Yes, if it is a paid default then contact the company. You have to write a statement as to why you couldn't pay the debt at the time, sign it and get it sighted by a JP and then they will remove the default. That easy.. no need to pay anyone to remove it for you! I've done it before..

Write a letter to Vodafone and get it done by urself otherwise you will end up paying extra for no reason. Let them knw the reason by u were unable to pay and ur current financial situation as well as how much can you payoff on each dollar

Why are the services so expensive? I'm looking into a company to help me and worried I will be getting myself into another debt doing so. Can someone explain the process for me please?

Hi Toni,
Don't go spending any $ with these guys. You can do the credit repairing yourself either through contact with each credit provider yourself or if that doesn't work go to the financial services ombudsman. It may take some time to do it yourself but it won't cost you anything. A friend of mine went through these guys just to cough up a couple thousand dollars he didn't have for them to tell him in the end he still had to pay the erroneous debt in question anyway! The ombudsman also told the same. Be very cautious when considering any sort of "credit repair" company. They'll all have a disclaimer sating they don't/won't or can't guarantee to fix you credit issues.
I have a flawless credit record and Credit Savvy still gave me a below average credit score because Veda information showed two credit "enquiries" by 2 different banks/credit providers which were made on the same day! I had to sort that one out myself. Each time you make an application it is deemed an "enquiry" which for some bazaar and erroneous and stupid reason, adds to the deterioration of a person's credit score, thus their rating. This happened to me when I have never been in arrears or missed a payment etc. So, be warned. Credit repairing is something you can and should do yourself. APRA has a website with all you need to know about anything credit. Don't be like my friend and lose money for nothing.

Hi! Yes don't give any of these guys $2000+ or even $20.
Unfortunately if you really did not pay back a loan and have been listed then you need to wait your time out.

I applied with credit repair australia and was advised that they can definitely help me. They didn't take notes or listen to the full story. They gave me generic information which wasn't relevant to my case and my default still stands. How do i go about getting a refund for the services in which i was promised and didn't receive? So disappointed that i lost days of pay as i needed to go to court and was advised that there was no reason for me to be there as I had admitted that i owed the money. I want my money back! How do i get a refund?

Keep in mind that if the ombudsman can't get it removed credit repair do nothing but if the ombudsman is successful then they charge you 1000 dollars. Don't be a fool and get sucked in go to the ombudsman and save yourself the money. They will claim they did the work but in reality they do nothing!

Hi Dave, yes cancel it now before cooling off period of 3 days! After 3 days and you don't cancel it you will regret it trust me. I'm not sure if there is a cancellation fee, make sure you email them and tell them you cancel the thing! Call the "Credit and debt hotline" or "financial legal rights Australia" just google the phone number this is a free advice from goverment agency, they will explain to you and you will know how sucks this CRA company. I'm a victim so just trying to spread the words and help someone that doesnt know this is a scam, trust me. Have a nice day!

Just send an email. Beware that as they are a financial service they have a cooling off period but that's usually 24-48hrs. So they will likely charge some sort of cancelation fee.

Interesting so I should get my $3000 back which they have told me I will only see the fee's back which is about $500. I don't see that as a money back guarantee.
All the best Mick. Try the ombudsman yourself before out laying such an amount for something that isn't guaranteed but they will make you feel like your case is an easy beat. This week there taking my case back to the ombudsman 3rd time in 17months as they finally realised after me telling them the address my bill was sent to I haven't lived at for over 12years which I was 13 at the time when my parents split it's just a mess an quite frustrating as they knew this all along.
Goodluck :)
