Terrible
I have not had two macbooks and have had problems with each. The first had Tiger and the second Leopard. The first laptop had problems accessing the internet through my router and strangely enough would not go on any google pages. Apple were unable to help me. When this problem exceeded the measly 3 months phone support window they refused to talk to me and told me to take the laptop to a store. I sold it. Sometime later I bought another one, this time with Leopard on it. This time there were no issues with accessing the internet. However after...Read more
around 2 months the case cracked. After a lot of toing and froing and arguing apple agreed to fix it even though it was a known problem according to many online fora. Anyway after getting it fixed I had gotten a sour taste in the mouth and decided to sell it. I will probably never buy another Apple laptop again. The OS is easy to use but only for novices. It is not supported with enough freeware and it is not easy to play around with in terms of configuration. One of my real bugbears is the poor Apple service compared to what I get from Dell and HP. Whenever I have a problem with one of the latter a repair person is at my place the next day and fixes the problem no questions asked. Apple behave very petty and always assume that you are at fault. As far as I am concerned I have not time for companies that behave so arrogantly. So I will not recommend it to anyone. Very nice and clean appearance, very easy to use, great resale value, very nice size and nice weight, great keyboard and lovely screen, Have had problems, very poor apple support, not easy to configure when things go wrong, fragile, light on features, poor battery lifeSimilar opinion? I have only had my Macbook for about five months but I have found it to be a fantastic product. It is not too heavy and starts up quick and is very easy to use. I have never had any problems with it and it looks really cool. You can find a variety of cool covers to product it. Not too expensive when compared to other Apple products.
I love my Macbook because it was not as expensive as other Apple products and it does everything that I want it to. Very easy to use, starts up quick, has a nice feel and easy to get used to how it works. Looks really cool as well and there are a variety of funky covers you can buy for it.
Some of the functions such as the scroll pad do take a bit of getting used to if you have not used a laptop before.

OK
I bought the equivalent of this model over 2 years ago while still at uni and have been very satisfied with it. Great for doing basic tasks, writing essays, surfing the internet etc. However, if you want something more powerful in the graphics department in a MacBook, you do need to consider saving your cash and getting a Pro with a good graphics card. Seeing as my MacBook is getting a bit tired and I need something more powerful and more compatible with my school network (I am a teacher), I will be switching to a Sony Vaio soon. I had consider...Read more
ed getting a higher level MacBook Pro and installing Windows on it, but ultimately it is just too far out of my price range. This is a good base level laptop if you want a MacBook - very reliable and it will serve you well. Very reliable. Had this computer for over 2 years and it hasn't failed on me yet. Plus all the pros of being a Mac - no viruses, great software, excellent usability. The fan on mine is pretty overactive. The computer heats up and the fan goes crazy when viewing any kind of flash (video or games). Not great for gaming, video or photo editing or anything that requires good graphics.Similar opinion? Good
This is the best computer I have owned. I use it for watching video, recording music, stocking my iphone and general office and web duties.
It has been a real workhorse as it is used at least 4 or 5 hours a day. The monitor is crisp and displays text and video very clearly. The keyboard is not too small and the mac OS X is a fantastic operating system.
I upgraded to a larger hard drive which was easy and cheap (about $100). Moving all my photos, documents and music was a breeze thanks to the inbuilt Time Machine backup utility.

We wife called me for help very often whenever her pc crash. I bought her a macbook and I did not hear she complain about computer anymore. She is enjoying it and saying how easy it is to use Mac OS.
Switch from pc to mac, life is never the same again! Stable OS, clear LCD display and good hardware specs.
A little bit heavy (>2kg) and poor battery life.

Good
Ectatic. That's how I felt when I first had this Mac. It's simply stylish and powerful, intentionally exceptional. The iSight, Bluetooth, WiFi technolgy are all easy to use with this item. Thanks to the magnetic latch, the lid closes firmly (no problem with opening it too). The keys are great to type on, the speakers have just the right amount fo sound, the specs are mega powerful. There may be shortcomings, but they're hardly noticeable.
Simple and clean physique. The specs rock!
No Expresscard.
