Can't live without it
I've had mine for 2 years now, it was purchased as a birthday present.
So easy to use and fabulous having the different heats for milk.
I use soy and almond milk and it froths beautifully on the latte nozzle.
Regular cows milk always froths more nicely though as it has more cream.
It's quiet, super easy to clean, and outdoes every nespresso frother on the market, they are hopeless.

Looks like I am another one in the long list of unhappy buyers of this item
Hello,
I just bought this item online from Myer and received it a few days ago. It does not work, has not worked once whatever I do; after a few seconds, I hear three bips and the machine stops, stubbornly refusing to start again.
I had not read reviews prior to purchasing the machine. I wish I had read the ones here since clearly the design of this machine is defective. Given ieatwords reviews, Breville must be aware of this issue yet still has the frother in the market.
I'll return the item with no hesitation.

Best thing ever
This can do up to 4 cups of hot frothed milk no worries. Best thing I ever bought. Makes beautiful silky froth that makes coffee at home a daily luxury. Purchased when it was recommended to me by a friend. Hard to find but well worth the search to get it.

Excellent
I bought this to use with my Aldi Expressi Coffee Machine and it is fantastic.
It froths the milk amazingly. I only use the latte frother as the cappuccino frother make a ridiculous amount of froth. Heats the milk perfectly, you can select the temp. you would like so if you like a hotter coffee/hot chocolate simply turn the dial up. The dial does have an indicator range for the suggested temp. to use.
It's simple, easy to use and super easy to clean! It is a little noisy but I can live with that for a minute or two. You can also heat milk for more than one drink as the stainless steel jug holds a large quantity of liquid.

Great milk frother
Have been using this Café Milk Frother since July 2017 to make cappuccino and hot chocolate drinks. Froths really well, heats well, easy to set up, looks good, compact on bench top, cleans easily in dishwasher.
Better than other milk frothers of a similar type i use at work. Really can't fault it.

Outstanding and won't stick
We have owned a number of these types of milk heaters. And this one is by far the best. I recommend it to anyone who is buying a coffee machine as it is the only one that is truly non stick. We rinse it and put it away.
It it stainless steel instead of non stick. Which you'd think would be worse than the non stick versions, but that isn't the case. The non stick surface makes milk stick to it, you get a film of milk all over the base and sides and its harder to clean.
While the Breville has a stainless steel jug that seems to stop milk sti...Read more
cking to it. Just use it, then rince and stick it in the drying rack for the next day. It has hot and cold functions and you can select the temp. We normally leave it on 70 degrees, but it can go a lot higher. It isn't cheap! Our first milk frother was about $40. It didn't heat well so we took it back. Second one was about $80 sold by Map which was good but milk always stuck. We then got a sunbeam when the Map died. Sunbeam was about $90 had a large capacity but was slow and loud. Also milk stuck on the non stick surface. So when we got married, we were given the breville as one of the gifts. It has been amazing! But it would have cost about $160 at the time. If you can afford it, I highly recommend it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Doesn't froth now as it used to??
Loved my frother from day 1, made the perfect silky latte. Also on day 2, 3 no 4. Then it suddenly decided not to do the job. I started with using UHT skim milk then once all used changed to Dairy Farmers Lite. Maybe that's the problem. Will change to some other milk no let u know how it goes.

Hooked!
I am very happy with my purchase. At first, I was going to buy a cheapo $30 milk frother from Kmart and I thought to myself hold yer horses, do some research. After a month of indecision between the Lavazza Milk Up and this Breville model, I let milk capacity make my decision for me. Off I went to Myer on a whim and came across a spend over $100 get $20 off deal. Woo! I live alone and drink non dairy drinks and I'm busily experimenting with different types of non dairy milk. My parentals came to visit last weekend and I was able to whip up a fe...Read more
w cow milk cappuccinos for them in one go - I don't like the idea of having to wait for a smaller capacity frother to cool down before using again. It is extremely easy to clean and isn't temperamental like that Sunbeam model that I read beeps due to condensation.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Really Great
We have had our Breville Milk frother for nearly four years. We have coffee every afternoon my husband and I and if visitors or family come to visit then we make more. My milk is Zymil as I am Lactose intolerant and it appears to make more froth but full cream milk also froths well

Best in the market
Best frother in town. I was previously using a nespresso milk frother and it was horrible. The milk constantly spilt so I decided to purchase the breville Milk Cafe. The breville has 500ml capacity, double the size of any other frother on the market. The milk is frothed with tiny perfect bubbles. The two frothing attachment and temperature control adds extra versatility to this perfect machine.

Don’t use unhomogenised milk
I bought the BMF600 and became very disappointed because it heated well, but almost made no froth, even with the Capuccino disc. I normally use unhomogenised milk, but I began to wonder if this might be the problem as there was such a diversity of reviews.
So I tried full cream homogenised milk, and PRESTO! - lovely froth with both discs as advertised! A great product with the right milk.

Great time saver
Great time saver if you are coming from a steam jet on your coffee machine. One issue is it seems to make the froth ontop of the milk. Give it one or two shakes of the jug once its done (it can spill a little) and it comes out perfectly creamy.

Does the job its supposed to...
As this is on the pricier side i cannot say its worth paying the extra. I generally use it at the 200ml min milk level only. The optimum temperature range it has would not be hot enough for me as i have it set at the highest temp range since day one and it seems to suit me fine. Which makes me wonder whether it is heating properly now. What i love is......its dishwasher safe and only a few components which means easy to keep clean.
That 200ml takes up to 3mins to heat and froth.....I used to microwave my milk and pour it from above my head to get the froth....just didnt have the same look through my double walled glass cups as it does now.

Troubleshoot Frothing problem
Up to now good froth using various types of premium low & full cream milks. But now can only get a miserable layer of bubbles even when using cappuccino disk. Saw comments on Zimyl milk (haven't tried it) but don't understand why our prior success with all brands milk. Yes, I'm getting the click when inserting disk. Rated at 4 but at the moment I would give it a generous 2.

Maybe this is the One?
I've been through a few of the common milk frothers (eg Caffitaly and Aldi) which produce lightly frothed and heated milk for one latte at a time using the low froth stirrer provided. The fault with their high froth cappuccino stirrer is that it can produce froth but the chamber is too small to contain any quantity and the froth creeps up the side and overflows. They are also direct drive thus relying on a rotating shaft seal to not fail.
I finally upgraded to this Breville BMF600 at a significant cost increase (3 x Aldi price) and it is perf...Read more

Beware the three beeps
Seems that lots of other people have experienced the same problem that I have with this product. Only a few months old and after a few seconds of operation it emits three beeps and stops. After further research it appears that the three beeps indicates a build up of condensation when putting cold fluids into the jug. The sensor is extremely sensitive and the condensation may not be visible. Wipe the moisture off the outside of the jug and try again. Usually you will have to turn the product off, wipe the condensation off the jug and inside the induction heater, wait a while and try again. It will usually work, fingers crossed!

Great so far
I've had this milk frother for close to 12 months now. It's been great! The thing I like most is that you can froth enough milk for up to 5 lattes or you can do just one.
Easy to clean.
I don't use the variable-temperature option very much but it is handy at times.

Very disappointing Breville experience for someone who owns lots of Breville appliances
I purchased this product in Nov 2016 for the office for client meetings - so it was used once or twice a week at most. Worked great up until this month. You put milk in, turn dial to 60c, press Start, machine starts whirling for 3 seconds then stops and beeps. You keep pressing Start and same thing happens.
I was expecting better customer service when I called up Breville for a product that is only 2 months out of warranty and was on the more expensive end of milk frother products in the market. Didn't get any help because it was out of war...Read more
ranty and because I purchased it through eBay (even though the seller was a reputable company: Betta) they don't cover buyers even if product was within warranty period. I was told by Breville that I was on my own and I could go to ACCC if I wanted to take the matter further. For someone that has 5 other Breville products which takes me up to nearly $1000 spent with Breville, this was a very disappointing experience. I feel like my brand loyalty has been strong to Breville but hasn't been returned. Previously when I search for kitchen appliances, I don't even bother checking out the competitors because I thought Breville was a good brand and that they were fair to their customers - not anymore. Will do thorough research (esp on ieatwords.com.au) and consider other brands now when shopping for my next appliance and I recommend you do the same too.Similar opinion? Terrible product
We spent a mini fortune on purchasing this machine. When it works yes it makes very good milk but the 3 beep problem that I am now aware is a design fault is hugely annoying and breville should have recalled this along time ago. Its a product fault with the sensor, soon after we purchased it started happening. It doesn't like you putting cold milk in the jug so it starts up and then just stops. Surely you shouldn't have to heat up the milk before putting it into the jug.....very frustrating and we took it back as we thought it was a once off. Second machine....exactly the same. Lost my faith in Breville....its a common fault and they shouldnt sell it if they are aware of this inherent problem.

Can you use it WITHOUT the frothing discs to just heat milk?
2 answers
No, you need to use one of the discs. If you don't want frothy milk, the Latte disc would be the one to use. There is no heavy froth when using that one. I use it to heat milk for my cereal ... using the latte disc.
Ok thanks for the reply!

My milk frother does not turn on again. I have checked different power outlets around the house. and apparently the power is not the problem but the machine itself. This is been happening randomly. I would appreciate if you could help me. Thanks

Hi Maria, I sympathise. We are on our third Breville BMF600 frother. The first two refused to work after a year or so;, responding with 3 beeps when powered on. One possible explanation is the internal safety cutout being too sensitive, thinking it's got moisture inside. Not heard from Breville though. They seem to ignore product design faults and concentrate more on packaging.

Hi I have the 3 beep problem keeps shutting down, everything is clean.. is there anything else I can do, before throwing it in the bin, microwave is my milk heater, due to this product having a mind of its own

I love this machine & highly recommend it, have never had any problems. With your issue, I'd contact Breville - give them the chance to remedy the situation before you blast their product. If they respond appropriately, that's good. They said in the past "Please give us the opportunity to correct the situation by contacting our dedicated customer care team at 1300 139 798 (M-F, 8am-5pm) or at [email protected]
PS. When not being used, I turn it off at the power, that might be an advantage.

I finally gave up on this product as it became largely useless as very sensitive to the slightest condensation, especially in warm or humid weather. Great when it works but just too sensitive and unreliable
