Exquisite Tree baubles
Christmas tree baubles purchased on sale, arrived on time and even more exquisite than shown on the website. Storage boxes will keep them safe for many years. One bauble was slightly damaged and the company offered to reimburse me a fair amount; this was received promptly.

DONT BUY FROM THEM
Bought a $1200 tree in June last year (so we would miss the Christmas rush and shipping delays) well it took 3mths for the tree to arrive (no problem Christmas was still 3mths away) open the box top of tree misssing base is broken, call the customer service center (what customer service!!) took two weeks for some one to respond, finally got a response and they asked for photos and said they will send out the missing/broken parts (but I’ll have to wait 1mth until they get more stock)

Do not bother with Balsam Hill. Last year, we purchased a tree ($700!? Fine okay, so excited to have a real looking tall tree) and were told to wait 6 weeks for it which okaybusy, but we never received the tree and tried to contact the company, unable to. So in the end had no tree and had to stuff around with my bank provider to get the money back. Please save yourself some trouble and look elsewhere.

Great experience despite reviews
I had already bought my tree and garlands and was surprised to see these terrible reviews, I have had nothing but great experiences. A 305cm pre lit Vermont White Spruce and 10 garlands 305cm which all looked the same as their picture and were great quality. I bought in 2016 and lost the adaptor which they replaced for free in 2017. Sadly my items were damaged with flooding and they are all out of stock on the website, and I wish there was the range of the US website available here (impossible I know but would be nice if we could order those items through the AU website) but I will be replacing with more Balsam Hill as the product is great and the customer service really good too.

Do not purchase!! No refund given!
Disappointed that the Canadian Spruce Xmas tree did not look anything like the photo on-line, I returned it within a week using their Couriers as advised. 3 months later still no refund I phoned often to have the matter resolved but got no where. Just slippery customer service people who apologised but didn't resolve my case.They are based overseas, so very difficult to contact on the phone... a very frustrating experience and I feel like I have been robbed! Do not purchase from Balsam Hill.

Buyer beware. I bought a frosted fir tree 2016 and the 'frost' sheds like dandruff and falls everywhere. But the problem was that I bought it Xmas 2016; receiving it December 2nd. Took it out the following year - highly likely to the day and it looked like crap. I contacted Balsam Hill about it Monday December 4th 2017 and they suggested I fluff and fill. Read moreacement but nobody actually got back to me when it mattered - Xmas 2017. Needless to say there was no Christmas tree for my family 2017 and this issue is yet to be resolved by Balsam Hill. Balsam Hill customer service are apathetic, unresponsive and make promises they don't keep. My previous 'cheap' tree lasted me 20 years and looked the same year in year out. Don't risk it and waste your money. I wouldn't give them 1 star.
Nice tree, friendly service
I returned 2 trees before landing on one that I really liked (Dec 17). The customer service team were friendly and efficient in arranging the returns. The major issue I had was with the length of time the return took to process (>30 days). The tree itself is not as full as the online picture suggests but it is still a really lovely tree and is far nicer than any I have seen in department stores.

Terrible experience! Be aware!!!
I bought a tree on the 2nd for December I was really excited to received it on the 5th but when I opened the 2 boxes realised they send me two exactly the same boxes with the same parts. After taking to someone from customer service they told me they couldn’t send the correct box as the tree was sold out in Australia but they guarantee I will get a full refund and someone will call me within 48 hours to arrange pick up. Its a nightmare to try to talk to someone who can help me as customer service operates from what it’s looks another country with different times and no managers available. Thieves!
Where to start? Firstly, as others have mentioned, they do not tell you that you will be charged an international transaction fee for paying with your card because you are not buying from an Australian company. This would be fine if they would actually tell you on their webpage. It is dishonest to present what seems to be a final price for a product when it really isn't. Surely they should not be charging my card until they have confirmed that they actually have the product in stock. Finally, Balsam Hill said they will refund me, but I do not understand why in this technological day and age it takes 30 days to provide a refund. Purchased a tree on line, paid in full, receive an email a couple of days later to advise that it is out of stock and my refund will take up to 30 days. So Realistic!
I bought the Monterey Pine Christmas tree and at first glance everyone thought it was real. I had no problems with delivery or condition of tree upon arrival and was pleasantly surprised at how simple it was to erect and take down again.

The McDonald's of Christmas Trees
I was so looking forward to my Balsam Hill Christmas Tree as I had wanted one for years. The tree looked nothing like their photo. I was told to wait a couple of days and fluff it out. Well no amount of fluffing was going to fill the gaps in this tree. So I organised to return the tree, that took long enough and a phone call every day for a week to get the thing picked up. No refund
Bought a tree in November received it but did not open thd box. I returned it within 2 days. After 7 weeks I still have not received my refund. Each time I call them (at leastv12 times) they assure me the refund will be paid within 24 hours. Still no refund. Luckily I paid with paypal and have lodged a dispute.
They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. Even the staff I have spoken to on the phone were very embarrassed. STAY AWAY

Happy with the end result
I bought the Mount Washington tree from Balsam Hill all in all I am quite happy with my purchase. It is a very heavy tree which could and will make storage a nightmare. It went together well and every light worked. It did take a long time for me to get it to look like the web page and in the end I did manage a reasonable facsimile. I ordered it and it was delivered with in a week. That did suprize me considering they use Startrack Express.

Have finally received refund
Now we have our refund -We returned a Christmas tree as leaves were not the colour it looked like on the website - and were informed we would receive a refund less $25 fee. This was on the 8th November and still after nearly 8 weeks and numerous phone calls have not received a refund, although promised on several occasions by phone and email would be done in 5 days.

Not happy with this company at all. We bought a tree through their website & paid by credit card. The next day we received an email advising they are out of stock & they will process a refund. That was 2 weeks ago and we are still waiting for the refund. My credit card is due to be aid & I will be out of pocket $650 which is not ideal close to Christmas. We phoned Balsam Hill customer service & they claim the refund can take up to a month. What a joke!!! Buyer beware!!!

Avoid, better quality trees available else where.
We recently purchased the Monterey Pine from Balsam Hill to replace a $60 tree we had from Aldi. The tree looks beautiful, full and lush on their website. Unfortunately, my tree resembles "Charlie Brown's" Christmas tree. Even after spending 2.5 hours shaping the tree, the foliage is sparse, flat and not as full looking as the tree on the website and sheds all over the floor . I complained to Balsam Hill that the tree was nothing like the listed tree on there website and that I was going lodge a complaint with Consumer Affairs. They have since now agreed to allow me to return the tree and have issued an RMA. I am still stuck with the $25 return shipping fee, which I am more than happy to pay to get rid of this tree, I would never recommend Christmas trees from this company as based on my experience, the quality of the products sold are of a poor and inferior standard and nothing like what is shown on the website. They are pretty dishonest as well as I had posted a negative review based on my experience over a week ago and it has still not appeared on there website. I gave 1 star. Utterly atrocious inventory management
Balsam Hill has been unable to fulfill two separate orders which I placed online when their system was showing they had stock. The first time I placed my order, my credit card was charged, only for Balsam Hill to email me the next day to say that they had no stock. I very nearly didn't buy a tree after the terrible reviews on here, but I thought I would try it and return it if unhappy. I couldn't be happier!!!! The tree arrived quickly and well packaged. I love all the extras the gloves, the storage bag, spare bulbs etc. The base had a fault, I called up and a new base was sent out immediately no questions asked. The tree looks amazing! I can't stop looking at it. SO HAPPY I went for the pre lit, looks so tidy. Assembly took about 5 minutes! I thought it would require a lot of fluffing but it doesn't all, it literally falls into place and then you just even out the branches. The pine smelling decorations are just the icing on the cake. Would recommend this tree to everyone!
Fantastic tree and quick delivery
I was very sceptical about buying a tree from Balsam Hill after reading so many bad reviews on here. I’m so glad I decided to proceed with the purchase as it’s exceeded my expectations. It’s my first false tree and it looks incredible so realistic better than any I have seen in stores. Delivery was quick and so easy to assemble. Highly recommend

What a disappointment!!
I regularly use product review.com.au to research products before purchase. I regret not doing so before buying a Balsam Hill Christmas tree. The tree I received (cost over $300, on sale) looks absolutely nothing like the tree advertised. It had loose/broken branches, and many lights not working. The biggest disappointment was the sparcity of the branches and foliage. Big gaps, and could never be described as "realistic" as on the website. Today, I have phoned Balsam Hill. The girl on the phone was friendly and obliging and has advised that she will arrange return (by courier) and a full refund. I am hopeful, but not confident after reading other reviews here. We'll see.

Tree arrived frayed, with big gaps and no gloves
The tree arrived quickly but had big gaps especially at the top of the tree, with frayed trunk binding and no gloves. The company sent a pair of gloves and advised to cut frayed binding and fluff the foliage like the instructions. There are no extra branches to fluff.

Awesome wreath and garland - best quality I've seen!
Just received my BH Fraser Fir wreath and garland and I'm so impressed. I was apprehensive after reading some reviews - but so relieved I ordered them - they are great quality, well packaged with spare globes and arrived within 3 days. I'm so impressed - I'm ordering more garlands. Not sure why they have a "NSW phone number" as it goes to Europe - which isn't great when wanting customer service questions answered as you have to phone at midnight!! and I did receive a international credit card fee which shouldn't happen without warning customers.

I really don't know why they have such a bad rating here. Maybe the happy customers have no reason to leave reviews because they get what's expected? I don't know.
I placed an order and decided that I wanted a different tree a day later. I emailed them and they arranged a swap for me an hour before dispatch. They even called me a week later to follow up with my order and to see if everything was up to standard. Great customer service if you ask me. Great team, great tree, great experience. I'll buy another in a year or two.

Poor service and rubbish trees
Ordered a tree for my son. Literally spent hours upon hours 'fluffing' the tree. In the end it looks nothing like the tree on their website, which looks like it's had some serious Photoshopping. We emailed the company who sent us a video on how to fluff a tree. "Done that didn't work".
