My favourite appliance ever
I've had this unit for a few years now. I use it three or 4four times a week. I can say without hesitation it is the best kitchen appliance I have ever owned. If I could marry it I would! A few months after I first bought it I started having problems with the pressure not building on pressure cooker setting. I replaced the seal which seemed to have stretched a bit. aling issue has never recurred. I've also never had a problem with the bowl coating as others have...years down the track my bowl is still perfect. With the qualification of always checking the seal before use (which takes 10 seconds) I couldn't recommend this unit more strongly.

Every effective
Usually use it for Indian cookings. Very easy to use. Easy to clean by only hand wash. Not dishwasher safe as mentioned in the manual. The pressure cook and brown mode is really good.

Excellent - quick reliable cooking
Very happy. Plant based cooking; great for soups, beans, chick peas, lentils, veg - follow closely instruction booklet. Saute, steam, rice, slow cooking functions good. Quick, easy cleaning & odour free. User friendly. My experience has exceeded expectations & I’m a senior too!

I absolutely loved my multi cooker and have used it for about 6 months . I know have the E4 error and do not know how to reset. I have cleaned it properly but now can't get rid of this error.

The pressure cooker function does not work. The wee metal thing pops up and let's all the steam out. So the meals burns. Was the whole point of buying machine. Very disappointed

Non stick flakes off in bowl
Seems to work ok but the coating inside the cooking bowl flakes off. The replacement bowl is about $50. We always used the proper spoons etc in the bowl so it wouldn't scratch. Reading other reviews this seems to be a common problem but Sunbeam will not replace under warranty without a receipt (unfortunately we didn't keep it). Bottom line, the bowl will need to replaced after a few months of regular use, during this time i guess the coating mixes with the food which surely can't be a good thing.. Avoid this product.

I bought this one month ago and some functions are fraud. The sales refused to change to a new one for me as it seems fine. Not recommended at all!

Very poor quality, leaks steam.
Leaks steam the whole time it's cooking. Poor quality and not fit for purpose. Returning to store for another make. Don't waste your time with this one. Sunbeam are a bit hit and miss with their products.

Useful until it died a beeping E4 death.
I purchased this item last October from MYER in Highpoint, Melbourne and have only started using it recently. It was great however now when I turn it on it beeps continually with an E4 error. I’ve tried all of the tips to get it back but to no avail. It appears to be useless now and I’m incredibly disappointed. Prior to the beeping death it was really very useful. I made pot roasts, congee and stock which were great. It was really quick, a but noisy but no more than expected.

Makes it easy to feed the masses!
I have had this multi-cooker for a few years now. I used it sparingly for the first year due to lack of recipes, but now it mostly lives on the kitchen bench, it is that versatile.
Best features are being able to brown meat at the beginning and thicken liquid at the end with the Brown, Sauté and Simmer functions, and the Keep Warm feature.
I’ve cooked pulled meats to feed large crowds, as well as small meals for our family of 4 once or twice a week, even cooking 2 meals at once in 2 oven bags. Will use it for rice if it’s not already being used...Read more

Great unless you want to pressure cook...
I was given this for Christmas in 2017, and ever since it was brand new have always found it almost impossible to use the pressure function. All other cooking functions are great to use but I constantly find myself wasting 10-20 minutes trying to get the pressure to build through the finiky seals that leave too much room for human error. The valve on too doesn't seem to lock into place properly at all so you have to guess if it's in the right position to hold pressure.

Perfect untill its not
Although I have had my cooker for quite some time I have only used it maybe a dozen times. It was fantastic, could sear, slow cook and pressure cook. Then bang E4, with and without the lid on. Checked the seal and that it was clean still nothing helps. As I said it was fantastic, food turned out perfect, time cooking was great, easy to use and clean. But with this error theres nothing I can do, Im not prepared to pay alot to get it seen to either because its normally 50 before they even look at a product. Reading reviews I see thus is a common problem and have to wonder why theres no product recall.

Sunbeam multicooker
Multicooker works very well. I love it but the problem its pot which every six months turned scratch n black coating comes out. We can't use this kind of pot. Otherwise, the machine works perfectly.
When I go to buy this pot its coat $50. Which is too much. I can't spend money every six months.
So stop using it.

Takes the pressure off dinner time!
Love this product. Easy way to make tasty dinners when you are time poor! So many recipe options and the fact that it is multi-function is a bonus! No reliability issues at all, works right every time. Easy to clean. Supplied recipes at the back of the manual are a good starting point too!

Culinary Russian Roulette!
When it works well this multi-cooker is a really handy appliance. Great for making stew or curry in a fraction of the time it would take on the stove top. Sears well. and has a good variety of cooking settings.
Unfortunately it randomly malfunctions by running out of liquid (despite adding the correct amount initially) as the lid seal can be temperamental, allowing too much steam to escape while trying to achieve pressurisation. The result is burnt or poorly cooked food....Culinary Russian roulette!

Hi Katarina and thanks for the review. Please make sure that there is no food under the seal in the lid as this can prevent the unit reaching full pressure.
I always check the lid and seal are clean before cooking, and that the seal is firmly in place. Unfortunately the problem happens randomly, and is not related to food under the seal.

As all other people said, the cooker keep appearing E4 no matter what I did...
Used for half year +, the E4 came out occasionally and now 100% happening....
Should read the comments here before buy....

Disappointed to say the least
I was given the cooker as a gift by my daughters in March. Used it for 2 weeks and loved it. Then tiny seal on underside of lid broke. After a frustrating call to Sunbeam where I was on hold forever they said I’d need a whole new lid assembly as they don’t replace just the small seal (seriously??), I waited 3 weeks for the new assembly as they’d sent it to wrong address. despite following the instructions in the booklet exactly. The pressure gauge is flimsy, and hard to tell when it’s in the right position. Another long and frustrating call to Sunbeam. Apparently it was my fault for not informing them the new lid did not have a seal and you can’t use one from another lid. So now I am waiting for yet another new lid assembly. The Sunbeam staff member said she would send a confirmation email and in the email would be her direct number to contact should there be any further issues. Great appliance...
I did look at the reviews before buying but was really looking for a delayed start slow cooker and this was the only one I could find.
I already have pressure cookers so was not worried about the reviews re pressure. I am surprised... have used it as slow cooker... delayed start fabulous... but also now my favourite pressure cooker. Was a bit worried when it took a while to get to pressure but it has come through on every occasion. Great as you can prepare in one pan ... pressure or slow cook ... even simmer ... don’t use stove anymore and very happy.. Have the extra warranty so get the error I will take it back ... awesome appliance

Unit does not seal on pressure function
Every time we have used it the unit has sealing problems. Either it wont seal at all and you have to cool it down ad try to reset the seal (more the once each meal) or it seals the unseals mud cooking. The design of the seal and the flimsy attachment to the lid is at fault and makes the unit useless.

Was great for a week
Bought it a week ago and made two great meals. Now it’s stuck on an E4 error no matter what I do and is completely useless. The manual says to reset but give no instructions on how to do so and no combination of button mashing or turning the power on and off yields anything other than E4.

Hello Sid,
E04 means that pressure can not gain - to fix that remove gasket entirely from the lid. Clean and dry and replace firmly back into the lid. Refer to page 24 for cleaning guide. Ensure the lid is locked on, and the pressure valve is in the SEAL position. If this error occurs again, ensure the gasket and the valves are clear from debris. Then reset the unit. Hope that helps, if the message remains after these steps please return the cooker to retailer for a replacement.
