Continually have issues
One thing I have learnt with buying white goods - check how they do service calls. Electrolux will only give you a day, not an am/pm slot. In fact no indication of time. Which is very annoying considering how regularly you need to call them out!
I have issues with the drier stopping saying it was full of water when there was none in the container. This has required a couple of visits. eventually they replaced something and it worked for a while. Now it will stop working if it is raining heavily outside (you know the time when you really want to use it) and it is just tumbling - nothing is getting dry.
I would never recommend this product to anyone.
very dissappointed with this purchase!
We've never been overly happy with it's drying capacity. I agree with the above posts... some times your clothes actually smell mildewy because it takes so long for them to dry. We splurged on this purchase and we're very disappointed. Now the metal drum on the inside has actually shattered!! I didn't even know that was possible. How dangerous.
Pathetic
Unbelievable. Had this machine for maybe just on 2 years and tonight it starts making a horrible noise. So I go check it out and find the barrel is cracked and broken almost the whole way round there's even bits of sharp metal sticking out and holes in it as well (probably where the sock gremlin lives). I spent ages researching this machine and others to make sure we got a decent one that would last us 10 plus years and now I find myself in a state of bemusement about this. I'm so p$@&ed off at this. Be warned Who ever answers the phone at Electrolux tomorrow morning.

So thank you but its not worth it.
Waste of money !!!
Just started using this dryer after I finally replaced my 20 year old dryer. My first load took over 3 hrs and no where near dry and my towels stunk after taking them out. Very disappointed in this dryer. Waste of money !!!! I could kick myself now that I didn't do my research. Lucky I still have my old one .

Bad purchase
Nothing is drying, it spins, clothes get hot but still damp ! Worst purchase I am very disappointed. parents own a very basic old dryer and it's great lasted over 12years. These new fancy tech machines do nothing more then cost money to repair. And of course mine now has an E50 msg and I have only had it for a year and a half !!!!

Nothing to recommend it.
After farewelling a dryer that had given nearly thirty years of faultless service, we lashed out and bought the Electrolux. Notwithstanding adjustments for hard/soft water etc, it never dried properly, and we would always have resort to using the manual timer to finish the job properly. Finally this week, after only three and a half years, it died. We attempted to get help from Electrolux, but they still embrace a dark ages policy that requires you to take an entire day off for the service visit, as they won't give you an approximate time or...
Read more a phone call when the serviceman is in the area. The serviceman who did visit said we needed a new motherboard, and that this would cost $600. So we're buying another new dryer and, needless to say, it won't be - and will never be - an Electrolux.Hi Steprenf,

3rd time the metal drum inside the dryer has actually shattered Have had it replaced twice already plus the belt its always breaking..
It first makes a clicking noise when spinning.
Called electrolux and told them about it incase it was happening with others too but they werent very helpful

The most unreliable dryer and white good I have had in 40 years
I bought an Electrolux dryer 2.5 years ago.
About 12 months ago the drum seized and Electrolux took it away for a week and totally rebuilt it.
The drum bearing had worn out.
Now the dryer fails to rotate.
Fan seems to run and it gets hot but with no rotation the clothes just get hot, not dry.
I am not surprised to see how poorly this dryer is rated because that is my experience.
Of course it is now out of warranty
Being the most unreliable dryer I have ever owned I am not sure it is worth spending money on repairs.
I would like to think that white goods had a life greater than 1 to 2 years.
Didn’t think we had quite reached that level of disposable white goods.

Hi Kathy.
From this forum I emailed Leslie last Tuesday and never received a reply.
I just sent you the prior email....
Just an update. Now installing the third replacement idle pulley in 4 years.
Dryer still out of warranty however the new idle pulley I installed in March 2017 has now destroyed itself.
This is obvious...

We have owned this model for many years now
We bought this dryer because we didn't want to deal with venting outdoors - I was a bit dubious about switching to a condenser dryer after issues with a washer/dryer combo (not this brand) but this Electrolux model has been wonderful - used daily over many years and has never missed a beat. Will certainly recommend - does exactly what it should - very happy.

Overpriced and doesn't dry washing
I hate this dryer, it stops and starts with a mind of its own and never seems to get anything dry. If you are looking for a normal dryer that you can throw some damp jeans in and they are dry by the time you have a shower, this is not it. Wish we had brought a traditional dryer at a quarter of the price.
My edh3686gde is no better.. only costs more.
Edh3686gde. Same thing happens with mine...Air inside never really gets hot enough...just lukewarm. what a waste....i still need my rack to complete the drying!
Now i Will see if i can get my money back.....i was told that a serviceman Will charge me to come out and check tje Machine...uggggh. Ugggh

Does not dry effectively - takes so long!
Having purchased this dryer approximately two years ago, we were expecting this superior technology to be a step forward over conventional vented dryers. How wrong... for the same load a vented dryer took 30 mins to dry, this takes over two hours and it still never gets as dry. I've contacted Electrolux early on during ownership and they made a recommendation about the conductivity settings which made no difference unfortunately. Loads take FAR too long and end with damp, warm stuff. I assumed that maybe I had a problem with mine, but reading these reviews I wonder if they're all the same.

Not the best
Have had this dryer for 8 weeks well ive only used it for 3 weeks my hubby got it at The good guys store so it would be here for me comming from the UK ive had condensor dryers for years and they produce heat this machine does not only an odd time the clothes are never dried properly never had an electrolux before so not a good start i have tried it on all the settings i can sometimes get some heat on the mixed setting but not all the time this is not a cheap machine so come on Electrolux get this sorted and improve your reviews and service
Rubbish.
Had the machine for 4 months, broken down for the second time, have to go back to Harvey Norman tomorrow to get it repaired again. I want my money back, a unit that breaks down every 2 months isn't worth having. I will be speaking to consumer affairs. How does rubbish, ripped off, useless sound, also we're pensioners.

Disappointing
I've just written an email to Electrolux Customer Service saying that we too are very disappointed with this machine as others have stated. Our machine is about a year old and our clothes have to be dried on a rack after a couple of hours in the machine. The container does fill with water but ultimately nothing is dry.

Worst "Dryer" ever
These are not an effective dryer. Takes 4 to 6 hours to dry a load. Leaves clothes damp.
Buyers beware. Choose another product as this one will not do as expected. It is basically an $800 paperweight that eats electricity. Electrolux should be ashamed of themselves this product is a dud and shouldn't be sold.

Won't dry!!!want my full refund
What a joke. Had a Bosch and in one cycle to dry our clothes. This electrolux takes 3 cycles to get dry and still not good to put it in the drawers. I will see if good guys give me money back or exchange if not will contact consumer affairs or relevant authority to make sure i am looked after. Will never recomend this product to even my worst enemy. I hope electrolux reads this and send me either an upgrade or a compensation for my issue.
Electrolux EDP2074PDW Condensor Dryer purchased from Harvey Norman 3 years ago now not working at al
Purchased from Harvey Norman 3 years ago, has now stopped working and two local Electrolux repairers have basically told me that it would not be worth repairing with one quoting high $400's to repair, apparently it has 2 power control boards and both need replacing. Definitely avoid at all costs.

Works great
Condenser dryers work a bit differently and with some trial and error, I got it working effectively. Basically, you need to have a decent sized load in there. You cannot dry just one shirt like with a normal dryer. Also be prepared that you need to almost always use the "extra dry" setting and that it will take longer than a traditional dryer. However, I have had it around 4 years and am very happy with it. It's so great not having to leave the door open or risking mouldy walls.
this is a bad dryer
This is a bad product nothing but problems. this is the 5th time i need a tech out 3 in 4 days. just replace the product even better refund so i can get a new brand over the dryer now. Most useless dryer I have had. I have 10 week before having a baby need a good working dryer not one the breaking down ever few days. Very disappointed customers will never recommend or buy your products again

Broken drum
I've had the dryer for about one year and the drum has almost split into two from where its been rotating on the rollers. I have lost my receipt, I'm guessing its not worth fixing. I'm extremely disappointed because I spent a lot of money expecting the quality would match what I paid.
I guess not. I would definitely think twice before buying any electrolux products in the future

Returning it
2 hours to barely dry a towel and a few T-shirts! Are you kidding me? I bought it today and will return it tomorrow. What a piece of garbage.
It seems the clothes are just getting real hot and the moisture has nowhere to go that's why it takes for ever to dry.

Thanks but no Thanks. I've lost trust in your brand. I got a Fisher & Pekal replacement one, and I'm very happy with it.
Hot (cold?) garbage
Tumbles without heating at all. Eventually stops and displays E60 error code, which isn't covered in the manual and there are zero helpful resources online which address these error codes.
Got this for free from a family member. Thought it would be worth repairing if there was something wrong with it, but these reviews have made me realise it's just a straight-up lemon. Would be annoyed beyond belief if I had paid for this, so thanks Product Review! As it is, I can just kick it to the curb and get another dryer, and hopefully confirm that this one isn't worth bothering with. The lackluster customer support on display here has also ensured I'm not getting an Electrolux.

Tumble What'er??)
A misnomer, if ever there was one. I've had this just on a year now and have hated it since day one. It doesn't dry - simple. It tumbled plenty, sure, but to no avail. I've finally succumbed and ordered a new clothesline so that I don't have to spend winter under damp doonas in wet pajamas! It's not a condenser issue, my precious dryer was a condenser too....this machine simply doesn't do what it's designed to do. Never again.

Read moreffective (? why are they there then?). It's been about a month, and still everything is left damp after 2-3 cycles. I just called customer care again....their solution? They'll send a technician back again. I explained that this was probably a waste of time, as other than the mysterious 'settings' change, I'd been told that there was no problem with the machine. I told them that the problem is the model - it's shonky but according to customer care, there are no problems with these machines. Really? Do they read these reviews? How many angry customers does it take before they admit that this is just a lemon and get us a solution? I want my money back, or a different model (one that dries as opposed to tumbling uselessly for hours). MASSIVELY UNHAPPY CUSTOMEROther Condenser Clothes Dryers
