DreamPot 5 Litre Questions & Answers
19 questions from our users
I inherited a 5L dreampot - it seems to lose a little heat around the lid - is there meant to be a rubber or silicone type seal? Mine seems to have a groove around the outer of the lid where it mates to the pot body, and I imagine a rubber ring seal is meant o go in there but I never got one - can anyone tell me if there is meant to be one there? (Deampot.com.au is down at the moment so I cant get in touch with them)? Any ideas how to get one?

I have an older 5 Ltd dream pot. Browning or boiling on the stove burns and sticks because the base is quite thin. Do the newer 2 Lt inner pots have a heavier base than the older models?
Sorry, I'm not sure as I haven't seen the older ones, best contact Dreampot directly.
I'm unable to answer this as I've only ever used the current dream pot. You can email dream pot directly and I'd say they'll be the best to ask. This is their link https://www.dreampot.com.au/contact/
Cheers
I had the older inner pot. My dreampot is about 19 years old! The newer pots ( I purchased one about 3 yrs ago) has a thicker base and is a wonderful improvement .
Is it safe to cook chicken in the DreamPot?
Absolutely safe to do so. You actually cook things on the stove for a period of time before transferring the pot to the insulated container. Because of this and the fact that the pot has a lid on so...
Read more there has been a build up of heat inside, things keep on cooking. All good for chicken. Just make sure you commence the cooking process on the stove top.If using the Dreampot to cook corned meat etc while driving on a 4 wheel drive track, does water "slop" from the large inner pot into the outer insulated pot? If it does, does this matter?
Hi there.ive never had that issue ever.just dont fill to brim.. ive been on some very rough roads and had some delishious food cooked while travelling.. lamb shanks were yumm
I've never had that happen and it gets a bit rock and roll on a yacht. I mainly use the smaller inner pan so it's usually not a huge amount of water. A good point to remember is that thermal cookers (...
Read moreall of them) don't have evaporation so a huge amount of water isn't required because it doesn't evaporate away. Short answer, I've never had an issue with liquids slopping about/over. CheersHi, I think the thing is that you don't have a lot of liquid in the pot to start with. The outer insulated pot lid also sits down pretty firm on the inner pot lid as well. I would be surprised if you had a problem.
