BD16242 (1100E, Porcelain-Enamel), BD16350 (1100D, Stainless Steel), BD16340 (1100D, Stainless Steel), etc...waste of money
i bought the barbecue in 2017. only after two years the cast iron burner needs replacement. I live in Italy. The price for the replacement is 300 Euro for the five burners. I complained with bbq australia and they said they can't help. Moreover, last night there was a strong smell of gas around the bbq. I left one handle on by mistake and the safety auto block system that should block the flow of gas if there is non flame didn't work!
For me Its really a terrible expensive and dangerous product.
Purchased in March 2021 at italy dealer for $1,500.00.

Rust on Rust and no warranty..
Had this BBQ in use for less than 6 months, got the stainless steel as I thought would last. Now there is rust on the hood an the temp gauge, was told by the people that sold it to us that the gauge looks like it will fall out soon. Got a call from Beef eater and told it is not covered under warranty.
Purchased in October 2021 for $1,400.00.

Bad Service
Beefeater BBQ is excellent but when it comes to service it is not reliable. When service is booked the service centre does not provide details of the arrival time of technician. If the technician calls and the call were not answered, they will cancel the service. Especially they call from private numbers so cannot call back.

It’s on fire, great bbq
Very easy to use, self explanatory. Large with three different cook plates, two shelves. Four burners. It seems to whistle a bit when you have all four burners on. Cooks evenly. Looks great and has a thermometer and good for the internal heat if cooking a large piece of meat or chicken etc.

BBQ kitchen - Cooks well ; burners turn off
Cooks well ; wok also works good ; the bbq burners turn off from the slightest little bit of wind and this is frustrating; when delivered be careful as I had to send back one of the kitchen cabinets twice because they were scratched straight out of the packaged box

No bracket supplied
Bbq was advertised as a built in bbq. When it arrived the drip tray and gas point are lower than the frame of the bbq. Electrolux australia do not stock the bracket and wont get it to australia for me. I have to organise with beefeater u.s.a
Terrible customer service.

Great BBQ
I've had a lot of gas BBQs and this is the best one so far easy to maintain I don't know why other people are saying parts are hard to find in fact they are very easy to find.
I've had mine for 5 years and never had a problem as long as you clean them well each year it will last for many years.

Not happy
Not very happy with this product. I live in Dubai, so not a lot of rain, but the rust and corrosion is everywhere.
My biggest problem however is with the operation of the unit. The quartz ignition has failed (why?), there is no spare in the country, and no prospect of a spare until September, according to the distributor, unless I want to pay for a special order and shipping. The reason apparently is the "the season is over", suggesting, I guess, that there shall be no more barbecues in Dubai for the next 4 months! Poor service from manufacturer and distributor alike, I guess they deserve each other. My next BBQ will not be a Beefeater

Poor quality stainless steel, looks shabby but only 3 yrs old
We have had ours for 3 years. It is on our deck under cover.
There is excessive rusting and pitting around brand badge, temperature panel and screws. the rust has left a trail pattern too. All metal knobs are peeling and corroding which I have never seen before on stainless steel products. Hood and side panels also have light rusting in various parts.
When I queried the brand, they told me to make reference to the manual which says you must keep your bbq covered at all times when not in use. As I did not have a cover on mine but did keep it ...Read more

Very unreliable product from a trusted brand
I am scrapping mine after 6 months as it needs too much attention. Parts are impossible to get, warranty service is non existent (send it back to Sydney?). It flares up, smokes and takes forever to cook. Don't waste your money, buy an electric frypan, less trouble. Beefeater should be ashamed of their warranty service.
Looks nice

If it breaks - forget it, spare parts a joke.
This BBQ is fine in all aspects except my side burner / wok gas cock/switch seized (not sure why, always under cover and only used side burner / wok once). Contacted a major Sydney retailer for Beef Eater in March 2013.......now September 2013 and still waiting for Beef Eater to get stock in from China. Retailer informed me they hadf people waiting from December last year. Totally unacceptable, never again would I buy (& nor should you) a Beef Eater product, spare parts non existent!
Works fine in all regards
No spare parts

Handle will light you up!
I am as of right now, very dissatisfied with my very expensive purchase of my 5 burner Discovery series built in. You can't even open it up after you start the burners without a glove on. I don't know if it was a bad design or what. Also my temperature gauge fogs up on me, and seems like it's also inaccurate. Does anyone else have this problem?
very good looking
hot handle, and temperature gauge

I got the same problem - Very bad design
Yes, I have a Discovery i1000, and mine is actually worst! My temp gauge filled with water when it rained, and is completely broken (this is after 1 rain). The unit is rusting now all over (in the f... Read more
rame welds, bolts). What's worst, is the American parts/warranty claims folks (Arizona Fireplaces) did everything to avoid sending parts. That's right...they simply don't honor the warranty. What a piece of rubbish grill dumped on us by greedy schmucks in Australia. Now I have live with this bad grill until it rusts out (I give it about 1 year) in the Chicago area. Even my old $100 Fiesta gas grill lasted 10 times longer. Yes, folks...Beefeater produces rubbish and doesn't honor their warranty (at least here in the US).Similar opinion? Good
Had this one for about 6 years. Replaced the grill plate with another hot plate so as I could double the sausage to onion ratio. We had a Signature series Beefeater prior to this one which was a gem. The Discovery is what you pay for. The overall quality is a bit less than the Signature but it was $400 cheaper. However it still cooks as a Beefeater should. The original timber trolley has passed on so I built a new one. She lives outside on the downstairs deck, never misses a beat and still looks pretty good. Great to cook on - the temp of the plates is even and easily managed. It's still miles in front of the Bunnings brands ones...I like my Beefeater.
It's a Beefeater.
It's a Chinese Beefeater.

Terrible
I should have bought another brand. Only after opening the product I was underwhelmed by what my money had bought me. BE CAREFUL - some of their website information is innacurate regarding accessories and cut-out dimensions. There is no protective cover (despite what the website says). After contact to beefeater distributor re misleading web information (who also do Woodland and St George) they refered me back to the info that came with BBQ. Basically you have to purchase the BBQ first and then take your chances re cut-out dimensions and access...Read more
ories available. Whats worse, the one actual retailer said to me that the Discovery Series should never be sold as a Built-In due to its protruding gas fittings - I should've listened as it has cost me plenty to fix and accommodate the design. Another retailer told me that the Discovery Series is not worth it (made in China & low warranty) and that only the much higher priced Beefeaters are worth considering. In any case, have a look at other brands like beefmaster or jackaroo or sunbeam that are much much cheaper(check out choice.com.au). I also can't comment on competitor's customer service, but I can assure you I don't have anything positive to say about my experience with beefeater. Glass Window, Temp Gauge Basic / cheap feel construction, no protection cover available, extremely poor customer service1 comment
Yep...here in U.S, I too purchased a Discovery grill and I'm lucky it will last 1-2 years (max). Rusting all over. The stainless steel burners have this wierd slot cut into the bottom (near the end)... Read more
supposedly to permit the burners to be lit further down the chain. However, flames shoot downward on mind about 2-3", dangerously heating the grease tray sitting just below it. But wait! there's more..... The front castor wheel mount holes were stripped from the factory (I didn't see it when I purchased the grill), and they now wobble (or fall out). The thermometer is not sealed, and filled up with water on the first rainy day - it no longer works at all. And, the unit is rusting out everywhere. Those heavy-duty-looking stainless steel burners are rusting/flaking faster than the cheap stamped units you find in the cheapo grills < $150. No B.S.Similar opinion? Why is the temperature gauge on left hand side? It’s positioned over a burner which is used for indirect cooking so must be inaccurate resulting in undercooked food. I’ve been struggling with this damned bbq for 11 years and if it hadn’t been built in would have ditched it years ago.
