Baby Lock BLCS-2 Coverstitch Questions & Answers

Hi Lisa,
The Babylock works brilliantly on Spandex, Lycra, light weight Jersey & all stretch fabrics. I mainly sew stretch fabric & make a lot of swimwear, it’s a dream to use & stiches perfectly, I’ve had it for a few years now & she purrs along!!
I wouldn’t be without it :)

Hi,
It comes with, instruction manual, Guide fixing screws for table, lint brush/needle insert tool, package of assorted needles, Allen screwdriver, tweezers, needle threader, chain/coverstitch needle screw. Accessory adapter, looper threading tool, screwdriver, machine cover, thread nets, spool caps, sponge discs & cone holders. Mine also came with a clear foot, a pintuck foot and a fabric guide, these are optional extras but I got them in the deal.

To be honest, the heaviest fabric I have sewn is denim, a 3 thickness seam, with no trouble. I haven’t sewn upholstery fabric but have sewn light canvas for aprons. Maybe contact the ladies at Sewco in QLD, they are very knowledgeable & could probably help you. Sorry I’m not much help in this matter.

I bought mine from Sewco online, the ladies were absolutely lovely and as I wasn't able to have the lessons, any questions were answered over the phone. The great thing is that my machine has been totally trouble free and stitching perfectly for a few years now. I'm still very happy with my machine and the place of purchase!

I haven't actually looked to see, I just bought mine online without any demo. It is a dedicated cover stitch machine, however it is great for doing other creative things. I love seams on swimwear & stretch fabric stitched wrong side out!!, joining fabric, hems, necklines etc. The chain stitch is decorative, running four different coloured threads to coordinate with your fabric makes for a cool look.
I use "Bubba" on nearly every garment I create!! I must admit, I have several other machines in tow, all performing different duties!!

I would recommend paying for a lesson with your local baby lock shop (they should be trained by baby lock and have a folder full of examples done with all the accessories). There are so many accessories you can get! I've got a bias binder, belt loop folder, single hemmer & knit binder. Thank you Gijam & clutchgirl for your help. My nearest babylock dealer is about 1 1/2 hours away so will have to try and make appointment to go there for a lesson. My machine came with the binder so will definately watch that video...Nelle

Hi Maggie, can't totally remember the price without going through my Visa statements! somewhere around the $2,200 mark from memory. I bought mine online from QLD and if I lived there lessons were available. I had no problems with contacting them and the girls were only to pleased to help. I've never really needed to ask much, as the machine isn't at all complicated. I've been using it for over a year now and it's never missed a beat, such a great buy, best investment in my sewing room!
