Maybe, the best value IPS monitor.
Asus VS SeriesJust buy this LCD with my brand new computer. I order BenQ GW2250HM, but because the stock is out, so my boss pick Asus VS229H as the option. slight pricier, about USD$10~$20 more than BenQ. but lucky I didn't know this LCD is IPS (lucky me). IPS is famous due accurate color (whether your panel type is), and this one also use IPS, accurately, e-IPS, which cheaper than higher grade AH-IPS, but still deliver quite accurate color.
the monitor on factory setting is quit nice, but too saturated for me, so, I decide search the calibration for thi
... Read mores monitor. The reason because I know this monitor is IPS, so at least, even it's cheap, at least I can pull out accurate color form this monitor. so, I found this site, and they put callibration setting for this LCD: http://www.prad.de/en/monitore/review/2012/review-asus-vs229h-part5.html The result of calibration? in my eyes, is same as iMac that I use on the office that I use. even I compare the image and is same. color is beautiful and accurate as iMac, and even the print proof that I work also accurate. but on the Prad.De, they stated, "The monitor can even be used for non-professional graphic processing". and yup, even accurate for me, but maybe for more critical, better spend with more pricier and high class IPS. they achive 94% sRGB coverage on factory setting, it's mean more accurate than common TN Panel LCD. the color on Standard and sRGB is so perfect for work that need color accurate, Theater mode is also nice for pooping out color, contrast, sharpness, and detail. I don't use Gamer, Night View, and Scenery, but Standard mode is already perfect for me to do anything. The LCD respond is 14ms, and support up to 1920x1080. the bad is the respond time, I feel slight ghosting, but not much too prominent, but still nice for playing games. the must you know problem is purple haze and light leak on bottom corner edge of monitor. for me, is very prominent, and distracting, specially when the LCD is blank/ on dark an dtotal black color background. but for normal use, is not very prominent. the viewing angle also not as wide as higher class IPS, but for normal and watching movie with few friends, is already nice.Questions & Answers
