No wireless connection
Wireless doesn't work after spending half an hour trying everything. If you need wireless, don't get this printer. Also, you need to but the USB connection separately as it doesn't come with this printer.
Purchased in August 2021 for $47.00.

I hate it. Do not recommend
The wireless connectivity is okay. But the print heads are constantly clogged, it goes through ink very quickly, changing the cartridge is tricky and counterintuitive. The scanning software is clunky and tedious.
Purchased in September 2021 at Officeworks Physical store for $200.00.

Biggest rip-off, especially regarding ink/cartridges
At first I was reasonably happy with my printer, but I got a real shock when I realised just how fast the cartridges run out. The system will give you different readings for the ink levels at different times (i.e I just purchased yet another new cartridge (cyan). Before installing it, all 3 of the other ink levels were around a minimum of 1/3 full. After installing the new cartridge, the printer refused to work, because now it reads one of the other ones as being empty! No printing was done at all (obviously) between the 1/3 full reading an...Read more
d the now "sorry it's empty, you need to replace it" for the other colour. The other 2 levels have also magically dropped, and the ink level for the brand new Epson cartridge I just put in does not even show as full!) I purchased an extra-life/double black cartridge, which is now less than half-full (supposedly) after a ridiculously small amount of printing. You can't just print in black and forget about the colour inks either - the printer simply won't do anything unless it reads every cartridge as being reasonably full. As others here have mentioned, this is nothing but a scam by Epson, and a disgusting way to rort people. Never again will I purchase any Epson product. NEVER!Purchased in September 2021 at Officeworks Physical store for $80.00.

Terrible and unresponsive.
Terrible printer. Barely ever responds, been tempted to through it off my balcony many times. OSX user with updated drivers and still doesn't work. Always hit and miss whether the printer will be found and if it will start at all. Sometimes it even stops printing half way.
Purchased in March 2021 at Officeworks.

INK CARTRIDGE SCAM - Do not buy this product
This printer will ask you to change ink before the cartridges even run out of ink. This is another scam by EPSON, selling the printers at a loss and making billions on cartridges. This is not sustainable at all to the "environment"!
The printer gets updates regularly and every update isn't to help the consumer but to gather data and increase Epson's SALES! Updates will also learn third party cartridges and prevent you from using them! Latest updates doesn't allow refill or manual resetting or even third party cartridges. Overall this printer is rubbish scanning is very SLOW and printing quality is very BAD.

Worst printer ever
Slow to connect. Its connection keeps dropping! (Not my home wifi problem!) Took me to restart 5 to 8 times then only works normal. When i changed the ink for the first time, took me an hour to turn on off again and again to get ink and printer "connected". When both connected the wifi signal drops! you can imagine how frust i was about to chuck the whole thing into the bin!. Never buy this printer please. Now i dont even bother to use it anymore.

Complete rip off - be warned and don't become another victim
Bought the printer in Dec 2017 then used it literally 2 times. Recently just after the warranty period expired with the original initial cartridges still in place, the low ink indicator came on when I needed to print a doc and won't allow further printing. So went and bought a genuine Epson black ink cartridge which is excessively expensive, and replaced according to instructions. Then after a couple of attempts the printer appeared OK without further errors and started printing again, only without actually printing anything in black! For examp...Read more
le if I print a word doc with words only, the printer will eject the paper straight away without even any print head movements. Tried everything I could after googling solutions online including power on/off with printer and computer, reinstalling cartridges, driver, updating firmware, cleaning chip contacts etc etc, wasting the whole day. Eventually emailed Epson support who just said it was a hardware fault and recommended bringing it to service center. However, as warranty period expired for a week, they have to charge for inspection, then extra if new parts required. Conclusion is that Epson is a total rip off and most irresponsible hardware company I have ever come across. This is a systematic corporate crime utilising loopholes in laws and regulations to scam people unawares. It is not just monetary loss, it is precious time of your life wasted when trying to resolve which only resulted in nothing but frustration.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Absolute waste
I was only able to print about a dozen jobs before its completely stopped printing. The few i did print took 10-15 minutes of restarting the jobs to get them to connect. Stay clear from epson. I thought the issues was with the ink so i purchased an additional 'value set' costing more than the printer. The issue was not with the ink however, it was not possible form me to tell as there are no details with error messages, it simply says there is an error.

Cheap Rubbish
I have been selling printer cartridges online for the last 12 years and Epson are by far the worst printers on the market. They have a major issue with the firmware they use. Epson were voted worst printer on our poll that we conducted. I wrote this review after working on a XP-245 today and giving up in anger. They are cheap, low grade rubbish. DO NOT buy any Epson printer, be warned.

Piece of Junk
Doesn't do anything but the lights do light up. Absolute piece of useless back plastic. Been trying to connect to devices but won't connect to any. Pretty sure I would ever purchase another Epson product again. And continuously get bombarded with emails on a daily basis about other products that probably don't work either.

painfully slow and cumbersome to scan with
Never could get the wifi connected however works fine with a usb cord which I had to buy separate. The printing is fine however if you are going to do scanning I would highly recommend you look for another brand, it is painfully slow and cumbersome to scan with. I am writing this extra few words as product review requires fifty words, which also annoys me and the reason I will now stop writing reviews for them.

Epson Expression XP-245
I purchased this inexpensive printer. Big mistake as it has been sitting next to my desktop because I have been unable to get it to setup with my Wi Fi. The printer is poor quality and and it rattles along endlessly the times that I have tried to use it. To add insult to injury in desperation I got hold of Epson through a chat line that Epson has. Here I was put through to a technician who required a $44.00 fee to fix the problem. Probably close to what I paid for the printer. My trusty old Brother ran out of steam after seven years of good service. Back to Brother for me. AVOID this printer.

Welcome your new nemesis.
It jams. Worse than the jams are the mystery errors for no reason. It also runs out of ink very rapidly. The refills are cheaper than other cartridges, but they're still presumably filled with unicorn tears at that price.
When it does work, it takes ages to figure out what it's doing, which is frustrating given that it only had one job.
I truly despise this machine.

A waste of money
This printer has rarely worked properly since we bought it. The print quality is abysmal - either very faint or with parts missing - and it frequently jams. It is noisy, and the control panel is poorly designed. On top of this, the ink cartridges are eye-wateringly expensive, and it gets through them at an astonishing rate. To think that our old Lexmark printer gave us 11 years of excellent service, and on cheap recycled cartridges too.
AVOID!

Poor, poor quality, save your money and buy an alternative
I have owned a number of printers over the years, and the 'Epson XP245' would be the poorest quality printer I have had the misfortune of owning. It never connects to the wi-fi, print 5 pages, then there is always an issue with the ink. And let's NOT talk about the scanner.

great for price
Really good budget printer, very light and portable print from app. Easy to use and set up, the print quality is very good and it's quite fast to print. For the price you can't go wrong. I recommend this printer to the budget buyer. So fast and easy to print straight from from your phone.

Cheap printer, slow and expensive to operate - you get what you are paying for
This printer is rather slow and has ugly interface, without even a digital display (any operation requires user manual, no obvious ways to do anything). Very noisy. But that may be expected for a cheap multifunctional model.
Print quality is OK for the price.
This printer is very expensive to operate; it spends ink very quickly, and the worst part - it requires full expensive set of colour inks, even if you only print grayscale/black and white. And accordingly to Espon, it actually spends colour cartridges too, when printing black and whit...Read more
