It's no old fashioned powerful 2 stroke Victa but then it's not supposed to be.
We live on acreage and I bought this to mow all the little bits around the house where the ride on won't fit. Prior to this I used either a petrol brush cutter, or an old Rover mower that weighed a ton, was a pain to start, and leaked more petrol and oil than it burnt. I already have quite a few 4Ah batteries as I have some of the Aldi shop tools. This little thing is great, cuts well, better than I thought it would, is a light as a feather fits all the places I need it to go, and the 4Ah batteries last quite a while.
I once used it to mow...
Purchased in December 2022 for $170.

OK for small yards and dry grass - but wet grass challenges mower
This was purchased as i liked the idea of moving away from using petrol and all the complications that introduces.
I already had 2 x 4amp batteries and 2 fast chargers.
The Positives:
Light, easy to lift in and out of car (when mowing mum's lawn), easy to maneuver, adequate number of height adjustments, OK size catcher, instant start / stop.
I found i could mow ~ 70 sqm with ~ 50% life left in the 2 batteries.
The Negatives:
Main gripe - struggles when grass is wet; I found mine didn't push clippings into the catcher but rather collected it u...
Read morender the mower. I would stop & clear this to keep going. In particular I paid attention to clearing the opening into the catcher so i could get a bit more run time before clogging stopped the blades. Catcher mechanism can be a bit fiddly to fit [metal rod sometimes mis - fitting into plastic slot] Catcher could do with a rear handle for use when emptying contents in a bin. Longer term durability...not sure how the plastic would survive and bumps into brick fences or the catcher slot after much use. Plastic would definitely not rust out - so maybe OK in coast-side locations??
Purchased in October 2022 at ALDI for $179.

Yes I have a 2x20v Gardenline Mower model GY0151, it still runs, but it seems to shut down as soon as I start mowing over grass. I need a repair guy. Anybody know of anyone in Sydney that repairs Gardenline?
There are safety switches, on handle.
Might be dirty contacts.
Battery contacts in battery compartment might be dirty.
Batteries might be faulty.

I've had the mower for 2 1/2 year now and the latest is:
Read more+ Still try to avoid using it when grass is wet; but I empty the catcher frequently + I still find it convenient to lift [lighter than my petrol mower I have given to the kids] and use [batteries are easier than petrol] + despite the plastic body and catcher mounting design [thin plastic hooks to locate the catcher's metal bar frame] - I was expecting this to have broken - but no - still OK. Negatives: - front wheel came off, a centering bush became lost, I remounted it (without the bush) but it wasn't quite right, coming apart frequently. ++BUT - I contacted Aldi customer service / warranties. The process was pretty painless. A couple weeks later I received replacement wheels and now i'm back to using my mower. Further tips; I found using the mower so easy that I would cut the grass more frequently. It took less time, and I managed to produce a better looking lawn. Frequent cutting does that - an easy mower facilitates that. Also - battery drain is about 20% [goes from 100% > 80%] and I assume the mower isn't having to work so hard. Final Reflections: Do I regret buying this mower....in hindsight - probably no. This was a successful - low cost test of electric vs petrol equipment. Would I buy another Aldi's electric mower? Not sure - I may splurge and get a Makita mower - stay tuned for that review [if it happens]. Would I change my score? I think yes - from 2 star to 3 star; This allows for a hypothetical benchmark 5 stars compared to a no limitations super powerful mower. To avoid any confusion - I don't suggest everyone ditches their petrol mower. Consider your situation, tolerance to the ideosyncrancies and limitations these devices may have but you may find the change is a good thing.Positives:
+ Still going OK despite the regular use....
