Good Dryer
Pretty happy with this dryer, given that it is at the lower end of the market price wise. We looked at heat pump and condenser dryers but just could not justify the cost. You do need to vent the dryer as a lot of moisture is generated with it being a vented dryer (no more than any other). But it is simple to to use, it is very very easy to clean the filters (something which makes a big difference to me) and it's not too heavy.

Love this dryer!
I love this dryer, for the following reasons:
(1) My clothes/linens always come out dry - previously I had a Fisher and Paykel and often I'd have to put the load on for another round, because parts of it would still be damp.
(2) It's easy to use - it remembers the setting from the previous load, and there's a light to reminds you to clean the filter
(3) It makes a sound when it's done to notify you (you can turn this off if you don't like it, but I find it useful).
(4) The handle has a safety feature button - you need to push in to operate ...Read more

Good product but not the best
Okay, so I can not live without a dryer and it's used literally every single day, and it's still working great, haven't had any problems with it at all, it's super easy to clean and holds a lot of clothes, the only problem I have is it does take alittle longer to dry a load of washing than my old dryer, but it still does a good job

Good dryer
I bought this product with my washing machine from the Goodguys, thanks to the patient and professional staff at the store who recommended it to me, as I had no idea about the good dryer. This dryer working very well for us, for the small family. Dry the clothes well, and good price as well.

Fantastic but slow
I find it to be slow if you don’t select extra dry.
However it works really well if you do 2 lots of the normal dry. Also throw in a dry towel to help dry the clothes quicker. It pulls out the lint very well and is easy to access the filter. Definitely recommend to small family.

Excellent.
I had to purchase a dryer after having a baby and having massive clothes to wash everyday. Thank God for the dryer. I can do my laundry every other day and still stay on top of my laundry. Clothes are dried well. Lint are removed well. Towels are nice and fluffy.

good family size dryer at mid range pricing
the electrolux 6.5 kg auto sense dryer is a good size for `a family of 4 adults.
It takes a full laundry size load of underwear, socks etc which included cotton and was dry after using the 40 minute quick cycle
it is also quiet when running.
Ideal dryer for mid.range price

Extremely happy with this purchase!
I purchased this model as it was pretty much the cheapest drier you could get that had both a dry sensor and a low and normal heat setting. It was to replace an ancient Hoover drier that was long past it's replacement date.
Have had it now for about a month and have to say I am very impressed with it so far. The drier is quiet, and the sensor is 90% accurate.
It can get a little confused if it is a mixed load (T-shirts & jeans) as it will turn off and the jeans can be a tiny bit damp, but with similar material types in one load it works perfectly.
So far it has been a very good purchase.

Great Product
Really good machine, sensor is excellent. Many on the market but this cannot be beat for price, size of load capacity and how it works. Very happy with decision. Had for 3 months now and works well every time no matter if clothes, sheets or blankets. Certainly recommend this machine.

So far so good
I got this dryer a few weeks ago and so far I'm happy. It's a large dryer so I'm able to fit more clothes and it fits blankets. We use our dryer every day because our dogs jump and wild rip our clothes of our clothesline. The only problem I find is that even on Boost mode, some loads still come out slightly damp
Overall I'm happy

Does what is asked of it
We only use a drier on occasions to finish off drying process and this machine does a great job. Always finishing off and removing dampness so clothes can be folded and put away. We have always purchased Electrolux and have always been more than happy with our purchases. Easy to operate - easy to install on the wall.

Installation Time Saver
The dryer is going well so far. Easy to use, well explained manual, and installation guide.
We were pleasantly surprised that the installation brackets have a second set of holes punched to accommodate the installation screws from your last dryer (if you previously had an Australian made Simpson or Westinghouse you may not need to drill any more holes in your wall - we didn't - though you will need to use the new bracket supplied).
This cut down installation time to minutes. If this was advertised, it would have made my selection even easier.

Does the job and NO tangles
We now have 2 of these dryers. They are simple to use with lots of setting options. Best of all, no tangles or clothes balls at the end of the cycle as it has a reversing function for the drum. Filter is located in the door for easy access. This unit replaced a 'superior branded' product that cost almost double the price of the Electrolux but was a nightmare to use, with knotted clothing balls having to be untangled after every use.

Questionable sensor and noisy
Dryer seems to dry fine. However it is noisy but I believe this is standard for vented dryers.
My issue with it is that the sensor doesnt seem to be working properly. It has three sensor drying settings: Iron, Normal, Extra. I have been using Iron Dry and the clothes never come out slightly damp as is how it should be. But instead come out completely Dry. As a test I put my newly "Iron Dry" clothes back in the dryer when it had cooled and ran it again on Iron Dry, and the dryer took 15 mins ofdrying before it turned off the heat.
I bought this dryer specifically becuase it had a sensor so this is dissapointing. I have contacted Electrolux about this and will update my review with thier response.

A compact clothes dryer without comprising on capacity
I reside in an inner city apartment and my laundry is of a minimal size, and thus my vented clothes dryer needs to be wall mounted above my Fisher & Paykel Washing Machine. Allowing for my wishing machine's lid, I needed a clothes dryer which was no more than 795mm tall. It was harder than you think. The only brand I could find that met these height restrictions was the Electrolux brand. All other remaining brands were over 800mm in height. I was very pleased to find the Electrolux Vented Clothes Dryer, Model EDV6552, of 6.5kg capacity, s...Read more
tainless steel drum, sensor dry & crease free options, and able to be wall mounted. Though much research, I located this clothes dryer at Winning Appliances internet site for $487, being part of the EOFY specials. Of course, installation was an extra $150 as they contract all installation of appliances to a private company, and it includes two men coming to your home to install. I chose this option for peace of mind, but should you have an existing Westinghouse or Electrolux clothes dryer, the wall brackets are the same and does not require installation, other than lifting and placing the dryer onto the wall brackets. I have had the dryer for a month now and have used it daily. The dryer is quiet and efficient with all my clothes coming out crease free and thoroughly dry. You cannot ask more than that from a dryer. It is without hesitation I recommend the Electrolux EDV6552 6.5kg Vented Clothes Dryer.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Questions & Answers
Toni B.asked
I have the EDV6552, the power button works, the lights are all on so I know there is power to it, but all the push button controls for temp, time, start/stop etc do not work at all. The weird thing is, when I want to enable the child lock or anti-crease, the two buttons that I have to hold down to enable the functions, do work, but only to enable these two functions. Please advise?

I suggest that you call for a repair technician to take a look. They may need to replace the main PCB, or something like that. It is unlikely that it's something that you can fix yourself.
Victorasked
The cotton-like substance inside the filter is called the lint. Is this meant to be removed and disposed off or left to be part of the plastic holder ?
1 answer
Victor, you're meant to empty the filter (remove and dispose of the lint) after each cycle.

I have the EDV5552 5.5KG DRYER and have wall mounted my dryer and wanted to know if the filter needs to moved to the bottom to catch the lint or dirt. Or does it stay where it is. Thank you
