Product performance and service below expectations with our Brumby
Despite advertising this camper as offering 'precision engineering and unfailing durability' this has not been the case. During a recent trip we discovered a fracture at the 'elbow' of the metal rear support bow which extends out to erect the trailer tent. Had this broken completely it would have torn through the tent, causing major damage and making the camper unusable. While CUB staff provided initial advice on how to temporarily patch up the fractured metal bar with plastic hose and plastic ties, they took no responsibility for replacement o...Read more
f the broken steel bar - insisting that this was normal 'wear and tear'! It now happens that a heavier gauge metal bar has been introduced in the past year or so (I wonder why?) and if we want to replace the existing broken bar with this it would cost $95 plus two new side support bars at $80 each. Alternatively a new metal bar from the original specification metal could be supplied for $95. (Why on earth would we fit something that had failed!). Regrettably, other failures have included inadequate battery clamps (the battery came loose and shorted the electric circuit), leaking water tank, leaking pipe from pump to sink, broken jerry can holder, broken hydraulic lifting mechanism required to elevate the bed, and broken winding tape to raise and close down the camper. While the basic camper chassis and suspension is good the lack of attention to fitting and fixtures and poor service response is poor. It is unlikely that we would buy or recommend another product from this supplier.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great Camper can't wait to go camping again
First time out we had high winds to deal with and the Brumby was so easy to put up and didn't flap at all. It is a well thought out camper and very strong, with everything you really need. Was very easy to tow easy to set up and easy to pack up again. And I had a perfect nights sleep. What a way to camp.
Cumphie bed, easy to set up, strong and can go anywhere the car can go.

Bestest, Bestest, Bestest
We received ours early march this year. It has already been into the national parks, and is fantastic. We got it fitted with a solar panel, and the innerspring mattress, Tropical Roof, and the Deluxe Awnings, and etc. We took our Cubby House to White Tree Bay, Myall Lakes National Park for Five days ..... totally dependent on its batteries and the solar panel .... Wow, fantastic .... the contents of the onboard freezer stayed frozen the entire time, even had some food still frozen when we returned back home.
Easy to set up, you feel safe inside, enough room to swing the proverbial cat, and the staff at Cub Know Their Product and are ever so proud, deservedly so.

Has anyone had a problem with the tent of a Brumby Kamparoo being cut too short on one side allowing water to enter when raining? We are on our 2nd mattress and also replaced the metal poles that hold the tent, they had bent. Replaced with stronger metal poles. These repairs and replacements done at our cost.
Also had repairs done in Tennant Creek so the gas was connected to the stove when we pulled out the cook top, also at our expense.
Contacted Cub regarding a fix for the tent there is a problem due to out of warranty. Never had a problem until on one of our trips it rained. We have to take the trailer to Sydney and they will need it for a week. My husband has health issues and I am unwilling to drive the Hi Lux and trailer in the Sydney traffic. Taking it to a local business to check out the cost of the repairs. Not happy Cub campers.

Regrettably we had similar issues with the tent and support poles which in our model (nearly 10 years old) were inadequate and we had to purchase new stronger replacements (not good!) - although Cub's Melbourne agent did reinstall them. This wasn't a big job though. It also sounds like the tent support frame was not correctly set in the first place as it shouldn't be letting water in as you describe. We also had to replace the water line to the sink which was inadequate for normal use conditions. The Cub has been quite a good camper but unfortunately the company failed (in our view) when it came to providing support and replacements on basic structural components. It is worth speaking again with Cub's Sydney management for better support as I don't think the local agent will do much. This is not good publicity for Cub and it's in their interests to provide more support in backing up their product.

Is there a wiring diagram for the 2015 Cub Kamparoo Brumby? Battery Charger is located on RHS interior.

Not on mine Jadrak (2010 model) . I suggest that you contact CUB directly and ask for one. We just had the wiring checked and a new 240V/12V switch installed by our local auto electrician. The original arrangement was not partic good.
I have contacted CUB but their answer was vague. You would think that in producing a product that there would be plans and schematics and that these would be available to the consumer.

I have a cub brumby kamperoo about 2 yrs old. The electrical connector does not always "connect" when I slide out the stove wash basin unit. I can normally get it to work by jiggling the unit, but it then often disconnects when I let go. Is there a trick to getting the "connector to connect" or does it need adjustment or repair? Grateful for any advice.

Mine is older now and doesn't have any electronics around the stove. Might have a broken wire in the connectors though should be easy to fix if your handy
Hello Nigel,
Sorry for the late answer, Ive only just discovered this forum, I have the same unit at about the same age, there was a problem with the slide out kitchen draw electrics as I kept blowing fuses and or could not get proper connections. I sent the Brumby back to cub and they replaced the draw unit which is now not perfect but is much better. My latest issue is the 12volt electrical system, it has given me 6+ months of intermittent issues which I have now discovered the problem, Poor parts and workmanship, I sent an email to Cub well over 2 weeks ago advising them what I found and havn't heard a thing !

We have the same problem with our Brumby Kamparoo. Had to have repairs done at Tennant Creek so it would work. They removed the mattress and the mattress base to get access to the problem.
