saved me heaps of time. I worried less

published

I thought I might need a more accurate thermometer after the old fashioned under arm one was just too hard to use. I bought this on eBay and after a few months of using it, I’ve found it to be accurate and super easy to use. It shows me the temperature in less than 2 seconds and the previous temperature, all in one screen. I can see why its won so many awards, it really is a great product.

Wonderful experience

published

Until now I am thankful that I have this thermometer at home. My baby is now three years old and I still never regretted getting one for me and him. I was surprised that this one has some bad reviews but I get why because there is a trick to using it. My friend gave me the tip. You have to put it against the temple of the forehead and get 3 readings, then pick the highest one. But also make sure the probe is super clean, that’s the key. I only realsiedaftter getting some inconsistent readings and telling my friend. Now it worked with me without a fail.

in love with this one

published

Thing with this is its great performance. I have tried this along with the manual thermometer ( my68-year-old mum prefers that to use this with my bub) and both thermometers display the same result. The only thing that’s different is the this thermometer gets the temp in less than 5 second unlike the manual thermometer my mum likes that takes more than 3 minutes.
I also love that it tells me when the temp is above the normal temp, it has the fever indicator.

Has never been accurate

published

Despite changing batteries several times, this product has never really been accurate. Today my baby felt warm so I grabbed the thermometer and it said 36.9. I decided to go to the dr as it didn't seem correct. Lucky I trusted my instinct as my baby had a temp of 39.7. So disappointed in this product and it's dangerous fals readings.

Sorry but when it comes at the expense of my baby's health, I simply can't rely on your product. We have already bought another product.

the indicator that comes with it is a great feature, it also gets me the most accurate temperature

published

I was surprised that this one after some negative reviews, actually works well. My bub was once sick with a fever and a cold. I talked to the doctor to try to figure out the best way to take bubs temperature and now I have 2 thermometers to do that. As per docs recommendation I’ve checked bubs temperature when not sick over numerous readings to figure out bubs normal temp. Now when bub has a fever its so easy to know as I compare against the normal readings Ive recorded. The normal temp range is remembered by it so when it goes above normal, it kinda reminds you of that. thanks to that indicator. I got this on sale for half the price of the other forehead thermometer I own so I believe that this is a fantastic buy.

Reliable thermometer, one shouldn't worry at all.

published

The mixed reviews I saw online made me a little hesitant to get this one but its features are hard to resist. I bought this from baby village and tried using this with my 21-month old baby. After using it for a couple of months, this product has never been a failure to me. The temperature I got from the other thermometer I got is the same as what I got from the Cherub Baby one (which helped assure me it’s accurate). After a few incidents of dropping it, the LCD indicator and the thermometer itself seem to be working fine. I recommend changing the battery after using it for over 7 months as I found it getting funny temperatures at about 6 months until I changed the battery and then all was fine again.

A frustrating and inaccurate product

published

So far I haven't been able to get one consistent reading from it. Scanning the same part of the head it will jump by a number of degrees every time I use it. The ear method does the same. I scanned my baby's head at least 10 times one night as I could feel she was burning up but it showed a normal temperature, then suddenly 38 degrees, then back to 36 after rescanning it. I ended up using a $10 thermometer which finally verified a fever was present. This product is not worth risking your child's health on.

Requires cleaning each time but that got it working well

published

Was working great for ages then just started giving me really weird readings. Called their hotline and troubleshooted. The probe needs to be cleaned after each time I use it. They explained it’s a lot cheaper than using probe covers which is true but it is a bit of a pain but the alcohol wipes are cheap and worked effectively! I think parents need to know this. Overall its good, but read the instructions carefully!!

Inaccurate

published

Gives different reading everytime. So what exactly do i go with? 36 or 40 degrees Celsius?

However, after many attempts, I realised the best and most accurate way to get the best and most consistent reading is by using the ear thermometer instead of the inferred. I made sure to properly put it inside her ear and thankfully it shows the same reading each time. Hopefully her fever will come down soon!

Doesn't work properly, not safe battery comes out easily

published

It does not work properly, measuring my son 4x will always show different temperature. The button it's pain to press and it takes to long for the temperature to appear, often the whole thing just turns off. My wiggly son is too quick to escape so it's not ideal. It is not safe around kids the back with the battery opens easily and battery comes out. I purchase this because of the good reviews and reward, but I could not be more disappointment. I wish I returned it straight away, but unfortunately the shop is quite far away so couldn't go there with a little baby.

I wanted the best

published

I bought this thermometer for our new born as I received a gold ward so I thought it would be good. I was right it is good and for under $50 it is the best value. I like the fact that it does so much and has an arlarm feature.
We have a few other Cherub baby items and they are all very good and so much cheaper that Avent and Medlion.
We will buy more Cherub Baby if their quality is as good as this. I did have a query with one the bottle warmer and managed to speak to some one straight away - great service !

Screw Lid please!

published

I found my 18mo managed to unzip the nappybag, took out the thermometer, open the battery lid and almost got to the button battery. I know it's not a toy, but we use it around babies&todds so often, and they are often intrigue by it. Please consider a screwlid please.

Very disappointed - inaccurate readings

published

I bought this product after reading so many fantastic reviews but we have found the thermometer readings to be inaccurate. I called to complain and was told to change the batteries even though it's brand new and/or swipe it across the forehead. It's still not working and my little girl has a temperature and I am unable to keep a record of her temperatures. Very disappointed.

Inaccurate!

published

Was hopeful after reading reviews, but this product does not give accurate results. It gives completely different readings when placed on the same point. It ranges from 36-37.2. Not just on our newborn, but on us as well. Had to resort back to under the arm method with a different thermometer. Do not recommend purchasing.

Stand out among others

published

At first, I had doubts on its accuracy but this thermometer really stood out for the past months to be very accurate when I compared its readings with my underarm digital thermometer. This thermometer is easy to use with a unique design to easily scan the temperature in the forehead or in the ear. Easy to clean and keep hygienic too with a little wiping. Wish the LED indicator would come in other designs in the future but so far it serves its purpose well. I had to thank my friend who recommended this thermometer as being hospital grade and recommended by her physician. I'm recommending this to our mother's group too.

Great buy!

published

Got this at a sale but I never regretted buying this thermometer. It's a guarantee that I monitor my bub's temperature every time I observe something wrong. We can never be always sure and a temperature check is from the thermometer always eases my concern. I find it accurate and easy to operate. It displays temperature consistently even after several tries. I'm recommending them to my sister who has kids too.

Almost perfect

published

I had problems with my other thermometer but they were quick to replace it after warranty So props to Cherub Baby for having a good customer service. I bought this from Babys R Us without any problem or glitch. It is easy to operate and not complicated. Any caregiver of my bubs do not have a problem using it. I had doubts on its accuracy ut it seems to be displaying pretty accurate results. I just can't understand the diverse reviews here but for me it's a good and reliable product every mum should have.

Not accurate.

published

We previously had two Braun thermometers that both failed so I wanted something different. Bought this after reading fantastic reviews but am so disappointed in this thermometer. My baby is hot and lethargic and obviously feverish and it gives a reading of 36.6. I've taken to doing 7-8 measurements on each side and only 1 reading is 37.2. And he's red faced and burning up.
I would not recommend this product.

GP approves using them!

published

It's a great relief to have this thermometer. I can use it for my baby and my entire family. It is just the right size and the LCD displays well the temperature and readings with accuracy. One time I brought it to my GP and she approves using it for monitoring baby's fever. Wish it had bigger batteries though since it uses a button type of thermometer which for me is harder to find in stores compared to other conventional AA batteries. Not complaining though as I usually change the batteries regularly to maintain this thermometer. But overall, it has saved lives in my family and worth every penny I spent over it. I have alwayd recommended buying it.

A thermometer, really?

published

I have read nothing but fabulous reviews about this thermometer and was horrified to see that it uses a button battery coupled with a quick release cover. Seriously?! This is so dangerous, I don't feel comfortable using it. I don't understand why Cherub Baby doesn't add a scew to secure the battery cover.
I can't comment on its function as a thermometer because its design is life threatening so I won't be using it.

Consistent, Accurate and Reliable

published

it's been a year since I bought this thermometer and has saved me trips to the hospital for my bub. It is accurate and has consistent readings. I had the batteries changed as it was not responding after eight months of use but after changing the battery, I never had problems anymore after changing the battery. It displays temp clearly on the LCD and has a very functional fever alarm for those who frequently forget the normal temp range for baby.
