing the position of the weight but haven't had any success. Any ideas??
Thanks
Haydon
The head should rotate freely on the hose connection. Check that it does. If sand gets into the sleeve, it can restrict movement. May need to free it up by rotating and rinsing in pool water.
I have a G2 about 7 years old. The diaphragm is new but I'm still having issues. It has suction but it's no longer moving. I will nudge it with the pool brush and it may start up again. But will stop after a few minutes.
The other parts seem to be in good condition.
I'm stumped. Any suggestions?
Mine does this and its brand new! Im also fed up that it follows the same path and misses all the areas where there is debris!
Check that the suction pressure is sufficient (there should be a spring loaded tool for this test as part of your purchase) Also, check the hose for ANY leaks/ pin holes etc, and check if your flexib...
Read morele foot needs to be replaced ..after 7 years I would think it does, as may the skirt part. Also, even if you have a new diaphram, check it over well in case you have a small tear/ hole in it...doesnt take much, and sometimes rips when you try to fit it. Not much else can go wrong really.Try a new diaphram just in case as it sounds like it is not opening and closing, which makes the thing move around.
Sometimes you can get small sticks or the like stopping the diaphram from working....
