Best baby product I've ever bought!
After a week of extensive research on baby carriers, I decided the Beco Gemini had nearly everything I was looking for - I just had to get my hands on one. I sourced a store in California, made my first on-line overseas purchase & I haven't looked back!
The Beco Gemini is the best baby product I've ever purchased & my hubby agrees. I bought the carrier when our third baby was only a couple of weeks old & haven't stopped using it since (6 months & counting, so far).

ept for over 3 hours and the best part, it was comfortable for me too. At the moment, the baby loves the best of both worlds - facing out to watch our older ones play sport & generally sticky beak at the world, then still being able to face inwards & snuggle up for a sleep. The baby carrier saved me. I had no pram for a month & our little baby decided to hate the portable car capsule after only 2 months - if I didn't have the Beco Gemini I really don't know how I would have survived as our days are very, very busy.6 comments

Love Love Love this carrier
This carrier is so comfortable to wear. The weight is mostly placed on the hips and the shoulder straps are very well padded so there is no shoulder pain at all, even after wearing it for 2+ hours.
Having the head support come up higher is great for both supporting baby's head and neck but also great when placing a wrap/blanket around baby to keep sun off bubs.
The carrier is nicely padded against baby's and this is great for blocking out the wind and or cold. Plus baby is skin to skin which is nice for both mum and bub.
Super easy and quick to put on!
The only thing I wish it had a little pocket for keys/phone but that's not a huge deal.
Well worth the money.

Can it be worn more traditionally, meaning, without the "x-shaped" straps on your back?

Yes, you an wear normally. There is a clip on the straps to keep them from sliding off your shoulders. :)
Yes you can. It is your choice as to how you want the straps, whether crossed or just on your shoulders. As Bexa said, there is another clip you can use to clip the straps together so they don't slide off your shoulders. I personally cross the straps when wearing bub on my front, but when I'm back carrying I wear the straps just on my shoulders and clip the safety strap across my chest. :)
Thanks for replying! That's a major factor for me. Now the only thing that troubles me is the thickness of the material and its bulkiness, I believe the Ergobaby performance has more to offer...

there is one retailer selling them for $189 and in all my searching it is cheaper in other countries. frustrating, because there is no competition in australia to lower the price.Thanks Melissa
