A frustrating and inaccurate product
So far I haven't been able to get one consistent reading from it. Scanning the same part of the head it will jump by a number of degrees every time I use it. The ear method does the same. I scanned my baby's head at least 10 times one night as I could feel she was burning up but it showed a normal temperature, then suddenly 38 degrees, then back to 36 after rescanning it. I ended up using a $10 thermometer which finally verified a fever was present. This product is not worth risking your child's health on.

Requires cleaning each time but that got it working well
Was working great for ages then just started giving me really weird readings. Called their hotline and troubleshooted. The probe needs to be cleaned after each time I use it. They explained it’s a lot cheaper than using probe covers which is true but it is a bit of a pain but the alcohol wipes are cheap and worked effectively! I think parents need to know this. Overall its good, but read the instructions carefully!!

you just have to change the batteries for after 7-8 months of using it.
The mixed reviews I saw online made me a little hesitant to get this one but it’s features are hard to resist. I bought this from baby village and tried using this with my 21-month old baby. After using it for a couple of months, this product has never been a failure to me. The temperature I got from the other thermometer I got is the same as what I got from the Cherub Baby one (which helped assure me it’s accurate). After a few incidents of dropping it, the LCD indicator and the thermometer itself seem to be working fine. I recommend changing...Read more
the battery after using it for over 7 months as I found it getting funny temperatures at about 6 months until I changed the battery and then all was fine again. August 16th 2017 Update: it did take the right temp for me, got no problem I was surprised that this one after some negative reviews, actually works well. My bub was once sick with a fever and a cold. I talked to the doctor to try to figure out the best way to take bubs temperature and now I have 2 thermometers to do that. As per docs recommendation I’ve checked bubs temperature when not sick over numerous readings to figure out bubs normal temp. Now when bub has a fever its so easy to know as I compare against the normal readings I've recorded. The normal temp range is remembered by it so when it goes above normal, it kinda reminds you of that. thanks to that indicator. I got this on sale for half the price of the other forehead thermometer I own so I believe that this is a fantastic buy. August 18th 2017 Update: There is a trick to this I bought this after reading the really high rating it got in Choi ce magazine. Before my kids got a fever I tried testing it out to make sure I was using it correctly using forehead mode. The readings seemed a little low so I called Cherub Baby who went through the technique with me that’s on the quick start guide online. I think it needs to be made clear that an ear reading will be higher than a forehead reading. So now Im using it mainly as an ear thermometer, taking multiple readings each time and Im happy with the results.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

works well at all times
I thought my 5-month-old bub would need it so I bought it when I saw it in the Melbourne expo. The $50 price gives justice to its features. It does give me accurate temperature but only after I read the quickstart guide and realized hoe to do it correctly. Also it has a temp indicator when bub’s temp went over normal.
I’ve read about mum’s terrible experience about this one (inaccurate temperature is one) and I can relate as at first I was not getting consistent readings. Then I read the guide and understand the correct way now!

do not buy, if you want to differentiate between a well and unwell child
totally agree with all the other 'terrible' reviews, this thermometer is the least accurate out of all thermometers we have ever used. our $5 ebay one is accurate to within half a quarter of a degree yet this one consistently was 2 degrees lower (replaced batteries, took correct readings as per instructions and googling) than the actual temperature. just had our daughter to the drs and their thermometer read 39.4. ours which we had with us read 37.3....a crazy and dangerous reading which thankfully we decided to not trust yet again. Inaccurate
Gives different reading everytime. So what exactly do i go with? 36 or 40 degrees Celsius?
However, after many attempts, I realised the best and most accurate way to get the best and most consistent reading is by using the ear thermometer instead of the inferred. I made sure to properly put it inside her ear and thankfully it shows the same reading each time. Hopefully her fever will come down soon!

Doesn't work properly, not safe battery comes out easily
It does not work properly, measuring my son 4x will always show different temperature. The button it's pain to press and it takes to long for the temperature to appear, often the whole thing just turns off. My wiggly son is too quick to escape so it's not ideal. It is not safe around kids the back with the battery opens easily and battery comes out. I purchase this because of the good reviews and reward, but I could not be more disappointment. I wish I returned it straight away, but unfortunately the shop is quite far away so couldn't go there with a little baby.

I wanted the best
I bought this thermometer for our new born as I received a gold ward so I thought it would be good. I was right it is good and for under $50 it is the best value. I like the fact that it does so much and has an arlarm feature.
We have a few other Cherub baby items and they are all very good and so much cheaper that Avent and Medlion.
We will buy more Cherub Baby if their quality is as good as this. I did have a query with one the bottle warmer and managed to speak to some one straight away - great service !

Screw Lid please!
I found my 18mo managed to unzip the nappybag, took out the thermometer, open the battery lid and almost got to the button battery. I know it's not a toy, but we use it around babies&todds so often, and they are often intrigue by it. Please consider a screwlid please.

Great value thermometer but a little tricky
I had read mixed reviews of this thermometer but also mixed reviews on almost every other forehead thermometer on here!! So I decided to give it a shot as it was cheaper than the others and Choice magazine preferred. I'm posting this as I feel I have found the "trick" to using it correctly. Instead of just pressing it against bubs forehead and taking the temperature, I found that swiping across (whilst ensuring its quite firmly against the forehead, worked better. I would repeat the swipe about 5 times to check the readings were similar. I al...Read more
so would cross check against the forehead and ear ensuring the end was cleaned each time as I read if the end is clogged with earwax, it won't work properly. So far so good. I've had accurate readings and I like how fast it takes the reading. August 30th 2017 Update: Great brand and great thermometer Thought they deserve a good review after I posted back the thermometer because I couldn’t get it to turn on! Turns out I just had the battery the wrong way around! They sent it back along with going over the instructions on the phone with me just to make sure in advance I was using it correctly. Great service! So far so good, making sure I take the reading on the temple and have detected bubs fever twice nowSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very disappointed - inaccurate readings
I bought this product after reading so many fantastic reviews but we have found the thermometer readings to be inaccurate. I called to complain and was told to change the batteries even though it's brand new and/or swipe it across the forehead. It's still not working and my little girl has a temperature and I am unable to keep a record of her temperatures. Very disappointed.

Inaccurate!
Was hopeful after reading reviews, but this product does not give accurate results. It gives completely different readings when placed on the same point. It ranges from 36-37.2. Not just on our newborn, but on us as well. Had to resort back to under the arm method with a different thermometer. Do not recommend purchasing.

Stand out among others
At first, I had doubts on its accuracy but this thermometer really stood out for the past months to be very accurate when I compared its readings with my underarm digital thermometer. This thermometer is easy to use with a unique design to easily scan the temperature in the forehead or in the ear. Easy to clean and keep hygienic too with a little wiping. Wish the LED indicator would come in other designs in the future but so far it serves its purpose well. I had to thank my friend who recommended this thermometer as being hospital grade and recommended by her physician. I'm recommending this to our mother's group too.

Great buy!
Got this at a sale but I never regretted buying this thermometer. It's a guarantee that I monitor my bub's temperature every time I observe something wrong. We can never be always sure and a temperature check is from the thermometer always eases my concern. I find it accurate and easy to operate. It displays temperature consistently even after several tries. I'm recommending them to my sister who has kids too.

Almost perfect
I had problems with my other thermometer but they were quick to replace it after warranty So props to Cherub Baby for having a good customer service. I bought this from Babys R Us without any problem or glitch. It is easy to operate and not complicated. Any caregiver of my bubs do not have a problem using it. I had doubts on its accuracy ut it seems to be displaying pretty accurate results. I just can't understand the diverse reviews here but for me it's a good and reliable product every mum should have.

Not accurate.
We previously had two Braun thermometers that both failed so I wanted something different. Bought this after reading fantastic reviews but am so disappointed in this thermometer. My baby is hot and lethargic and obviously feverish and it gives a reading of 36.6. I've taken to doing 7-8 measurements on each side and only 1 reading is 37.2. And he's red faced and burning up.
I would not recommend this product.

GP approves using them!
It's a great relief to have this thermometer. I can use it for my baby and my entire family. It is just the right size and the LCD displays well the temperature and readings with accuracy. One time I brought it to my GP and she approves using it for monitoring baby's fever. Wish it had bigger batteries though since it uses a button type of thermometer which for me is harder to find in stores compared to other conventional AA batteries. Not complaining though as I usually change the batteries regularly to maintain this thermometer. But overall, it has saved lives in my family and worth every penny I spent over it. I have alwayd recommended buying it.

A thermometer, really?
I have read nothing but fabulous reviews about this thermometer and was horrified to see that it uses a button battery coupled with a quick release cover. Seriously?! This is so dangerous, I don't feel comfortable using it. I don't understand why Cherub Baby doesn't add a scew to secure the battery cover.
I can't comment on its function as a thermometer because its design is life threatening so I won't be using it.

Consistent, Accurate and Reliable
it's been a year since I bought this thermometer and has saved me trips to the hospital for my bub. It is accurate and has consistent readings. I had the batteries changed as it was not responding after eight months of use but after changing the battery, I never had problems anymore after changing the battery. It displays temp clearly on the LCD and has a very functional fever alarm for those who frequently forget the normal temp range for baby.

Inaccurate readings
This thermometer is dangerous!! It never gives an accurate reading. The thermometer read 36.6 when my daughters temperature was 39. I emailed a complaint to Cherub baby and they sent a new thermometer which was equally as bad!! I emailed again but this time got no response!! Do not buy this product.

Hi. My Thermometer doesn't show room temperature any more. I'm away at the moment and really need it! Has anyone experienced this or know how to fix it? I've changed the battery with no success. Forehead and ear temp seems to be working. Thanks.

Thank you for your enquiry. The thermometer will only take the ambient room temperature after the clock has been set.
I hope this information helps.

Hi Lulu and sorry to hear of your issues!
- Before taking the readings make sure the probe end is clean. It is very common that the probe end can be dirty or have ear wax in it and this will provide an incorrect reading. Always gently clean the probe end after each use with an alcohol swab. - Becuase young children have very small blood vessels, it is possible for infrared thermometers to miss the vessel, therefore its why we recommend at least 3 scans in the same spot on the temple and then use the highest. This explains why you may have had a low reading in one spot but a high reading in another. - Never use the thermometer where the surface temperature of the forehead is altered (ie directly in an airconditioner, or ice pack has been on the forehead). - There are more instructions and tips in the quickstart guide but we are always available to assist on [email protected] or (03)90051734!A few tips we can recommend:
- Take 3 readings from the right temple only then use the highest reading obtained.... Read more
