Totally useless
My bf just transfer 1500 AUD one and half week ago and until now we can’t still get funds which is nonsense, and in Europe I can’t use this useless card to buy bus ticket at machine And also online, if I knew the product was so bad I could just use my normal card without any issues.

I would not use an ANZ travel card again when travelling.
I found this card an expensive option to use when travelling. I recently travelled in South East Asia. The ATM fees are high. Some local stores would want to charge 3% on top of purchase price. I felt a little annoyed with the sales officer whom when discussing the card heard me ask how much it would cost me to use the card in Thailand. When she told me the cost I said ok that is great. At this point she could have mentioned well that fee is charged by us, the Bank owning the ATM will also charge you. I know it is in the small print b...Read more
ut I feel this omission was obvious. Yes, it did take 3 days to reload the card and yes I was charge another fee for doing this. Next time I will just take cash and a couple of credit cards. Margarete 8/6/2018Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Won’t use ANZ Travel Card Again
I have used an ANZ travel card since 2011. I obtained a new 2018 ANZ Travel Card as I had not been overseas for a few years and my old 2011 card had expired. I went to the branch to set up a new card and load US$2,000 onto it for travel to Hawaii about a week before leaving. I had a lot of trouble with registration of the card and went back to the same branch the day before leaving. They told me that it could have had something to do with my old card not being cancelled properly. The money had been withdrawn from my savings account but I could ...Read more
not access it. I asked if they could transfer my money back to my savings account but no it couldn’t be done as the card had not registered properly - very stressful on the day before your leaving to have these hassles. Eventually the branch manager got involved and pulled a few strings with Travel Card management and it got sorted out on the day I was leaving and the card was registered. Then whilst in Hawaii every time I withdrew cash from a Bank of Hawaii ATM I was slugged a US$3.50 fee as well as an A$2.50 fee. The balance showing on the screen was in A$ rather than US$ which made it difficult to track my expenditure. I tried logging on to the ANZ travel card website to track my transaction history but had difficulty finding where to log in and then couldn’t log in. Eventually when I returned to Australia the branch helped me to reset my account with a new temporary password and then I was locked out of my account again after failing three times to provide a suitable password. The password requirements for this website are over the top! Eventually I had to ring ANZ travel cards and check each transaction over the phone to reconcile the accounts. The exchange rate I received at the beginning to convert from A$ to US$ was US$0.72 per A$, which was OK. When I withdrew my money and cancelled the card I calculated that the exchange rate I received for my ATM withdrawals and other purchases whilst overseas was only US$0.62 per A$. A total rip off due to all the fees that were charged by ANZ and the foreign banks. I will not use this product again. Next time I will just use my Visa card and take cash. It’s not worth the hassle - come on ANZ you can do better than this! Look at all the lousy reviews on this website.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

One big lie
Will never use it again! Hidden charges, wrong currency swaps, problem to use at ATM and shops. Not nice customer service, not eager to help. They just brush you off. I’m really disappointed with you anz !

Good Experience and Features
I got an ANZ Travel Card for my one month trip to Europe and England. I visited a branch to apply and got everything set up within minutes. It's free to load money onto the cads the first time so make sure you transfer enough money. The cards were easy to access online and viewing the transactions was no problem at all. I loaded two types of currency onto the card and when I'd spent all of my Euros it started to deduct the Pounds which was a great feature. One of the cards did stop working after a few days however they issue two cards with separate pins so that was easily sorted and the second card lasted the remainder of the trip.
I would recommend and use them again.

ANZ Travel Card
It was too easy to obtain. It was hard to use, could not get 24/7 assistance while in Germany over Christmas. Now I am having problems getting the $1,000AUD remaining on it refunded. I am still waiting, 4 months later, for an explanation from the bank of several amounts debited and credited then debited again at a higher amount. Until they explain it to me I am unable to get my own money. There was no satisfactory customer support, even now after arriving home in mid January.

Terrible
Terrible. I transferred money to my travel card while overseas and had to wait 5 days (over the weekend) for my funds to be available. I was left without funds for that time and incurred extra borrowing costs. The system proved to be complicated and clunky. Never again.

Be prepared to not have access to your money
The ANZ travel card can take your money straight away, but a deposit will not be accessible to you for at least three business days. Add weekends and Australian public holidays and you may not be able to access deposited funds for up to a week. When you stay at international hotels or apartments these days, the place can take a security bond which they say they only use to “freeze” the funds and don't withdraw...but it actually does register as a withdrawal, and when the hotel halts the transaction you are left waiting days to access the money....Read more
We have lost access to $500 pounds due to this happening, thats $1000 au dollars....most of which we wont get back now until after the holiday is over..at which point I bet this shoddy ANZ bank will charge a conversion rate back to aussie dollars. Slimeballs. On top of this, unlike other debit or credit accounts, it does not let you see the name of the business you have purchased from until you get a statement, which you only get once a month! You can only view “recent transactions” where it lists the ten most recent as a “purchase” and the amount. Yet the name of the business registers instantly on my other account so why should a travel card be aby different. Really poor for tracking expenses. Finally, when you ring the travelcard number for support prepare to be on hold for anything up to twenty minutes. Really great on 8nternational mobile rates. All up, the travel card has cost us far too much as we have not been able to access our funds and have had to use our other accounts anyway.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Terrible experience - Considering leaving ANZ as a customer
I purchased my card in Sydney - long process and the bank employee could not speak business English at a proficient level (only completed one transaction I requested and she forgot to do the other one - I went to another ANZ branch to complete the second transaction to avoid her incompetence).
I get to Japan only to find out that 70% of my funds have been taken out by someone else. First international call to ANZ travel card services led to a woman who couldn't speak English properly again! She couldn't even look up the transactions I was ta...Read more
lking about. Here I am in a small town in Japan getting stressed and not receiving proper assistance. Called again and got through to a guy who was able to clear up the confusion - I was told that 10000 ANZ cards had been hit by some Brazilian scam. Yet NO notification was sent out to customers and it wa up to individual customers to discover the scam and report it. Guess how well that went down when I was in a foreign country with my child? Took a bit of work with the ANZ consultant to work out a plan of action. No initiative from him I had to guide him through it. His first terrible solution was to 'post a new travel card to Japan which would take a minimum of 5 days to get to me - cannot believe the silliness of the suggestion. At this stage I am still waiting for ANZ to 'investigate before returning my money'. I lost on the currency exchange, can't access MY money, had to lose out on exchange again finding a different source of funds. I will be leaving ANZ and taking my multiple accounts to CBA next week.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Pathetic customer service
Try phoning from overseas to this company and beware of doing that during their dinner break or late into Australian time like after midnight. Good luck getting hold of them. This is so even for stolen or lost cards!!! it’s daytime overseas. It heaven forbid if you need them at that time. I have complained to a supervisor previously but nothing seems to have changed. They can ignore your call all night long!!

Such a useless and expensive transaction fee travel card in the world!!!
I’m very not recommend this card.

One day it works another day it doesn't
Several times I tried to login and simply check my balance or do some transaction. Sometimes it works but some days it rejects the user Id or password. When I try to restore or change it I get the answer: User is not registered.
I am going overseas and have no idea if it will work at all and cannot see how much I have in my account. Terrible feeling! It is my money and I have no control over it.

Unusual for ANZ
I am a current ANZ Bank customer. I have done business with ANZ for 51 years, from a mere savings account to many local and international business accounts which I have no issues with at all. However, I cannot believe ANZ would let themselves get involved with such an unreliable and user unfriendly product. This Travel Card borders on being dodgy and after the bad experiences and grief I have had in almost every aspect of using the ANZ Travel Card including transfer of funds, closing off a currency from multiple currencies and incorrect withdrawal disputes, I will never ever trust ANZ for personal international currency products again.

Unacceptable
Currently overseas and have to wait 3 days for money to be transferred onto my anz travel card. This is not acceptable considering other travel cards get money transferred on instantly. They also scheduled an online update from the 18th of February to the 19th February from which you would not be able to access your account. It is now the 20th and I still have no access. It also doesn't get accepted at some places. Not a trustworthy or efficient card.

No problems in The Netherlands
I found the card easy to load, to transfer money from another account and easy to use. I had no problems finding ATMs and money was withdrawn without problems. I used it in stores and again no problems. Used it later in Paris and everything went smoothly. I do not know how long it took the transferred money to clear as I did not wait until my account was emptied before I transferred.
I recently lost my online password so rang customer support and found the man very helpful and understanding. I have personally recommended the ANZ Travel Car...Read more

An ANZ Travelcard is a nightmare
Every time I transfer funds to my ANZ Travelcard I have to wait 3 days for it to clear into my Travelcard account. A friend with another bank’s Travelcard gets his funds immediately upon transfer. A THREE DAY wait is unacceptable when travelling and can often leave you in a precarious financial position.

Purposely cash out function was locked. So that I only get to use credit purchases.
For four full days after arrived in Bali, I couldn't withdraw any money from any ATM bc cash out function was locked. I only had 100 usd during those four days, imagine how desperate I was in that situation. It was one of the most terrible moments while traveling overseas. Just a terrible scamming service. I highly avoid to recommend this ANZ travel card at any costs.

Don't bother if the card is for a minor!
Wouldn't go with an ANZ travel card again for a young person. We got this card for my 15 year old son going to the US on a basketball trip. Card does not work all the time, the ANZ help line would give me no information as the card is in his name (as recommended to do by ANZ) and when he rang the helpline I don't believe they were helpful at all, just told him to wait for 24 hours. I had to reset the PIN numbers from Australia (as we assume they don't work from incorrect attempts even though the website said they were 'active'). Even then h...Read more
e had to wait for 24 hours for both cards to reset. Luckily we organised another visacard as an emergency otherwise he would have no access to any money. Don't know why ANZ can't give parents access to parents while minors are travelling OS and be a little more helpful on the 'help' desk when minors ring.Similar opinion?
