A total disappointment
Extremely disappointed with this bbq. Over the years we have happily had similar-sized Jumbuck's, bought for a similar price and each has easily lasted 2-3 years. Of course the black paint on the cooking plate gradually wore off but by keeping the surface oiled we had no problems.
We bought this early this year and the thick black paint on the plate started peeling immediately and now looks awful - it's horribly rusted where big 'scabs' have lifted off and oiling hardly makes any difference. This one is going to the dump.

a small bbq you can take anywhere
We needed a bbq that we could take anywhere, and fit is the back of a normal car. We have used this bbq for 4 months every week and we take it in the back of the car. The thing that I like about it is that it still works great and I can handle it by myself.

Cheap and DO THE WORK BBQ but it doesn't last long.
I bought my BBQ a few months ago at Bunnings. The BBQ is easy to assemble and once it's ready for grilling, the BBQ itself feels solid and robust. The problem is that after heating up the steel plate and left the barbecue outside, the grill plate started to rust and by now I will need another steel plate or a new BBQ for my home. It was as cheap as $90 so for the number of parties I threw at home and how fast the BBQ plate got rusted, it was a good value for money purchase.

How do you fold up the legs to put in the boot of the car?
2 answers
There aren't any legs, Sheridan! It's a solid stainless steel cooktop to set on a bench or table and it's not meant to be portable. It also needs a 15 amp plug and draws a large amount of power so, depending on your existing power supply, you could possibly need to get an electrician to install a new circuit.
Me again Sheridan - my apologies I was assuming your question was about a different Hotplate so please ignore my previous reply! In fact we bought the stainless steel hotplate I mentioned because we were very unhappy with the Downunder BBQ which started shedding thick paint off the hotplate as soon as we started using it. Now the hotplate is full of rust.
