A great no hassle printer
I have never had a problem with this printer or any Canon printer. I put it on Silent Mode and it's great. Everything is easy to use and Canon is definitely my printer of choice.
Purchased in August 2021 at Myer Retail Stores for $299.00.

Used up ink cartridges doing deep cleans and then developed error B203 and stopped printing
I've had my red MG7765 printer for 3 1/2 years and it looks great. Unfortunately, it was becoming increasingly clogged, despite doing cleans and deep cleans. Eventually it stopped working completely with error code B203. Here is how I got it working again, as new:
Canon Support initially advised I should do this:
"I am sorry to hear that your PIXMA MG7765 is having support code B203. Support Code B203 indicates that the carriage unit has encountered an internal fault and my recommendation to clear the error is to reset the printer.
Please follow the steps below to try to resolve the issue with the machine:
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Open the printer like you will be inserting ink cartridges.
3. Turn the printer on. ...Read more

Probably better off with a cheaper version
Overall an average printer.
+ Print quality is good, though the black text is now slightly fuzzy and it can no longer print a usable boarding pass!
+ Can print cd /dvd covers
> Scan quality is acceptable - but always needs adjustment to get a near original image.
- The software is awful - it is incredibly slow, especially when scanning documents takes forever to display icons on the other existing scans.
- Causes network disconnects - usually when printing large photo quality images (Could be a network issue - but it only occurs with...Read more

Far too complicated to use!
I am most disappointed with this printer. You need to be a rocket scientist to navigate the complicated procedures needed to operate it.Trying to scan to jpg format into a folder you want is a nightmare. And the help information is akin to negotiating a minefield. The only operations that I have successfully managed to perform are a simple print from Windows Photo manager, and printing to CD printable discs. Why make things so difficult? Let's get back to the KISS principle!

Works well for me
This printer was a little difficult to set up but Canon walked me through the process online in a pleasant and thorough manner. I have now had it for six months and in that time it has printed perfectly. I use it to print from two computers and can highly recommend as a home printer.

So close but a big fail
This machine almost always fails to print or scan.
It will print 3cm and spit out the page and start again, wasting paper until you come and turn it off.
It does not have a USB port to enable scan to USB or print from USB, can print from memory card but not scan to memory card.
NFC print or scan always fails, it will get started but always ends with an error message.
On the occasion that it does work it is great, good print quality etc no issues there.

Canon MG7760 Printer: Bad reviews but good for me.
Budget printer so don't expect miracles.
WiFi connection: was not able to understand the set-up so plugged in USB cable and worked fine.
Full set of inks online ( non Canon ) available for a bit over $20-00.
Only used as a home printer so quality is fine but I would think OK for a SOHO also.
Color reproduction from a scanned photo is not great but K-Mart, Harvey Norman prints probably work out cheaper than home printing anyway.
Always helps to read the directions as this may avoid a lot of the problems that arise.
Upgraded from a previous MG model Canon and had no problems with that one either.

Worst printer I have owned
I bought a red MG7765 in the 7760 series. I thought it would look less boring on my desk, not being black. Let me warn you never to buy a printer based on colour! It has never connected to Wifi and the scanner doesn't work/won't connect. The paper continually jams. If you don't pull the paper out immediately when it does one page it goes back into the printer and jams so you can't walk away to do something else when it's printing.. One paper jam was so bad I had to pull it out really hard. Now everything inside is misaligned an...Read more
d it won't print straight. Hence me coming on to this site to choose my next printer. The printer driver was not on the Canon website when I first had problems. I was going to download a new driver. It took a year for them to put it on the website. I complained twice on their website about this and instead of contacting me to resolve the problem they just deleted my comments. Not very helpful! My husband wouldn't let me just go out and buy a new printer so I have had to put up with it, so I have cursed Canon for the last year! Now I desperately need a new printer for some work due on Saturday so I am finally buying a replacement. I also could get the inks for my last printer from a little computer shop near where I live. They have never stocked the inks for this printer, I have to order them online so I always have to buy well in advance for fear of not having ink when I had important work on. The only good thing is the inks just pop in and you don't have to align them when you install a new one.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Do not buy this printer
We have tried to link this printer to two PCs using WiFi. It never holds the connection and you have to keep restarting and clearing the ports. It can't have two PCs access it at the same time. It takes 3-4 minutes of 'processing' before being able to print a page. It did print some good quality photo images, but as an everyday reliable printer we so wish we had bought another brand or type. We will try to buy some cables to get over the WiFi issues but you'd hope this wasn't necessary. Avoid buying this printer.

Avoid.
This has been the most frustrating piece of technology I've ever had to deal with, and I would never consider another of their products. I've been on the phone to their help desk several times, re-intalled the software from scratch, and still the problems persist. The printer is OK, and when the scanner actually works it's fine too, but the big problem is that it frequently doesn't. When I try to scan a doc, I often get the message that the scanner and computer cannot communicate. I can bring them into the same room and sit the scanner, comput...Read more
er and modem all within a few metres of each other, side by side, yet still get this frustrating message that they cannot communicate (and hence I cannot scan anything). Modem is working fine, and both computer and scanner have strong WiFi signals ... but still this frustrating 'can't communicate' message keeps appearing. The help desk have been unable to help and I'm about ready to throw the thing out and buy something else. Could not recommend this product. My advice would be 'avoid'.Similar opinion? Easy Setup and reliable and good printing including Wi-Fi from Android & iOS devices
My search for an affordable, reliable and All-in-One function printer ended with Pixma MG7760. Setup instructions are very clear, Inserting printing carriages is easy & one can print from Android & iOS devices as well as from Windows and MacOS based laptops. Prices less than $100, this printer is good for any kind of home use specially where parents need to keep printing question papers or other material for their day to day use. Key is to lookout for printers that are on clearance and under $100 providing all functions at a very competitive prince. Simple & Easy.

Fantastic home printer for occasional jobs
An amazing printer for sheets and photographs, works easy with the wifi setup and lets you print from any mobile phone. Very simple to use. Take care of putting cartridges in order, 6 different ones, and do not pull paper before it ends.

Can this printer process 120gsm paper?
Angieasked
I have a MG7765 printer and every time I put paper in it to print a photo it says no paper in, then comes up with error 1008. It has been such a frustrating printer, I've had it replaced once and this one is the same.

I am not sure if there is any difference between MG7760 and MG7765 but I use the top cassette for photos and have no problems. The manual tells you on page 852 what the problems could be for error 1008 (and 1007). I downloaded the User Manual from Canon and chose for Mac but you can also choose for Windows
https://www.canon.com.au/printers/pixma-mg7160/support?option=drivers
There are 4 pages of choices so look for users manuals as opposed to drivers.
I am not an expert so hope this helps.
Thank you for your answer, but MG7765 doesn't have a top cassette but I appreciate your tip for the user manual.
Hi Angie- The MG7765 is the red version of the black MG7760 and it definitely has 2 printer trays at bottom of the front of the printer. The A4 drawer is at the bottom and opened with fingers pointing down in the middle square opening. The somewhat hidden drawer above it, holds 4x6 photo paper, simply turn your hand over in the same opening lift it up and pull out. You must have the paper flap closed to do this as the flap completely hides this drawer when open.
