We paid in full for house contents in a container to EU in Feb, however it is now still in Melbourne. It’s been transfer to another company due to company’s bankruptcy!?
We now have to pay again for the new company for shipping.
We are in legal advice and will report this to ASIC for the Chess Moving Melbourne office.
They may be good for local move as per other reviews but DO NOT attempt to use this company for International moving.

The Move was rocking from the start, nearly a month has gone by and I do not know where my stuff is, i have not received a return call. nor my money back. I did purchase insurance but i have been thrown around to lawyers and other branches. I just want my stuff to actually arrive and to speak to someone who can help.

Household move from Germany back home to Australia.

Zero communication from Chess agent. Had to constantly chase for answers and status of import. Delivery truck turned up to the wrong address on the day of goods delivery. Had to involve management in the process after agent could/would not communicate status of delivery. Before management involved in process, not one email answered or call returned, after management involvement, started receiving answers.

Returned phonecall or email isn't difficult!

We recently relocated from London to Melbourne. Once our container cleared custom, Chess Melbourne delivered our container for us. Steve, Simon and joe from Chess were great. The unloaded all our boxes, put all our furnitures together. Took away all rubbish. Excellent communication from their office too.

Would definitely use Chess again when we move next time.

We moved a container load of stuff from Melbourne to Port Douglas (2700km) and it went off without a hitch at a cost that was lower than expected. All was delivered on time, communication was excellent throughout the process and the moving men at both ends were extremely efficient, friendly and helpful.This is the 6th time we have used Chess over the years in both home and office moves and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I moved my home stuff from KSA to MEL, I received them on time despite of a little delay because of christmas holiday. The staff was very responsive and active, they provided all necessary documents and helping me all over the clearance process. We moved a three bedroom house from France to Gippsland - the move was huge due to us having a very big Man Shed. The Melbourne Team helped us through CUstoms, stored the items at a very good rate and then delivered on time. The team in the Melbourne Office were great - always happy to give assistance - nothing too much trouble - seriously good team. The delivery team were amazing - all items unpacked, assembled and the boxes and wrapping were removed - all in 30 plus degrees with good humour and hard work - well done Chess Moving Melbourne.

3-bedroom house move to new address 50 Km away. Pre-pack, pickup and delivery to new address proceeded as quoted with no issues, no breakages. Move included a large number of framed prints and paintings, pot plants and tools.

Chess did a great job picking my belongings up from storage in Perth and delivering them to Melbourne. Most of my gear in storage had been packed in a hurry, but chess professionally bubble wrapped, labelled, transported and delivered everything without incident. I appreciated the effort they went to in wrapping everything for safe transport. Even put my flat screen tv into a box complete with foam packing. Cheers chess!

From my initial inquiry with Sue, to the last box being unloaded Chess has been great. We downsized from a large 4 home to a small 3 bedroom and therefore needed juggle some large pieces of furniture around to make it work in our new home. Mem and the boys did this with pleasure, even offering suggestions on placement. We only moved a short distance but had Chess store our belongings for a week to allow for painting. Uplift and delivery were completed efficiently and in a timely manner. I have no hesitation in recommending Chess, this is my second move with them; the first some 10 years ago from Adelaide to Melbourne which was also a great experience.

Our move was from a 4 bedroom house With quite a large living area to a retirement village. We moved about 30 kms. We found Chess absolutely marvelous from phone contact, assessment, packing and actual move which took place very smoothly. We found all the staff delightful right down to collecting our boxes/wrapping paper. Might add we used Chess 7 years ago and were confident in using them again.
