absolutely brilliant
This printer went beyond my expectations. I bought it due to a good Choice review. It is quiet, quick, wirelessly prints from my phone and computer, does duplex, holds around 500 pages of paper meaning I don't have to store and the quality of the printout is unbelievable. I printed a photo of my dog and you can almost see each individual hair. One criticism is that if I put exactly 500 pages of paper in, it says it is out of paper. I did a trouble shoot with Epson and I had to take the printer back which was painful. The new one did exactly the same. I took a few pages out from each tray and it then worked.

Bad printer
I had an Epson workforce 4734 from Costco that never seemed to work right. Always having to change out expensive ink and perform some cleaning error that showed up on reg. basis...It is now sitting in the floor with brand new expensive ink cartridges in it and I have purchased a different printer NOT AN EPSON

Brilliant Printer - Scanner issues
Had an Epson WF-4630 for a couple of years that never did print that well, however the printer and scanner operated just fine. Then the printer stopped working when it was well out of warranty. Contacted Epson and was surprised they gave me a warranty repair code. As the printer was not in production by this time, Epson replaced it FOC with the WF-4745 as it was the nearest equivalent model. The print quality on this model is superb on the relevant paper for both text and photographs and I couldn't be happier. The printer is fast, fairly quiet ...Read more
and apart from not having a straight through single sheet feeder which was extremely useful for printing on thick card, the paper options are comprehensive. The connectivity options are also extensive and work without issue (at least the ones I have tried). The only niggle I have is with the Scanner driver. The WF-4630 had a driver called Epson Scan which worked fine, no problem, however the WF-4745 has one called Epson Scan 2 which seems to have a problem with my network and/or desktop. If I set the WF-4745 to use the Wi-Fi to connect to my network the scanner will work okay, however if I set the WF-4745 to use the wired network connection there can be a delay of several minutes before the initial scanner screen becomes available. If I then try to scan, this again can take minutes before starting to scan. Once the scanner starts it scans at the expected speed. I have looked for solutions online, but no one else seems to have this problem. I have also contacted Epson and had their support engineers remoting into my system to try to find the issue, but they eventually said they found nothing wrong so it's not their problem. It is a shame that I have this issue, but as I have found the WF-4745 works fine printing or scanning with virtually no delay when connected via my Wi-Fi that is an acceptable workaround. This scanner issue is the only problem I have experienced with an otherwise impressive printer/scanner and I am very happy with the Epson warranty ethos.Similar opinion?
