Returns policy
The Costco customer service staff who happened To handle my return which happened to be an expired vitamin tablets that Costco sold my wife were so so rude and had unprofessional behaviour that I have vowed never to set foot in this shop. They didn’t have a clue to customer service and showed no signs of maturity. No wonder Costco doesn’t have a customer complaints or if anyone knows one please post it here.
The front line are first point of contact and the least Costco can do is train them with PR skills

They offer some good bulk discounts, but you have to look for them
Friendly customer service - but you are really left to your own devices to find what you want. There are no fitting rooms in store. They offer some good bulk discounts, but you have to look for them - and some things were more expensive that a regular grocery store. The items which were offered with a good discount, you lad to buy in bulk e.g. a year's supply of toothpaste etc. (They sold pizza in the foyer of the store. It was the worst pizza I have ever eaten in my life.)

Great for Bulk Buy
Good price for fish, poultry and meat. Also it is a good place to shop for raw pet food and can food. Sometimes you can find rare item too just like Aldi special buy.

Fantastic!
First visit and I am in love! The savings from our first visit was very surprising, comparing to Coles and Woolworths.
And the diesel from the costco pump was 30 cents cheaper per litre, compared to our normal pump.
Very impressed, and very happy to have signed up for membership. Looking forward to our next visit.

Racist man serving Pizza
Ordered a full pizza and I forgot to ask for the cut into 12 pieces instead of the std 6 pieces. Was told 10-15 mins wait. Actual wait time was 25 mins. I saw others who ordered after me being served first. I asked the Chinese guy for an update on my order and he just shock his head. He served at least 2 other chinese guys and he asked them if they wanted it cut into 12 pieces and obliged. An guy served before me got cold shoulder when he wanted it cut to 12 pieces. I too got told off for asking for 12 slices. Whereupon I told him that he needed a change of attitude or find another job. He replied: "go complain, my name is Jay".

New product
It was really disgusting and very inappropriate for Costco to sell even coffins in the store. The coffin display is very upsetting and for me is out of respect. I was even thinking if I still want to keep shopping there. I am a regular shopper since you opened.

A very mixed bag
Be very careful shopping at Costco. Not everything is cheaper here. They have some good quality items but also a lot of nasty American food imports in their Kirkland home brand.
Where Costco has items that are not easy to find elsewhere, they demand good money for them. Where they have competition from other local retailers, the situation is better. Nothing unusual there, I suppose, but it's another reason not to assume you are getting a bargain.
My favourite items here include paper towel, toilet and facial tissues, bin liners, toiletri...Read more
es and other domestic consumables, where some good deals are available in both brand name and Kirkland products. Fresh produce is often the same price or more expensive than the local green grocer, even in bulk quantities, and no better in quality. Check the price per kg. I have found this particularly in relation to onions, cucumbers, melons, lemons etc. I have seen checkout staff at Costco Crossroads being rude and authoritarian on a scale unseen by my eyes at Coles or Woolworths. They bark at people who haven't bought anything and just want to get out of the shop - but on the "wrong side" of the checkout (despite the fact that there are no "no exit" signs exhibited), they bark at customers who put heavy/large items on the checkout conveyor belt, while other staff bark at customers about NOT putting the same items on the conveyor. Yes, this sort of thing has happened to me, too. It's breathtaking. They act like they own you once you enter the store. Not impressed with that aspect of the experience at all.Similar opinion? Rude Staff!
Costco needs to send staff for training in customer service. I regret paying for membership and I most definately will not renew it. Never have I come across such rude staff ever!

Just joined and so far I'm impressed!
I just joined Costco yesterday at their Crossroads, NSW store. Joining was easy with my driver's license as ID and we also got a family card for my Mum as we live at the same address. I'll admit I think membership fees ($60) cuts into the savings you make. It really pays to know your prices and think about what you are buying before getting carried away. Some items you must buy a 2 or 3 pack so if you use that amount it's great. I got cat food and canned fruit etc as well as some sweets that you can't buy elsewhere in Aus. But there were other ...Read more
items that routinely go on special at Coles/Woolies, such as Oreos and other Cadbury biscuits, that I didn't buy as it wasn't any cheaper to buy them here. The liquor section had a few good buys too. The bakery though is where I think they are great - lots of cakes, breads and entertainer packs of sandwiches, pies and sushi etc all at good prices. All staff were pleasant and so were most of the customers. Only thing I regret was getting a $2 hot dog/drink combo at the cafe afterwards - not to my taste but I'll try something different next time. Worth it if you live near an outlet and can go often. I regret not joining sooner.1 comment

Waste of time and money!
Too expensive compared to other shops coles woolies or aldi. The only good thing is am going back to get my $60 back. Not worth the hustle long waiting at the counter and poor customer service.

Poor service, Better stick to Woolies
Costco is pulling a serious rort by charging a ridiculous fee for membership, I do not understand why they charge that much when the prices for their items is overpriced and mediocre, I can pick the same items from Woolworths for a fraction of the price.
Staff are pretty arrogant too, When I asked for a certain item they looked grumpy and dumbfounded, Checkout staff seemed smug too. Definitely not going to renew my membership once it expires.

Happy Costco Cumstomer
We have been shopping at Costco for a few months now, and love it. Some of the products are more expensive than coles/woolies when you work out the price for an individual item, but many are way cheaper. For example, $3.90 each for men's Rexona deodorant compared to $6.90 - $7 at the main supermarkets. $13.90 for 900grams of coconut oil compared to $19.98 for the exact same product at the local health food shop. And $8.89 for 24 pepsi max cans is a steal.
"Prices change EVERYDAY" is what the cashier told me when I mentioned something I purcha...Read more

Won't be renewing my membership
Not for me, staff were rude and un-helpful, no real savings to be had, I have just put this down to a bad experience I wont repeat, if this is how Americans run their supermarkets I hope no more of them set up business here.

A bit of competition
We finally have a business that brings competition to to the big retailers like coles and woolies. Most items are pretty cheap and the meat qualty is so much better than the retail stores. People may think it cost more but you pay for what you get. Toilet paper is my favourite item there. Frozen foods are cheap. They also have stuff the other retailers don't like american cheese and brancorts yoghurt. Good frozen asian food too. Just be careful as some cold product get left out of the fridge for too long and staff put them back in. Have had som...Read more

So now I have tried more products and am even more impressed. Tried the steak - very good. Unlike Coles/Woolies, who always seem to hide fat on the underside of the pack, this was very lean. I cut it ... Read more
into smaller serves before freezing as it's too big otherwise. The cheesecake was excellent. But again only good if entertaining as it is huge, but at only $20 excellent value. Also tried a Danish pack, but having to buy a 12 pack didn't suit me. I recommend if you have a family member who wants to go halves on some of these items occasionally as otherwise it becomes wasteful. The pizza at the cafe is also excellent, and I'm told it's the same as the bake at home one in their bakery. I'm yet to meet a rude employee at Crossroads, so am surprised so many other people have had issues.
