This is horrible do not buy
Every single slice had patchy bits, uneven colouring and the smell of the whiter bits smelled like bleach! So disgusting!!! I will never buy this brand again, what a disappointment!!
Purchased in November 2021 at Woolworths for A$4.00.

Found a raisin in the seeds and grains version. Pretty sure that shouldn't be there. Otherwise pretty good bread
Found a raisin in the seeds and grains version. The production line should be a lot cleaner than this for such an expensive bread. Pretty sure that shouldn't be there. Otherwise pretty good bread
Purchased in September 2021 at Coles Supermarkets for A$3.80.

Very tasty. Good size for my freezer.
I began buying this bread this year after becoming tired of the cheap ones from Aldi. Its a bit expensive, but I thought may as well try it. Was pleasantly surprised just how tasty it was. The crusts are softish & easy to chew. My cucumber, cheese, tomato & egg sandwich tastes nicer on this wholemeal bread than the other cheap Aldi one I was buying. I haven't noticed any holes in slices, or the bread falling apart like a few other comments on here. I like the small square size. They fit easily in my freezer.

s bread, it was $3.50 at Woolies. Now they have jacked up the price to $3.80. Not happy!!! I would say they are doing this because they are selling more of it than they used to. Nearly $4 for a loaf of bread is a lot to have to pay, but as its only my husband & me eating it, it lasts us longer than it would if I had hungry little mouths to feed in the house :) I'll keep on buying it, but if it goes up over $4 a loaf, I'll have to seriously think about it & look around for something else. Abbott's is very similar to Helga's. Its far nicer than Helga's. And 10c cheaper for a loaf at Woolies, too. I won't buy Helga's now if I can help it, but sometimes I have to as Woolies don't stock huge numbers of Abbott's bread each day. When I do have no choice but to buy Helga's, I sure notice the difference! The crusts are a lot harder & the bread doesn't taste as fresh or as soft.
Purchased in May 2021 at Woolworths Physical store for A$3.80.

Huge holes in the slices!!
I have been buying this product for months now, but lately there are huge holes in the slices and one cannot make a sandwich with a huge hole in the middle. I realise that the holes cannot be seen until the customer opens the loaf, but can't something be done about this?
Purchased in February 2021.

Disappointing
I have been buying Abbotts Village Bakery Farmhouse Wholemeal in an attempt to buy a better bread but sadly that's not the case, nearly every loaf has large air pockets in multiple slices making it difficult to make a sandwich, will have to try another brand after the size of the holes in latest loaf.

Large air pockets in bread
Purchased an Abbott's Farmhouse Wholemeal loaf recently and found an extra large air pocket hole in the middle of the loaf. The hole was through around 8 slices of the bread making most of those 8 slices unusable for sandwiches. The bread was purchased from Woolworths. Based on the number of similar reports I've now found backed up by the fact that air holes seem to be a regular feature in Abbotts Farmhouse Wholemeal loaves that we've purchased this year ( this latest was the largest however ) we will now change to Helgas or another brand.

False advertisement/NOT SUITABLE for Vegetarians & Vegans
This is the biggest disappointment, the ingredients state that their Farmhouse wholemeal bread is Suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans, however right above it, under May be present: Milk, Fish and Sesame. This is unacceptable and simply put misleading and false advertisement. If you are a Vegetarian or Vegan, this product/company lies and does not respect you/us as a consumer.

Bread ! Its more like swiss cheese-full of large holes
Given that the purpose of a slice of bread is to make toast or a sandwich this is not possible when most of the loaf has big holes in the majority of its slices.I tried the bread for a while and did not find a SINGLE loaf where the holes were NOT present.
Yes I did not contact Tip Top and the reply was that the comments I made had been passed on to production.
I have since tried Helga,s and there is no comparison and no holes. Good Bye ! I am now an ex consumer of Abbots bread

Garbage
I found a black lump of hair and goo in a slice the size of a jelly bean. Sickening, shows what a dirty production facility they have.

Truly Crumby Bread !
Since Coles had sold out of Helga's wholemeal, I bought a loaf of Abbot's Village Bakery Farmhouse Wholemeal & a loaf of their Light Rye. They were on special offer: $7 the two, I should have known better: both were cut price rubbish!
The supposed 'Farmhouse Wholemeal' was a discoloured off-white with patches of faded yellow & looked unappetising to say the least. The first bite lived up to it's general appearance:- damp, tasteless pap of the worst kind. I fed it to the unfortunate birds who, in turn, left it for the possums.

Gets moldy too quick
I like the bread but once again the bread was moldy before the 'Best Before' date. It is the 19th today and the date is the 'Best Before' date is 22nd. I had to throw away half a loaf. It is not even the rainy season yet so we can't blame the weather. I bake my own bread and have never had a problem with mold growing after just a few days.
I lke the taste and texture - simple and tastes healthy.

Excellent
great bread, will definitely buy again and again. I want to try the white next time, the wholemeal is very flavoursome and not bland at all. Contains good amount of fibre. Toasts very evenly and stays soft on the inside. pricey
toasts evenly and stays crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. Great fresh bread, always soft when we buy it and stays fresh for a good 3-4 days.
The wholemeal is very flavoursome itself and not at all bland or boring. Great size slices.
expensive. Almost $5 for one loaf of bread is steep these days.
