Dont rely on it to work!
Only works in some banks.. Constantly gets refused in south America. Comes up as stolen on the sellers machine, have to convince them not to call the police and escort me to the nearest bank. Called anz and was told "its not a problem from our side as far as we can see, there is nothing we can do".

Slow transfer of funds to the card
Obtained the card to travel to the Uk. Transfer of funds is disgustingly slow transferred 2 lots of money to the card one 4 days ago the other 2 days ago. Neither has appeared on the travel card. I have reverted back to a normal visa. Wife has a Westpac Card transfer on Westpac is immediate.

Worked in India. Didn't work in Vietnam. Support was 100% useless / nonexistent.
Totally unable to access any of my money in Vietnam from any bank. The advertised ANZ bank in HCMC doesn't exist any more. I called Australian support from Vietnam to sort it out and also sent multiple email messages to the ANZ secure mail because there is no support online available for travelcards. First ones were totally ignored. Phone call cut out because I had very little credit (that comes from not being able to access my travelcard money...). Didn't email me back.
Eventual email support replied but ignored my problem - just accepted my travel plans.
Emailed them again and they said they can't help. They gave me a BROKEN URL to contact. WTH!
Whatever you do, DO NOT GET THIS CARD!

Easy to use
Recently went on a 10day trip around Singapore and used this style of travel card for the first time.
Obtaining it from ANZ was quite simple, it even includes a back up card.
It was so easy and convenient with plenty of ATMs that accept it if cash is needed and ATM fees are not much different to back here in Australia. We used it as a general eftpos card and just selected SGD upon payment and no fees were incurred and it was never declined.
We had previously loaded it with Singapore dollars and with the login details was quite easy to keep t...Read more

Wish we hadn’t got one.
Got locked out on one card because I made a mistake entering my pin. Tried to contact them with the information from our bank and could not get through. Tried to top up my card but couldn’t from overseas. Successfully changed my password to my account to check the balance and mix of currency and it will not let me into see my balance even though I can still access my money. It is a huge waste of time would have been better with cash. ANZ were not helpful at all to us overseas and we have been a customer for decades.
Absolute nightmare way to handle your finances overseas. Lot of the time when I tried to access the web site it was showing “ Can not access the Server”.

Terrible
Hard to find landing page on google search. Transferred money on Friday, didn't appear on card until Wednesday - 5 days on holidays is a long time watching what you spend. I was told I would pay a fee if I got money out at ATM. Never again.

Frustratingly unreliable - doesn't do what it claims to
We pre-loaded an ANZ travel card for my 15 yo daughter to have sate access to money while on a school trip in Indonesia. Not only was it frustrating for her that it never worked at ATMs in Indonesia - she could never get out cash at ATMs - buying things on VISA credit was hit-or-miss in their acceptance of the card, It was also hugely inconvenient!! Her teacher ended up having to loan her cash every day, and we had to pay her teacher back when she got home. Extremely disappointed in the card.

Travel Card stopped working overseas
I've been to Switzerland and France the card only worked in some places but once I got to Spain it wouldn't work at all! Tried calling the overseas reverse charges number got left on hold. I hung up as I don't know if it actually was reverse charges. Very upsetting as Anz recommended the card instead of taking cash. Won't be getting in one in my future travels.

"Unclaimed" funds
Seven years ago I purchased an ANZ travel card for a trip to Europe, the UK and the US. I loaded all those currencies on it. When I returned to Australia, I went into an ANZ branch to claim the balance remaining on the card. I was told that it was not possible to be informed of what the balance was .. but leave it with the bank and they would refund the money into a nominated account. I completely forgot about the whole incident until today, when I received an email from ANZ travel card informing me that there are funds remaining on my card. So...Read more
they never refunded the balance to me or even told me what it was. Turns out is was roughly $UAUD300. Now I have to go back into an ANZ branch to finally get my refund. Wonder if they're cleaning up their act after the Royal Commission? Feel cheated.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Worst travel card. Stung on conversion rates
Conversion rate to EURO was ok but lost over $200 On the awful conversion back to AUD. Would use qantas cash card over this any day. Never use again due to this price gouging in return

Terrible
Agree, ANZ useless. Step one clean up the website. Wish I’d read the reviews before I ride to “load“ my travel card. Yesterday was told transfer but B pay from my ANZ deposit account would take three business days. Its now 5 business ess days and no transfer and I’m sitting in Vietnam.

Absolute rip off
Took 3 days to load $950 to the card and the conversion rate was ridiculous when unbeknown to me auto loaded to EURO. After I did wallet to wallet Transfer back to AUD I lost a total $101.80 c in conversion fees + an additional $21.07 foreign currency conversion fee when I did an ATM withdrawal all for an 8 day trip to Malaysia.
Will be shutting this Tavel card down immediately and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
Take cash and exchange yourself.

Useless Product - complete letdown on expectations
- Use less Product
I transferred money in 12/07 to my travel card by Bpay (only option to top up your travel card), I was told 3 working days to get the money.
Today is 18/07 and still no funds in my travel card.
I would be stuck in a foreign country depending on this useless product.
Fellow travelers beware. Complete waste of time and causes nothing but angst while traveling.

Beware of hidden fees of 8.3% when you withdraw money
8.35% Fees. Used in PNG. The common ATM is the Bank of South Pacific. It limits withdrawals to K500 ($210) and charges $7 per withdrawal. The ANZ charges a further $7 and and $3.50 fee. So total fees are $17 or 8.3%. In addition ANZ makes money on the exchange rate (which at 2.38 was no better than the cash exchange rate which the banks make money on already). Definitely a card to use as a back up emergency option rather than an everyday card. Hint: Use your credit card instead but to avoid high fees before you go load it up with a positive ...Read more
balance. Also; Poor website. The travel card website to manage your account is hard to find, And the transaction statement only shows the last few transactions so I had to ring to get the full transaction history. in fact it is on the website but hard to find. Also : Expired cards. On a previous trip I tried to use it in NZ without success. When I took it into the bank they could not explain why. In fact it had expired (but neither they nor I noticed the expiry date on the card). My question is : When my card expired why did I receive no email or letter warning me? Even though I am a long term (25 years) ANZ customer. Also: As a long term ANZ customer why cant I link this travel card to my existing accounts and simply access it through the same portal? Then I can move money easily between accounts. Also: Apparently when the card expires the bank simply keeps any unused money for 7 years before returning it to the government! And finally: Being rather sick of all of the above when I do go to take all my cash back out they will charge me a final $3.50Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Completely useless and a pain to travel with!
Takes over a week to transfer funds!
Have to log on and can't be linked to my anz bank account!
Would never use this again, NAB and CBA much better travel cards where app can be used to transfer immediately.
Extremely disappointed.

ANZ TravelCard and comparison with QantasCash
The cost of travel.
Previously I wrote a fairly scathing review of the ANZ TravelCard. This was mainly aimed at their web page account details or lack of. I decided to test the differences between an ANZ TravelCard and Qantas Cash card.
This was two ATM withdrawals done in Fiji on the same day, which is not a currency used on either card. The results were interesting:
Transaction date 18/06/18
ANZ Travelcard (Visa)
FJD $200.00 withdrawn from ANZ ATM in Fiji.
FJD $15.00 ATM access fee.
AUD $131.26 converted from FJD $215.00 (215/131.26 = 1.638)
AUD $5.64 unsupported currency fee.

this is a useless product, just use your normal bank debit card- this card can be lost or cancelle
this is a useless product, just use your normal bank debit card- this card can be lost or cancelled and the balance given to the government, there is also a lot of hidden and associated charges with this type of card. In my view a totally unnecessary product and a rip off.
