Bravecto PLUS Flea,Tick and worm

published

1hr post application my cat began foaming at the mouth and vomiting. Has not stopped. Vet states he may have ‘licked’ some.
I have poisoned my beloved cat and the vet felt it was safe to sell because it’s ‘approved by Australian Standards’.
May need revising.
This is TOXIC
Any product that causes such a reaction CANNOT be good.

I did all 5 of my cats and all had vomiting panting not eating and drinking heaps of water

Severe Side Effects

published

Day 1 after application of Bravest Plus.

Chunks of hair loss, and red raw skins at the application site.

Now we have the added worry of further risk to the cats health.
We also have the added costs of a trip to the Vet and treatment.

Cat has never had a reaction to any of the other treatments used over the years!

Bald Spots Do Not Use This On Your Pet

published

We've always had cats in the family, none of them have ever had any problem with a spot-on treatment until I switched to Bravecto last month for my 12 year old cat. He developed two bald spots, one on his upper foreleg & one with on the back of the neck where the Bravecto was applied within a couple of days. I repeat, I have never seen this reaction in any of our family cats until we switched to this brand. It's nor approved by the FDA for good reason.

Not sure what to use now!

published

I had the same reaction with my cat Sam using Advantage. $170.00 later in vet fees, still has 2 sores on his neck and his hair has fallen out. She suggested to me to use bravecto plus as it was a far better product. Reading the reviews, I am at a loss as what to use next time, when his neck has cleared up, as it has been like this for a month! Has anyone used another product with success? I would have to give it a five minus. His personality has changed and went off his food.
Very concerning!!!!

caused a large patch of hair loss

published

I will never use Bravecto again. First time applying and within one day there was a large bald spot at the location the medicine was applied and the hair is still falling out. I am praying that sores do not appear like many are reporting.

My poor Kitty

published

After applying Bravecto my cat just wasn't his active self, he seemed very tired.
4 days later he got a bad open sore where the product was applied (he can not reach this spot to lick or scratch. The next day he had one of the sores on top of his head and on the side of his face and the original one was oozing. This morning we took him back to the vet because there were more sores on his face head and neck. The cat was give a steroid shot and an antibiotic shot and I was given topical was pads to use on him.
This is the first time I have used this on my cat (and yes I got it from the vet) and it will be the last. I hope he will not get worse....DONT USE, PLEASE!!!

Do Not Use This On Your Cats

published

I took my 2 cats in to see their feline vet about 2 months ago. Both of my cats became sick. Extreme lethargy, wouldn't eat for 3 days, throwing up. I almost took one of my cats to the emergency vet because I did not know if she would make it through the night. Now my male is acting like he has lost his hearing. I wonder if Bravecto could be the cause

Not going to use again on my cat

published

I gave my cat his first and only dose 1 month ago. He has loss of appetite, hair falling out aggressively, seems more tired and less playful, and has been vomiting occasionally. I think the vomiting is from grooming and the increasing hair loss. This product killed all his fleas and ticks for sure but I don't think it's worth all the other side effects he is having. I won't be buying it again.

DO NOT USE BRAVECTO ON YOU CAT.... IT CAN KILL

published

As previous reviews, I can validate that the use of this POISONOUS product can kill.... have used twice and twice my cat has had bad reactions....hair fell out from contact point creating a bald patch, lethargy, sleeping more than normal, off food.... there should be a class action against the manufacturers as owners have lost their beloved pets through this product.... DO NOT USE. If you get in your hands/fingers the product is difficult to remove as it is gluey and tacky.

With the star rating if I could would give it 5 MINUS.... unable not to give it a review.... check with your vet tell him about the reactions cats are getting from this product if they are promoting this product.

Poisonous and dangerous

published

Immediately lethargic, he has lost weight in a couple of days and has a bald patch which has enlarged daily, near to application, that has developed into a large sore/ lesion.
He is normally a vocal happy cat and has just slept and ate little. When we went back to the vet he had a temperature and has had steroid and antibiotics. We have to take him back tomorrow but we really regret giving this product. We feel foolish as we just trusted that the vet knew it was a safe product. I would rather have fleas.

Bald and bleeding

published

The first time I used this it was great - no side effects and really worked. We reapplied it 3 months later but this time our poor cat was left with a bald patch where is was applied which developed into bloody sores. Obviously a chemical burn and I’m not sure if the fur will ever grow back
Poorly designed tube as it ends up all over your hands and only comes off with nail polish remover.
Not going to use again- clearly a horrendous pesticide.

It works, but...

published

I have two cats, a black and white. This stuff works, but my white cat now a bald patch where the product touched him, and over a week later sores started forming on that spot (it’s not from grooming, he can’t reach it). Doesn’t appear to be distressed by it, I’m cleaning it daily to prevent an infection and he doesn’t mind, but what on earth is in a product that causes such a horrible reaction- No chance it can be an allergy, they’re usually systemic, where this is localized only to where it touched him. In essence, he has a chemical burn.

The worst

Horrible. Immediately sick, with in minutes she was vomiting. Got some on my finger nail and it took my nail polish off. DO NOT USE. I hope she recovers because she’s still vomiting several hours later.

Extremely Disappointed.

published

When you twist the lid...expecting it to come off so you can do the treatment, it doesn't come off. I called my vet to ask if it was a faulty batch. Apparently the twist lid doesn't come off but rather creates a small hole somewhere in the lid (which explains why it went all over my fingers when I was trying to get the lid off. My vet was of little help and refused to refund me. I paid $69.60 for a product that went all over me and none on my cat - and just after xmas, which is not the best time of the year to throw away money.

Death

Toxic - made my cat permanently sick

published

One day after Bravecto treatment, my cat started vomiting, breathing faster, drinking a lot more water and having major hot spots. Vet told me not to worry unless the vomiting got worse then I should go to emergency. I scrubbed off all remaining Bravecto and shaved her hair in that spot.

It's been one year, and the hair has never grown back! Not even a little bit!

And the vomiting never reached emergency level, but she vomits anywhere from 1-5x/month. Before Bravecto, she NEVER vomited!

Tests indicate her T4 (thyroid) levels are suspicious and hyperthyroid would explain all her symptoms. A lot of pain and suffering for the past 13 months ever since that Bravecto treatment. I majorly, majorly regret it.

Definitely works

published

I applied thus product to all my cats back in November. No adverse reactions and must work as we just found a dead tick on my daughter bed where our 16 year old cat always sleeps. This happened just two days after the next door neighbors cat had to go to emergency vet for tick treatment. And she only goes outside on a leash.

Bravecto for Cats

I applied topical bravecto on my 15 month cat this morning. She was okay the whole day but started to vomit this evening. Now she is just sleepy. Do I need to worry? What home remedy can I give her, or should I wait till tomorrow? Hope you can assist please. Thanks.

Bravecto for Cats

I applied bravecto to my cats about 4 weeks ago. They spend a lot of time outside. I have just spotted a flea on one of them. Can they still pick fleas up being outside and then the fleas die or can they live on them?

I'm sorry, Smito, I can't provide an answer to that one. I'm a bit concerned about my own cat, because he is scratching frantically (although I've not spotted a flea yet). Possibly it might be an idea to try another brand of flea-repellent to see whether that does the trick better.

I have applied Bravecto incorrectly. My cat has licked the site of application. Will this harm my cat?
