wow, its great
i did considerable research prior to buying this machine.... i compared a number of machines from the overly expensive dutch gazelle to some pretty trashy chinese no name imports and everything in between ( i actually rode 8 different models)... finally settled on the apollo eon nexus despite concerns of its range.... get this in perspective, i am 54yo, 110kgs and not an athlete although had regularly ridden a standard bike but was finding knee pain was making me want to make my life a little easier... sensational is all i can say... the bike h...Read more
as a nice tight feel, front motor with a very slight hum when under extreme load has an economy or higher power setting and surprisingly a longer range than i thought... at least over 45kms so far... this will differ dependent on the amount of peddling pressure you help with i assume... the motor progressively assists from start till approx 23 to 25kph after which it cuts out and will re engage the motor when you go below this speed again...you have to have the pedals moving for the motor to assist so this keeps one busy... the 8 speed hub gears are easy to operate and well spaced, and brakes are solid performers disengaging the motor when applied... overall a great bike... the battery is lockable and slides very easily under the rack and i managed to put a large basket on top of the rack without causing a problem with getting it in and out... this has got to be one of the better secrets of the peddle assist bikes and i can highly recommend it... ideal for melbourne terrain... easily defeated the punt road hill... tight feel, build quality, well thought out would like lights that run off the battery :-)2 comments
update, the Achilles heal of this bike seems to be the alloy rake that holds the battery.... had to have it replaced twice now as it cracked.... however was replaced at no cost under warranty...

Hi Chris . It was a great bike and I think I ended up doing about 35000 kms on it before I had an accident that wrote it off. I don't believe they still make them and I ended up buying a smartmotion e-metro which is even better. Most e bikes now are crank drive which personally I think is a bad idea so torque goes through the chain and gears. Anyway suggest you look up the one I suggested as it's very good and tough
