Hi can I add attachments like the bodum slicer/shredder attachment to the mixer stand and if so how does it attach?
Also does the clear top of the mixer come off?

Hi our relatively unused mixer model 1381 bought a few years back in Switzerland and brought home suddenly stopped working, although light on rear still comes on. There was a slight burnt smell . Will this be worth fixing, what is the likely cause. Is there a specific service location to send it to. We are in Newcastle NSW

Hi does tbe clear top.come off machine . Flour residue seems to be getting inside but dont want to remove too unless you can. Thanks in advance
Would like to know from those who've had the Bodum Planetary Mixer for some time, how its performing and any issues? As there's not many reviews or comments about this mixer out there. Cheers.
I have one. I use it for heavy mixing (bread dough, pizza dough etc) and it has been going well. It's not really suited for things like whisking a small amount of egg whites etc,, but great for heavy work.
How close to the bowl does the scraper get? How many times would you have to stop the machine mixing so you can clear the sides to incorporate the mixture?
Also, what kind of accessories are available for purchase to be used with the mixer?

The Bodum Bistro Stand mixer is designed to effortlessly take care of blending, mixing, and kneading. Planetary mixing action maximises capture surface for thorough mixing.
Depending on what you are mixing will also depend on the amount of times you will need to pause to clear the sides. However, given the way the Bodum Bistro Stand Mixer is constructed, the amount of stoppage time is minimised.
This comes with 3 attachments: Dough hook, ideal for bread and pizza dough, rolls and sweet bread dough; Beater for cake batters; Stainless steel whisk for beating egg whites, cream, and cocktail sauces. There is also a meat mincer and a slice shredder attachment which can be purchased separately.

How easy is it to mix bread dough?

The Bodum BISTRO Stand Mixer can easily handle up to 1kg of flour, that's approximately 2 loaves of bread or 4 pizza bases (depending on your recipe of course)!
The BISTRO's planetary mixing action - the beater moves one way while the drive shaft moves the other - ensures uniform mixing.
It also comes with a convenient splash guard that completely covers the mixing bowl so there's no splash back when adding ingredients too.
