Bought the monterey pine,. Smaller than website and less full looking. But looked nice after decorating it and the quality is good

The first photo is what was advertised. The second is what I got .... for hundreds and hundreds of dollars .... need I say more?

Poor quality
Purchased the ornaments set of 35, very expensive and disappointed with the quality. The glitters fell off and the decorations fell apart, looks like they used cheap glue or sticky tape. Requested a refund and all they could do was offer $15. Absolute insult.
False advertising with website pictures
The tree that was delivered looked nothing like the picture of it on the website. More like a $50 big w tree rather than a luxury $450 tree. It was very disheartening to open the box and see id essentially been scammed out of 100s of dollars through false advertising.
6 weeks on from my purchase I have neither a tree nor a refund, my tree has now been "lost" in the post.
So no tree, and no cash for me. Very disappointing, would not recommend to anyone.

Disappointed for the price
Was really disappointed with our tree. Unpacked and found one of the branches had not been fitted and was just hanging also a huge gap in between the top & bottom. For a luxury product it is not worth the money. Returned for a refund
International Transaction Fee Charged
Australian website domain, Australian phone number for support, delivered from Australian stock, paid in Australian dollars (and GST) and slapped with an International Transaction Fee as it was processed in the US. Beware. There is nothing on their website or help guides.
I'm really disappointed
I purchased a tree from the Christmas in July sale recently, it arrived swiftly. I set it up to make sure all worked right, I was expecting a tree with 'easy plug' just snap it together and away you go, that is not what I got! my tree had connections in the tree itself, plugs that had to me put together in order for the lights to work, all up 12 of them. and to top it off after an hour of fluffing there are way too many gaps for me. Several days of persistent ringing and emailing I finally got an them to take the tree back postage paid, now lets see how long my refund takes!
Utterly disappointing
What you see on the website is NOT what you get ! My tree was sparse - not dense with foliage like the website details . Lights are very dim . I was utterly disappointed with the quality given the price they demand. Beware - No refunds after 7 days - so if you buy your tree in their October sale - you’ve got to put your tree up in OCTOBER !
Waste of money
I wish I had read the reviews first.
So over priced and the cheeky condition of theirs is that they only refund within 7 days of purchase.
I purchased mine in November which I'm sure a lot of people do as well and leave it in the box until December..well before I even opened it the 7 days has already lapsed.
I spent $700 plus on a tree and it's terrible..the bottom is too gappy that makes it look cheap.
The worst part is the white snow falls off even when you lightly touch it so to set it up created such a mess..
I wish I had my time again..I would of gone to Myers and still saved money and had a beautiful tree.

Super Slow Shipping; False statements from customer servicd
Very slow to ship; false emails
They claim to ship the same day, but in my case they claimed my tree was shipped on time, but now on the sixth day FedEx has finally today got the tree. Customer service doesnt back the company website shipping claims, so dont order a tree from Balsam Hill unless you can wait a long time for it. Note: I could drive from my home to their facility in about 3 hours. Yet it will be a week of shipping if it actually shows up when they assert. Customer service did nothing to help and initially responded with a shrugged shoulders approach. Eventually I at least got an email of tepid apology.
Very poor service and expensive and no teee has arrived
I orders a tree 7 days ago and the money has come out of my account and no confirmation, no order number, no tracking number. I have sent my bank statement and address and name and phone number and nothing. No tree and I am out $500. Beware this site could be a scam. If I do not receive my tree in 3 days I will be reporting f the company. Now I have read the other reviews I am aware that I am not the only one very very very disappointed as my children await a Christmas tree....
Not happy
Poor quality. Over priced. I received ours today. We wanted a small one so that we could place it on a table so the kids (2yr old) would not destroy it. Looks nothing like the photos. Worse than BigW or Kmart and at 5 times the price. DO NOT BUY!!!

So disappointed
I bought a pre lit Silverado Slim Christmas tree.
The tree is very gappy and sparse. I spent hours shaping it before adorning with decorations but nothing could make this tree look good. The branch tips are not strong enough to hold even light weight ornaments. A total joke considering the price. Buyer beware
Wont purchase from them again
They use StarTrack as courier. Even though I was home all day they left a note to say I should drive for over 40 minutes in city traffic to their depot to pick it up. Won't purchase from any company that uses StarTrack again
Disappointed
I have admired these trees for several years and finally took the plunge and ordered one. After two hours of fluffing it looks no better than my old tree which cost 1/10th the price. You can see through the branches and it is no where near as full as the photos on their website. Good points are the tips are fine enough and strong for holding decorations and lights look pretty at night. Would I buy another balsam hill tree? No. Not worth the price tag at all.
Not worth the money..
I bought the 210cm Norway Spruce. I was really disappointed with what I got. Spent hours setting it up, moving it around and fluffing it up to try and reduce the gaps. You could see straight through it. Definitely looks different to what is on the website. I ended up sending it back to Balsam Hill and getting a refund. Not worth $579.
GREAT PRODUCT
We purchased a 240cm Monterey Pine, I considered the other Balsam Hill trees that were listed as being more realistic but in the end decided to go for a tree that looks like the real variety in Australia. Delivery was quick (5 days to VIC), it all came in one large box with 2 pairs of gloves, tree storage bags and extra gloves/small parts. In terms of realism it's up there with any quality artificial christmas tree but where it excels is the amount of branches which when fluffed up really fills it out. We purchased a tree with candlelights and although it was quite a bit more expensive it really looks great with all the lights evenly spread across the tree. The lights are woven around the branches so you can see the wire but only if your close to the tree. The tree was on sale for $970 which includes delivery and I found a coupon online for another $59 off. Many of the coupons I found online worked so make sure you try a few to see what code gives you the most discount (mine looked like a code for the US website and it said that its for purchases over $1000 but it still worked on the Aus website and $970 tree). In the end it is pricey but as long as it lasts a good 5-10 years then it's worth it.
Can't wait for Christmas
I ordered a 210cm BH Balsam Fir prelit tree on a Friday. The tree arrived the following Wednesday. It is very easy to assemble, though will take some time to fluff and decorate so it resembles the photos on the website. We appreciate the tree bag, gloves and extra bulbs. We have traditionally gone for a real tree, but after the spiders we had last year, I look forward to using our new tree this year!
Price does not match Quality or Service
I ordered a tree on Sale in January. When i went to use at Christmas time the tree was faulty (lights not working) I am STILL going back and forth with the company to receive a replacement transformer and lights. When contacting 'Customer Service' it feels very offshore. always dealing with a different person and very scripted while not actually helping with the issue. i was told on the 11/12 that my transformer would arrive in five days only to receive an email on 28/12 that it wasn't coming and they cant tell me when it will arrive. I wish i had just gone to a xmas shop, Dj's or Myer I REALLY REGRET THIS PURCHASE.
Very Happy with Purchase
I ordered a pre-lit tree (Monterey Pine - 180cm) online on the Sunday and it arrived on the Wednesday. Absolutely stunning tree. Very realistic, easy to assemble (gloves provided were great) and the lights are fantastic (plenty of them and the cables are well disguised amongst foliage). Couldn't be happier. ... Read more tree arrived before the notification that it was on its way was emailed to me (but I was prepared for that). And as mentioned in another review, we can't put a tree topper directly on the top of the tree as the branch is not strong enough. However, we have got around this by tying a slim flower stake to the tree in amongst the pine needles so you can't see it. This was not a big issue as we would have had this problem with a real tree anyway. Other reviews mentioned that the tree does not go all the way to the ground as in the pictures on the website. I'm pleased that it doesn't as my presents look great spilling out from under the tree (good too if space is at a premium). My only regret was that I didn't follow the advice of other reviewers and buy a bigger tree.
Bad customer service
I ordered a Christmas tree, got the confirmation and they took the money straightway. 5 days after they send an email saying that they do not have any stock, but the return of the money may take up to 30 days. I emailed back and asked if they have another available without any reply. Really bad customer service
Extremely Disappointing
Tree is extremely disappointing. I have wanted one for years. Does not live up to expectations at all. Look at it and think I will get my cheap one back out. Hours of grooming and you can still see straight through it. Would not recommend one at all. Also when there was an issue with delivery customer service did not contact me by phone even when I asked them too. Therefore It ended up not arriving before our family party. Apparently they don’t make calls. How is this a customer service of quality. It is not.

Lights don't last. Year after year I was getting so frustrated with my Christmas tree lights going out. I decided to pay extra to get a good quality tree that the lights would stay lit if one burned out After doing hours of research, I settled on Balsam Hill. I purchased a 9' tree for $749.00. (Way beyond what I have ever purchased an artificial tree for.) They have a 3 year light warranty. Well, the lights lasted 2 years. A whole section went out and I spent hours trying to get them to work. (So much for staying lit.) I ca
... Read morelled and they sent me a string of lights. For as much as I paid for this tree, they should have replaced it! Restringing lights was not what I had in mind for such an expensive tree. It was so frustrating and NOT an easy task. The next year (3rd year) another section went out. And the following year another section. So, if you want a tree that the lights DON'T stay lit, shop Balsam Hill. Otherwise, you will be restringing lights year after year. And again, for the price, that should not happen!!!! I also purchased a tree after Christmas the year I bought the tree for my daughter. Her tree also did not last "light-wise." 1/15/2018: Received a message from Balsam Hill to contact them. Tried sending an email to the contact information posted and it came back as not a valid email address. So much for their attempt to reach out.
Love Balasm Hill
Love all the products I’ve bought from Balasm Hill and I will continue to purchase products from there in future. My Christmas tree is beautiful quality and a very full foliage. My 2 garlands are the same quality, and the lights make it so much better! And my Christmas tree skirt really makes my tree look amazing. Thank you Balasm hill for great products. They are fast with there postage too, definitely recommend
Tree topper is a nightmare
I've had my tree for 3 years an every year I struggle to put the star at the top of the tree..
Terrible quality ..so disappointing..my star is not heavy, but too branch is way too soft and flops with any weight..
Such a shame..would certainly never recommend Balsam Hill to anyone !
Fantastic tree, after a few minor ordering hiccups
We ordered a 225cm BH Fraser Fir, with fitted lights. We had a few hiccups getting our tracking number (which appears to the fault of the ever unreliable StarTrack as opposed to Balsam Hill), but the Customer Service were perfectly pleasant and sorted things out swiftly. The tree itself is fantastic. It was well packaged, comes with bags for storage which appear rugged, replacement bulbs, gloves for forming the tree, spare hinge parts and clear instructions. ... Read moreble wrap and tied with ribbon. Shaping the tree took about 3 hours to get right. It's worth waiting till the tree is finished before judging on the quality. When the first layer flopped open we worried, but we needn't have as the final result is stunning. Be aware that the inside of the tree uses the more usual needle type, so the lower layers look a little odd with only the far tips using the realistic needles. The upper sections use progressively more of the realistic needles with the top section being thick and PACKED. The overall effect is incredibly realistic. We're really happy with the tree. YMMV.
Customer service disgrace
My second review still waiting on the adapter for my pre lit Christmas tree that is sitting here looking very unlit. They send emails saying sorry but still no adapter. Don’t waste your money buying pre lit because when the adapter blows after three hours you can’t get a replacement. Terrible
Problems with Balsam Hill purchases and their attitude to customers
We bought the Balsam Hill 229cm vermont spruce with multi colour LED lights in Oct 2015. In 2016/17 had a lot of trouble getting a faulty light section replaced, it took 4 months of my chasing with phone calls (never ever spoke to the same person) & numerous emails. When replacement section arrived 4 months later it was for a totally different tree!! Then weeks later I got correct section.
Now in November 2018 I put tree up & lights not working in top section. I tried changing the bulbs with the replacement ones (funny how tree has 4 different
If you are after a full tree, this is not the place to find one
Tree arrived and looked cheap and not full at all. Spent hours and hours shaping the tree and re shapping it. The lights did no work for a whole section so the company where going to send me a replacement tree, as I was not satisfied with the look of the tree itself I ended up sending it back for a refund. The refund process was an absolute ordeal. Buyer beware tree does not look like it’s worth what it is.

Better 2nd time around
I ordered a tree in 2017, which was marked as available on the website and i paid for in full. I was emailed a few days later saying that the tree i ordered was unavailable and my money would be returned in 30 days. I was disappointed with the lack of customer service and the timing between the purchase and the refund (i had to pay my cc first before getting the refund) especially close to Christmas.
I decided to give these guys another chance and ordered a similar tree with low expectations. The tree came within a week and its fantastic! I
Did not deliver the tree that I ordered
I purchased a Monterey tree and was not delivered the Monterey tree. They have obviously delivered whatever they had in stock!!!! I called Balsam Hill (in Ireland) and the customer service centre has been an absolute disgrace. I had someone in the call centre by the name of Ross hang up on me twice.

Good but not perfect
I ordered my Monterey pine Christmas tree and then read these reviews so I was worried! But so far so good. I ordered Monday and tree arrived Thursday (Adelaide). All the lights work and are well distributeds. The tree is pretty good. The pine needles are very realistic and look just like the trees you can actually buy in Australia. This model has almost all real looking needles. I’ve spent ages shaping it though and I can’t make it gap free from every angle. I ordered my garlands with trepidation after reading some of the reviews. But, let me tell you, I have nothing but praise for the fast and efficient delivery and the quality of the product. I have put up the garlands, they are beautiful and realistic and I am totally happy. I must admit to some hesitation after reading some reviews but I am delighted with my tree. It arrived 2 days after ordering, was very easy to assemble and looks great. Quality is very good. Very pleased and glad I ordered.
Great Product and Service
After reading some negative reviews after purchasing from Balsam Hill i was nervous to say the least. However, I ordered my 8 foot BH Balsam Fir Tree on Monday and received it Thursday in Queensland! I did however received my tracking details on the Thursday (same day as delivery). So pleased the tree came so quickly and the quality is the best artificial tree I've seen. Packaged great, easy to put together and all lights working! Would definitely recommend this company, i have nothing bad to say!

My tree had arrived it’s absolutely gorgeous & huge ! I set it up it has the easy set lights & it was working perfectly so excited I can’t wait to be able to decorate it! the only downside is it’s quite heavy & I couldn’t fit it back in its storage bag Saying that I didn’t pack it up properly knowing I would probably be setting it up in a few weeks. I highly recommended this company fabulous tree & fast delivery service
Awful company
Awful company!.
Spent £379 on a Christmas tree, the woman on the phone said she did not know where the order was, over 3 days she said the same and ended the phone call.
No interest in the customers whatsoever and not concerned at all that they don’t know whether the order has been sent or not.
Have now been forced to contact the bank to force the company to refund the order.
Awful, rude, service, avoid at all costs.

I felt compelled to write a review as I had read many negative reviews on trees not being received etc. After doing alot of research I decided to buy from Balsam Hill as I liked the ease of putting the tree together along with the realism of how it looks. So i bit the bullet and decided to buy a tree, in the hopes I would receive it (as I was a little worried considering other reviews I had read).

... Read more was boxed up really well and the courier (Startrack) was excellent. I was able to track my order and could see that pretty much the day after I ordered it, it was despatched from the Sydney warehouse. i have taken the tree (there are 4 parts plus stand) out of the box and popped it in its own Balsam Hill tree bag, along with the gloves they give you. The tree bag is great - it is big enough that you don't have to 'stuff' the tree in and the handles of the bag are padded so its easy to carry. I have given Balsam Hill a 5 star review for now just on the basis that I got the tree so fast (i am in Sydney) and the tree appears to be in excellent packed condition. I will assemble the tree next week sometime and update my review then. Updated 26/10/18: I have now put up the tree (early I know!). I wish I could attach photos to this review. It was really quick to assemble and very easy. Probably the longest time was spent fluffing the branches which was really easy to do. The gloves are super handy - you can fluff them without them but after awhile you'll be glad you had gloves! The inner 'leaves' of the tree (closest to trunk and more towards the base) are the traditional style leaves where its the cheaper kind, but this is more to fill out the inside of the tree. The outside leaves/branches are the realistic looking ones and these are more denser towards the top. Overall it is a great tree. I will keep my rating at 5, mainly for a ease of assembly and the look!
Stunning Tree
We purchased the 137cm Frasier fir pre lit and it’s the most stunning tree I’ve ever owned! It came in it’s own zip up bag with white gloves for fluffing! It’s so easy to put up it takes seconds my husband loves it!
Everyone comments on how beautiful it looks and I never want to take it down it keeps going up earlier each year just so I can admire it for longer ! Highly recommend getting one of these exquisite trees
