Excellent value for money
Instant Up Gold Dark 6PBeen using this tent every other weekend for the last few months. It has been really put to the test in this La Niña summer we are having, and has withstood some epic downpours along with high wind and hail.....Dry as a bone inside! Good amount of room for queen double high mattress, cot and dog bed. Built in LED lights are a bonus, and the canvas type floor means you can walk on it in the middle of the night without making much noise. Goes up really easily too, plus they make made the bag bigger than it needs to be which makes packing it away

Also, the darkroom coating is amazing, you wouldn’t know the time of day when closed up inside of it which means some solid lay ins after a late night of campfire drinking! The downsides are that it is pretty big (long) and pretty heavy too, however, that really isn’t an issue. Also, I wouldn’t recommend using the front as an awning in bad weather, bit of a rain pocket really. Would recommend this to anyone, and for approx $450 I think it is a bargain.Super Tent
Instant Up Gold Dark 6PWe owned the silver series (the base model) about 10 years ago. Now we have kids and decided to get a new one. This one is much more expensive than the base model but worth every extra cent.
The dark technology works REALLY well. It helps when putting the kids to bed (in summer they go to bed before it gets dark). It also helps with what very limited sleep in the kids let us have.
Another huge step forward is the vestibule. Again, really worth spending the extra money to get it. Not only can you leave your shoes and other stuff out there but
... Read morewhen its raining the vestibule stops water getting into the tent when you open the zipper to the tent proper. Set up time is similar to the other Coleman Instant Up Tents but takes maybe 1 extra minute to do the vestibule. The frame goes up in 30 odd seconds. But the fly and pegging down takes longer. Over all the set-up time is fair for the size of the tent but most importantly the setup is easy. We had some very windy days whilst we were away, and the tent preformed quite well, especially given its boxy shape. If youre looking for a good quality tent thats both fast and easy to set up I can recommend the Coleman Instant Up especially for the price. If you are going to get one from the Instant Up series, I strongly recommend paying the extra and going for the one with the dark tech and the vestibule.
Great features
Instant Up Gold Dark 6PGreat features: Ease of set up, weatherproof entry, quality materials, internal privacy windows, extra large bag, fantastic ventilation, internal pockets, lighting cord secures. Cons: zippers catch sometimes.
Used this tent for the first time Easter weekend. Set up - two minutes for tent, five minutes total with vestibule and pegged two people. The darkroom feature is great for a sleep in however without the windows open it can be very dark even in the daylight.
The black internal lining gets very hot in full sun (30c) and radiates heat. Have a Coleman Gold tent 10p it is cooler. A rainy day was no issue. Internal dimensions are smaller than Coleman advise as they use external measurements.
Good Tent
Instant Up Gold Dark 6PI brought this tent to make life easier when camping. I found that this tent is easy to put up and take down. I am impressed with the quality of the tent and the ease of use. During our trip we encountered 2 storms and it went through these well, considering it is a tent not a caravan it performed well.
It is dark in the tent when closed down which you need when in camping grounds with lights are on and when sunrise comes you are not woken by light. It has good ventilation with 2 good size windows and entry from both ends. You have a

We are planning another trip with this tent instead of towing a camper the extra payment to get a better quality tent should pay off with less petrol spent on towing a van. In all heading in right direction.Find out how Coleman Instant Up Gold Dark 6P compares to other Tents
