Excellent
this is a long existing airline and the staff are a REAL asset to them - it's a pity they cut back on some of their australian destinations, but then qantas is excellent NOW, and they are great travel companions under ONE WORLD.
The crew definitely is above average and make you feel like real people, unlike the "robotic" nature of staff on Asian airlines who don't have a sense of humour and are unable to banter with the public. Also, the food, reliability, and route network is way above average!!!

Good
we found this airline to be one of the best. the cabin crew were friendly and most helpful. during a flight to Singapore my husbands seat radio was not working and while in the air the male attendant was unable to do much about it but while we were waiting in the transit lounge he sought us out to say he'd arranged for the repair to be done before we re-boarded, he didn't have to do that but we were impressed and grateful he went to the trouble to be of help. it is touches like this that make all the difference. The food was pretty good as airl...Read more
ine food goes, we seem to be forever being served drinks and food all the time. I was especially impressed that throughout the night, the attendants were walking through the aircraft offering cups of water. All in all i would recommend BA. British Airways are wonderful, very friendly in flight crew none in my experienceSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bad
Have flown BA many times from OZ and inside Europe over 25 years - (not by choice), the staff are not helpful at all, even condescending; and the food is terrible (eg frozen). In Feb 06 we had a family death and needed to change travel dates, BA in Germany were no help at all and showed no compassion for our situation - I bought tickets with another airline to get us back. In Dec 08, my daughter was stranded in Thailand; BA, Thailand, and Melbourne were closed, only open Monday to Friday. When we contacted BA UK eventually they were no help, just saying 'see your travel agent'. I ended up buying Qantas tickets to get my daughter home.
gets you there.
unfriendly staff.
unhelpful staff.
very bad service.

I was assigned a window seat, so no other seat reassignment was necessary during the online check-in. At the airport, everything was just perfect, the services were great. The seat itself was comfortable and the extra legroom did make a difference. The hot meal was ordinary, but fine. The cold meal (breakfast or sandwich) wasn't so great, but at least itwas decent. The staff was professional and attended to all of my needs. It was worth the extra cost just for the extra legroom and the reduced claustrophobic environment.
Very good food and drink, good choice of up to date films, good overnight flight, plenty of drinks, good services, confortable seating, tea for free
The sandwiches were uninspired, too expensive

I have used British Airways on long and short flights since the days when they were BOAC and have always found them to be very good. Friendly and helpful staff, good with children, meals good and flights on time and smooth.
Good staff, flights on time.
Nothing, I've been lucky.

Flying with British Airways has truely been an honor!! They have unique customer service that is not given on the other airlines that I have travelled on. I wish they flew to everywhere I went to!!!
The customer service is very good and the flight is usually smooth
Some of the Flight times they have on the schedule.

Have flown BA longhaul several times and each time have had to contend with large amounts of people congregating in the aisles. It always feels like a sardine can.
It got me from A to B

This was a few years ago hopefully they have improved their ways by now but staff on both flights were rude to the extent I could not understand how they kept their jobs I felt very sorry for a lady sitting near me needing some help, but I think she ended up wishing she had not asked.
great new planes
rude staff

Overall, I don't really recomend this ariline. It may be cheaper but definately has less quality. I much prefer to fly with qantas as it's more comfortable and sometimes the food is better. And the Brittish Airways planes are all so squashy. It makes you feel chlostrophibic and liek you can't wat to get off. A thumbs down for me sadly.
The crew were quite nice and friedly.
The seats are hard and uncomfortable and the planes always smell bad. The food ins't that nice either but what can youe expect from aeroplane food. It all tasted bad.

They apparently share trips with Qantas,i found their flight crew not overly helpful meaning i was trying to stash my luggage in the overhead compartment only to have the flight steward shout from her standing position to push it in further, she made no attempt to assist me.
Also dont expect a lot of drinks/refreshments,i asked for a drink and the strewward come back with a papercup of water.
Plane took off on time and was non stop SYDNEY to Bangkok.
This has have to be the worst airline i have flew in my trips from Syd to Bangkok.
I remember they gave us a choc muffin for breakfast and small bag of peanuts?

Terrible
We booked Qantas to fly return Hong Kong to London in business class. Disappointingly we were put on a BA flight. I went to their website and everything looked lovely - new business class cabins etc etc. Not so. The plane was old and tired. My bed didn't work properly on either outgoing or return flight meaning that I had to lie on my side pushed up to one edge with an protruding lump in the middle of the bed - extremely uncomfortable. My husband's light didn't work and there was no power point to power his laptop for work. Or their cables ...Read more
were broken. Or there were no cables on the plane. Or some other reason depending on who you asked! Food was very average. I definitely would never book BA and will be more careful when I book with Qantas in future to check that it is a Qantas flight and plane. Pleasant crew Old planes, really bad World Traveller (business class)Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I have just returned from a 6 week trip to Europe flying British Airways from Sydney-Singapore-london-Paris-London-Moscow-London-Dublin-London-Bangkok-Sydney. I have traveled with QF, MH, SQ and CX many times to Europe, however BA business class was the best so far. Amazing service from the crew, I was also surprised by the attention to detail and large number of facilities at the Heathrow lounges. After negative stories I have read about BA I was pleasantly surprised with the service it was well worth the extra money. I will certainly be choosing BA on my upcoming trip to Singapore.

Pros - Economy is very ordinary, but World Traveller Plus provides a good option for travellers wanting more seat room without having to pay Business Class prices. Wider seats and more leg room are a definite bonus on long haul flights from Sydney to UK. Through manage my booking facility you can also see where your seat is located and change it if you want to.
Cons The food is very ordinary. You pay extra for travelling World Traveller Plus and only get economy food. I prefer the food offered on Qantas. The toilets could be cleaned more f...Read more
requently on long haul flights. Overall I would not travel BA economy as a first choice as they are expensive, but choose to travel with them from Sydney to UK as my first preference solely for the World Traveller Plus option.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Has anyone flown with BA Sydney-Singapore lately? Have they picked up their game a bit?

Did anyone have a good experience? I'm due to fly to Sydney tomorrow and just checked reviews to get a picture, so disappointed with what I'm reading.

I don't recall if I mentioned this in my main post, but they're pretty determined that you shouldn't write them a letter of complaint. Just try finding their email address or their Sydney office address! The only option was to write to their UK address - which meant a visit to the post office to find out how much and to buy stamps. Something they obviously don't want you to do. Which is a bad sign in any business, let alone one where each customer is spending thousands of dollars.
Hi, i travelled business class and will never fly with them again, im not sure if you're traveling business or economy. The best flight was the Qantas A330 300 flight from Melbourne to Singapore from there on and on the way back was Ba.
I'm travelling economy class!
