I’ve just used my vaporiser for the first time and followed the instructions. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of steam coming out.... is there a trick or is my machine faulty? Should I see steam coming out? There is a little bit but not as much as I thought.... thanks....

For a small amount of consumers we have found they are experiencing a separate issue where some of the coating of the heating element is flaking off into the water. Both types of 'flakes' are non toxic and are not a health hazard, but we understand it may cause concern and confusion. Hi, I've just started using my new euky bear vaporiser and after running it over night I found a lot of grey flakes in the water in the morning. Some flakes were large (about the size of a finger nail. It is only the second time it has been used in as many days. I used the cleaning tablet with the first use as advised. Is this normal for a new unit?

Read more washed away when you rinse out the container. The cleaning tablets won't prevent the residue occurring; they just protect the motor from a build up of scale. In a small amount of cases it could be a different issue, there have been some reports linking large grey flakes to coating deterioration inside the unit from some models produced last year. There's no health or safety issue, but the vaporiser would need to be replaced as the coating is needed for heat resistance. Read morelet formula is much kinder on the unit over time. Using pure citric acid can increase wear and tear on the heat-resistant coating. Sediment in the water after use is normal - this is minerals from your tap water and is harmless, just flush away after use. Cleaning the unit with the tablets or by other methods won't affect the sediment, which will still occur. It just helps prevent scale build up. So Ive bought the Euky Bear Vaporiser and every time I use it the room gets super hot. Its super hot here in Sydney and the vaporiser is making the temperature rise. Can I open the window to let air in whilst I use it or do I have to keep the room closed for it to work properly.

Read more the motor clean, and stops the scale building up - it doesn't stop the mineral residue from occurring. You're doing all the right things so not to worry! You can also do the occasional 'deep clean' by doing a vinegar flush - add 2-3 tablespoons of white vinegar and fill to the fill line with fresh water. Then run the vaporiser for 6-8 hours or overnight (I like to do this outside or in the laundry). This helps keep it working great and reduces any odours too. If you prefer to have a nightlight (and that is perfectly your choice) we can replace your unit under warranty. It's up to you, but doesn't indicate any further issue.
