I like the features on this machine...the refresh option is great...takes creases out of clothes..saves ironing. It has an anticrease function as well. The controls are easy to use and the lint filter is easy to remove and clean . Overall this machine does everything I require of it and I am happy with the purchase

Good Dryer with a Fair Price
This is not the best energy efficient dryer in the market but all the energy efficient ones are very more expensive than this one .
This dryer has a lot of options, very easy to use and it has a sensor dry. It has also child saftey on its door. Very Reliable Product !

Great efficient Dryer
This is a very good dryer with a great range of settings so there is always a suitable drying setting for any type of clothing, linen etc. The unit has a 5.5 kg capacity it takes a very big load of wet washing and dries well without damaging the clothes and making them wrinkled. The dryer is very quiet and the filter works great.
All up a very good unit.

Dryzabone
This is a great dryer, with 6.5 kgs capacity it takes the biggest load of wet washing and with its great range of settings there is a suitable drying setting for all type of clothes, linen etc. The unit is seriously quiet and the filter works a treat. Get the dry clothes out at the end of cycle and there is minimal creasing. Would be good to have a visual timer so you know how long to go in the cycle.

Good for rainy days
Good clothes dryer. The price is reasonable as well. Dries them nicely without damaging the clothes and making them wrinkled. Has nice modes and options. Its not energy efficient and a bit noisy but ok as in my house the laundry is separate and i am keeping it as a back up for rainy days.

Love it!
This machine dries clothes very well! Doesn’t shrink clothes as much as others I have tried before. Has a low heat setting which I love because it doesn’t make the laundry hot (I don’t have air conditioning so this is amazing!)
Also has a delay setting which is very handy!

Great dryer
Happy with my new dryer - quiet, can either do a sensor dry or set the time eg: 60min. I fill the dryer after a few loads of washing, so the size is good ( my previous dryer was only 4kg but I'm sure I exceeded that weight and it kept on working) basically set and forget. The only con for me is that you cant tell how much time is remaining - just if it is drying or at cooling down stage. An easy to operate dryer with a few nifty features like a refresh and anti-crease function. Still need to clean the filter after each load as per normal - a good little vented clothes dryer that I am happy with so far.

A great dryer that doesn't break the bank
This is a fantastic basic dryer. The only minor disappointment for me is that it doesn't have a time remaining indicator. It does have progress indicators stating whether it is drying, cooling or finished. It has basic options to select airing, low or boost heating cycles, and programming options for refresh, delicate, fast 40, iron dry, normal dry and extra dry. The best part though is that it has an auto sensor, so it stops automatically when the load is dry. You can also select anti-crease, and the dryer will continue to give an occasional s...Read more
pin to stop your clothes creasing. So far, I have mostly used normal dry on low heat, or boost. The dryer has been perfect, but it has only been a few weeks. I also used the refresh cycle to avoid rewashing a clean shirt that had been in the closet for a while. I recommend this dryer if you want something more than the very basic turn dial type, but not if you want lots of fancy program options. I like to set and forget. I come back in an hour or 2, depending on the load size, and all is ready. No more repeatedly checking the load to see if it's dry.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

It's okay. It eventually gets clothes dry
I brought this drier to mainly dry my daughter sleeping bags which they are thick and hard to dry in a day in winter. The sensor function even on 'extra dry' doesn't work very well at all, i always find some damp stuff in my washing. I never over fill it or even close so bit of a shame. I just set it on a timer and go check it occasionally. It is easy to open filter to clean, open/ close door and use buttons.

Small and efficient
it does the job well and fit well in the laundry. However, the instructions in the user manual is not very clear. The control buttons also bit confusing. If the guides and buttons are arranged well, then the user experience would be much better. I hope they'll improve this in the near future.

Great value
It's a really good dryer at a great price. We purchased the 5.5kg model...it's a perfect size for us and fits nicely in our laundry. The dryer is quiet and we are so happy we got the one with a sensor...it turns off automatically when it senses the clothes are dry.

good capacity
Dryer is not too noisy and got various functions. Easy to remove lint and clean interior. To avoid moisture build up in the laundry, it is better to buy a hose that can lead to the exterior. The dryer energy rating is not so great so may consume more electricity than a condenser or other dryers. Overall I am pleased with its performance

2nd one dead in 6 months
What's going on with quality control Electrolux? In the last 3 years, 4 driers with very little use have failed. I originally purchased a EDV5051 from Masters. It was delivered DOA and replaced the next day. It's replacement lasted just under a year and Electrolux upgraded me to the newer more reliable model. The first EDV5552 lasted 6 months and the replacement let go yesterday with only a few weeks use. That's a whopping 4 driers in 3 years! The final straw was being told be the local service agent that's only 39 minutes away that we're simply too far away to service! Electrolux say sorry but they can't help. You've lost me as a customer.

Perfect for drying king size feather doona.
I was looking for the closest thing to a commercial dryer at domestic prices to dry bedding during winter. I was told buy several sales men it was impossible to dry a doona in a domestic dryer yet I went for the Electrolux 6.5kg. It's fantastic & does the job well with plenty of room to move around & the bowl changes rotation throughout the cycle, so no damp patches. The "dry sensor" only works if you either clean the lint filter or turn off the machine in between loads, & I believe it's a gimmick but this is a great machine & needs no gimmicks.

Can’t live without it
After my dryer died one day it was time to purchase another one. We found the Electrolux at Bing Lee and we’re blown away by the price. Using it the first time was fantastic! I couldn’t get over how quiet the dryer was! I would recommend this dryer to anyone.

Love this dryer
We bought this as a cheap option due our older dryer not working any more. We have enjoyed having this dryer as a back up to the clothes line. It has variable time settings and is easy to use. There are no difficult settings to try and negotiate when using this dryer.

great model, good value for money
The first dryer we have owned, and we are very happy. Plenty of different settings to suit exactly what you are looking for. It isn't noisy - we use it mostly at night and it never keeps us awake or disturbs it. Has a good quick setting, and doesn't seem to use too much power. Definitely recommend.

Good value for money
This is the first dryer we’ve owned. Very happy with it so far. I’m glad we bought a dryer with a sensor. It’s great that the dryer automatically finishes the program when it senses that the clothes are dry. Only complaint is that it creates a LOT of humidity and condensation in our laundry, even with the window open. We currently have it front-venting but will explore the rear-venting option.

Affordable, yet a good sensor dryer for the money
This is a really nice sensor dryer which I use twice a week in average. This does a pretty good job and the sensor works well as well. Use the dryer balls sold for few additional bucks, but that does a great job by reducing the time by a lot. It fits well in the regular laundries and make sure to use a exhausting fan or keep a window open when the dryer runs. The energy star rating are not that great, but fine for someone uses once or twice a week.

Questions & Answers
Toni B.asked
I have the EDV6552, the power button works, the lights are all on so I know there is power to it, but all the push button controls for temp, time, start/stop etc do not work at all. The weird thing is, when I want to enable the child lock or anti-crease, the two buttons that I have to hold down to enable the functions, do work, but only to enable these two functions. Please advise?

I suggest that you call for a repair technician to take a look. They may need to replace the main PCB, or something like that. It is unlikely that it's something that you can fix yourself.
Victorasked
The cotton-like substance inside the filter is called the lint. Is this meant to be removed and disposed off or left to be part of the plastic holder ?
1 answer
Victor, you're meant to empty the filter (remove and dispose of the lint) after each cycle.

I have the EDV5552 5.5KG DRYER and have wall mounted my dryer and wanted to know if the filter needs to moved to the bottom to catch the lint or dirt. Or does it stay where it is. Thank you
